Versatile integrations and reliable customer satisfaction elevate cloud service experience
For Microsoft Azure improvement, they need to enhance their support system. The first level of support should be improved in terms of quality and response time. They need more technical support at the first level, as there are currently only one or two technical people among five to ten staff members at this level. They should ensure that the first level support is more technical because we normally provide services to technical users ourselves. When an issue arises, it usually escalates to the second or third level. When facing first level support, they may have limited knowledge and only collect screenshots to forward to their seniors. They should ensure that the first level support is aligned with L2 and L3 to better assist us, especially since we mention in the ticket that our issues are related to specific problems and require that sort of support.

The product is user-friendly and performs well, but it is very costly compared to other tools
We are a software development company. We recommend solutions to our clients, but they ask us to compare it with other solutions. Clients compare the monthly costs of Pantheon with other servers and ask us to create the same environment in dedicated servers. If Pantheon reduces its cost, we can confidently suggest it to clients. Overall, I rate the tool a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Microsoft offers free courses and an exam on their products. Many of my colleagues who use Microsoft Azure take advantage of those free courses to help them learn about the solution in depth."
"Active Directory is a good feature, and the infrastructure features that Azure provides are also good."
"We are using Microsoft Azure for deploying our Windows, and additionally for some analytic functions where we can have all our sales data and budgeting can be done."
"The robust encryption services increase the confidence of tech users."
"The most valuable feature is the instant availability of resources."
"The stability of Microsoft Azure has been very good from what we have seen."
"Azure services like EDM and Batch are all famous, but one of the most popular services for development is Azure Functions, especially the PaaS option. Depending on a customer's environment, they can go for the PaaS."
"We are satisfied with the technical support."
"The product allows users to create multiple development environments."
"Pantheon has the most valuable workflow model."

Cons

"The solution should emulate what MuleSoft is doing. At the moment MuleSoft has a lot of other features compared to Azure API integration."
"For some use cases, Microsoft Azure is okay and working, but it is lacking features and we cannot implement it fully."
"The third-party data-sharing features must be improved."
"Getting support is very painful because tickets get assigned to different countries."
"Azure backup is still hard to configure and to figure out which Azure backup component to use for backing up different data on various storages."
"The tool needs to improve its navigation."
"Microsoft Azure is not always a user-friendly solution. There are too many people who develop this solution. For the end-users, sometimes it's not really fun to use or simple to use. It could be improved."
"The technical support of Microsoft is okay. However, there were times we had to speak to them in the US time zone which was not convenient."
"The Multidev environment is very costly compared to other tools like AWS and GCP."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing fees are more than $1,000,000 USD annually."
"It's a metered environment, and it's pay-as-you-go. That's the big challenge with a metered environment."
"Microsoft Azure is not expensive. You pay for what you use. If you are using it everything could be expensive."
"Be careful with Azure Cool storage accounts; if you are dealing with high object counts, then it can be more economical to use Hot storage because of the high storage access costs associated with Cool."
"Microsoft Azure's pricing is reasonable. We pay around 5000 dollars per annum."
"The cost structure is like most cloud-based services. The solution could be cheaper, it is always better to be cheaper."
"There are added costs to the company or for scaling for most premium products."
"Microsoft always provides the entry-level solution with a cheap license. Once you start to like the product, then you have to pay for the full package, which is more expensive than the entry-level solution. Every feature comes with a license and a cost. Some licenses have multiple features, and some features require a specific license."
"The platform has reasonable pricing compared to other systems."
