Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Reporting effectiveness and advanced AI capabilities improve threat awareness while needing pricing simplification and licensing self-service
With pricing, they can improve by bundling their pricing because sometimes billing comes in a very long process. If they could bundle it as one solution and show the capabilities or features, they would be able to sell it more effectively, and as resellers, we could sell it to customers more easily. The technical support is responsive, but sometimes we experience limitations regarding the ability to add licensing. They could implement a self-service platform for assigning new licenses or ordering more. Currently, we depend on contacting someone who sends a new contract to sign through the process. They could change their licensing model, though I am not the right person to comment on functionality. On the reporting side, everything is covered.

Centralized console has improved visibility while setup remains quick on diverse environments
I don't know why I find it valuable; my colleague administrated it, but I was the chief of a team of six people, and one of them administered this product, which worked well for defending our servers. I don't know what the best features of Trend Vision One Endpoint Security are; it performs well compared to other products, and I am curious about it, but I cannot think of specific features. Perhaps my colleagues could provide that information, but I do not have that knowledge. The centralized console helps my team greatly; it is very convenient as everything is all in one console, not only EDR but many other products, such as email security and XDR features. Trend Vision One Endpoint Security positively impacts our organization as it is very simple to install on Windows and Linux servers; it is not very difficult to install.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Has great threat detection capabilities."
"Since they've done their most recent update, the ease to isolate endpoints is valuable. If we find one where there is a virus on it, we can easily isolate it. We don't even have to contact the user. We don't have to manually take them off the network. We can easily isolate them."
"Their XDR agent and their behavioral indicators of compromise (BIOC) are pretty nice. Their managed threat hunting is also pretty nice. They also have WildFire, which is a service for actively looking for malware. It's quite useful."
"It blocks malicious files, prevents attacks, and doesn't require many updates because it is a very light application."
"We switched because there were a lot of added features with Palo Alto that Check Point didn't have, and it was an upgrade for us."
"Traps is quite a stable product. Once it was properly deployed and configured, you have nothing to be worried about."
"We have a complete overview of all our PCs and it's very easy to handle and to use the interface. It has a lot of benefits for us."
"In one single alert, we are getting the network telemetry, endpoint telemetry, email security telemetry, and proxy telemetry all in one single ticket, making it very easy."
"We have been using this solution for quite some time, and the AI functionality is quite advanced; we are able to provide insights on different aspects and read the reports easily."
"The most valuable feature, which I can describe as the '360 vision' of the inventory device, provides a complete view of all the devices."
"The most valuable features are the rollback feature, it's important for us. The AI models and are good."
"It provides visibility and a storyline to track the virus or malware's activities, showing infected processes and changes made."
"Along with the anti-malware, it has a built-in device control and DLP."
"The number of accessories included is the most valuable feature."
"We had a ransomware attack, and Trend Micro was there to stop the attack, and we are still in business."
"No down time in terms of the backend having to be updated because it's on cloud."
"Trend Micro Apex One provides our customers with the best endpoint security."
"One of the advantages for me is that it is very easy to use."
"he setup is simple."
"Overall, this is a good solution and I can recommend it."

Cons

"Dashboards do not allow everyone to see what's happening."
"The solution lags to the real-time scenarios here and there."
"It'll help if customization was easier."
"Managing the product should be easier."
"The MAC agent is not as robust feature-wise as the PC version."
"It would be good to have a better way to search for a file within the UI."
"It takes time to scan the servers and devices."
"If they had pulse rate detection, it would be better."
"I would rate the scalability as seven out of ten. The capability is useful. Concerning the license, if I add one more device without a license, it will automatically subscribe to a license. I do not appreciate that."
"We have a lot of false positives we see in the dashboard. I think this is the only problem we are facing."
"I would like to see them add support for both Android and iOS smartphones."
"With pricing, they can improve by bundling their pricing because sometimes billing comes in a very long process."
"Apex One could improve endpoint patching. For example, Kaspersky can download Microsoft updates and install them. Having that feature in the cloud application would help a lot."
"For primary use cases, we required DLP solutions with application control and web control, which is not provided by Trend Vision One Endpoint Security."
"We had issues with our system integrator who didn't have enough experience with Trend Micro. There aren't many enterprise customers in our country who use Trend Micro on the level that we are using it, so it might be a little too complex for them. Trend Micro is typically used in small companies that do not need all the advanced features that we are looking for. The integrators don't have experience deploying these features. The scope is broad, but Microsoft Defender is simpler."
"Whether the license is monthly or annual depends on the deal of the company."
"There is room for improvement in the behavior filtering and control of Trend Micro."
"I would like to have DLP features implemented into Vision One Security."
"It would be great it can support endpoint encryption."
"In the future, the solution should include the XDR feature."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We didn't have to pay any additional fee for the cloud instance. It just came with the renewal, which was nice."
"It's way too expensive, but security is expensive. You pay for your licensing, and then you pay for someone to monitor the stuff."
"The pricing seems fair, and I do like the licensing model. You use wherever they are, and it is elastic."
"We pay about $50,000 USD per year for a bundle that includes Cortex XDR."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is quite an expensive solution."
"It's about $55 per license on a yearly basis."
"Every customer has to pay for a license because it doesn't work with what you get from a managed services provider."
"The price is on the higher side, but it's okay."
"The pricing is average."
"When compared to Symantec, Kaspersky, and others the price is higher, they are more expensive."
"Its pricing was good. It is very competitive with all the other vendors."
"It is cost-efficient."
"There is a license for this solution and it can be paid for monthly or annually."
"The price of the solution is fair and there is a per-user license to use the solution. Our costs are approximately $2,000 a month, it can get costly if you have a lot of users."
"Trend Micro Apex One's subscription model is definitely on the expensive side."
"We have the smallest package of Trend Micro Apex One. The full package is expensive, and it was more expensive than we thought."
"Its price is competitive."
