High availability and self-healing mechanisms ensure seamless production builds
The most useful feature of Mirantis Container Cloud for our container management is Kubernetes. It provides a cluster, high availability, and a self-healing mechanism. Its multi-cluster management capability enhances our operational efficiency as it is easy to use, and every deployment is from the CI/CD, which automatically builds and deploys without human interference, reducing our deployment time to a few seconds.

Long-term web protection has supported reliable traffic management but needs a simpler interface
NGINX App Protect is a good product. I have used both versions from F5 -also the free version- (I mean the NGINX/NGINX One/App Protect free trial period), and I think it is a good product. It's stable, affordable, and easy to manage. NGINX App Protect is a comprehensive security solution that combines advanced WAF, DoS protection, API security, and DevSecOps automation in a lightweight, scalable package ideal for modern cloud-native architectures. The adaptive machine learning capabilities are truly commendable, as the solution can establish traffic baselines and detect anomalies in real time. It automatically adjusts security policies, minimizing the need for manual intervention and reducing false positives. Additionally, it supports scalable deployment across diverse environments, including on-premises, cloud, Kubernetes, and containers, offering both flexibility and scalability I have experience with the web server, F5 load balancer, and similar products provided by Ergon, for eg. the web application firewall and the Microgateway for K8S. I'm also familiar with F5 BIG-IP products.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Docker is by far creating your own image, which lets you have an environment for whatever you are working on that is exactly how you want it and gives you a feeling of complete control."
"The product's most valuable feature is cloud simulation to predict application behavior on the cloud."
"By using Docker Engine and the environment, they can easily run their application in different containers and schedule different hosts."
"The commissioning is very fast."
"The UI is very useful."
"It is a stable solution. It is nearly perfect. I would rate the stability a ten out of ten."
"I use Docker in combination with Kubernetes. Management of software packages is easy. It also can be done fast. Rolling out new software updates is smoother and faster due to Mirantis Container Cloud."
"The solution containerizes software."
"WAF is useful to track mitigation, inclusion, prevention, and the parametric firewall."
"It has the best documentation features."
"There's a cache, or it works like a proxy, so it can speed up applications."
"We were looking for a product that is capable of complete automation and a container based solution. It's working."
"NGINX App Protect is a good product and performs very well even when it is under stress."
"We were looking for a product that is capable of complete automation and a container based solution, and it's working."
"The solution has helped us greatly during this Covid period."

Cons

"The solution's stability could be improved."
"The solution would benefit in improvements made to the storage, cleaning up information from the disk, and reading logs."
"It would be very nice to have a GUI that can be used by any administrator, and not just people who have experience with Docker."
"This product will only be useful if it can successfully run legacy applications in the cloud."
"I also feel that it is not a 100% secure product and I'd say there is room for improvement in the security area and functionality."
"In my previous years, I have brainstormed about the development of Container software. I have recently shifted focus, but the knowledge gained from those were really helpful. In my experience, Containers have their own complexities and to implement them, open source information is crucial. A software with new features would be beneficial. I suggest to implement a flow-based approach for container sequences, similar to Google Cloud's machine learning. The current process of deploying containers involves too many steps, and a more streamlined method would be appreciated. I've even automated deployment using APIs. Overall, simplifying container management and deployment processes would be valuable."
"With the Mirantis runtime being removed from Kubernetes, which is the industry-wide standard for orchestration of containers, I think it's going in a direction that is not super scalable."
"I think this solution needs better security due to more risks from the outside world."
"They could provide a better user interface."
"The product's price is high, making it an area of concern where improvements are required. The tool's licensing model is also not good."
"This solution is not really scalable. Both the virtual appliance and the physical appliance are limited in terms of how much traffic they can handle."
"Currently, the policies have to be handled manually, and you have to create from scratch, which can be a bit time-consuming, in a large environment."
"NGINX App Protect could improve security."
"Setting policies and parameters through the UI should be more automated because the process is manual, where we can only edit one rule at a time."
"It doesn't have more advanced features like no false-positive security, which you can configure in Advanced WAF."
"The product's user interface is an area with shortcomings as it can be quite confusing for users, making it an area where improvements are required."
