Can build reports easily and offers unlimited view access of them in a single dashboard
Ivanti Xtraction provides reports in a single dashboard. We can ask the executive leadership to review it. It has unlimited view access. You can view the reports but won't be able to edit them. The solution makes it easy to build reports and send them. It has filters, and you can filter the results based on time, date, etc. The view will go back to normal once refreshed.

Microsoft Power BI has many features and there is not a lot to improve. However, the licensing can be confusing. When deciding between Pro and Premium, I find it difficult to distinguish what features are offered by Pro and what features are offered by Premium, including the particular differences to choose between both licensing models. Additionally, some features such as DAX, which I mentioned previously, involve DAX calculations and complex data modeling, which are somewhat advanced and not easily understandable. Prior knowledge is required or you need to go through the documentation. If the documentation is made comprehensive so that anyone with no knowledge on DAX can easily use it by going through the documentation, it would be really helpful. Additionally, if the integration with non-Microsoft tools is improved and performance is optimized, then Microsoft Power BI can become a top-ranked visualization tool. The user experience with Microsoft Power BI is quite good. The intuitive user interface makes it easy for both technical and non-technical users to create reports. However, only the advanced features are somewhat complex, and if the documentation is improved, it can be easily accessible.

Pros

"Ivanti Xtraction provides reports in a single dashboard. We can ask the executive leadership to review it. It has unlimited view access. You can view the reports but won't be able to edit them. The solution makes it easy to build reports and send them. It has filters, and you can filter the results based on time, date, etc. The view will go back to normal once refreshed."
"The scalability is excellent, all our professional consultants use it."
"We were able to reduce costs by consolidating the 3 Crystal Report Servers down to just one server running SSRS (with one backup just in case)."
"Power BI has strong support from Microsoft. If you need help, they answer promptly. There are also several discussion groups where you can get information, like the product roadmap and any new things coming up."
"One of the key benefits of Power BI is how easy it is to develop reports."
"Being able to transfer data with the Power Query feature is great for teaching with about one to two hundred rows of data, and I am also able to see the relationship between multiple tables and create various sheets and dashboards."
"This solution has provided an accurate analysis of our customers repurchasing the same plan for telecom Jio, providing customer purchase patterns and great visualization."
"It ingegrates nicely with Office 365."
"Microsoft BI's dashboards are helpful."

Cons

"The tool's graphics need to be updated."
"The installation requirements are quite demanding and only computers with relatively high processing power and large primary memory are able to run some SQL Reporting and Analysis tools."
"When you're building, the documentation sucks. It's a painful experience to find out how to do things inside the connector framework."
"Real-time data integration is an area for improvement. Although I've worked on several solutions involving real-time integration, it's not very user-friendly and often lags, especially with over a million data rows."
"I would like to be able to use SQL properly within the reports and allow multiple people to work on the same report at the same time. If one person is working on it, then it causes issues for anyone else wanting to make reports."
"I would like to see more visualization options."
"The build in Report Builder for end users needs improvement."
"The upgrade process could be improved."
"I believe Power BI could improve by making data tables and databases easier to handle, especially for non-programmers who may not be familiar with languages like Python. Simplifying these aspects would enhance the usability and accessibility of Power BI for a broader range of users."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Microsoft BI is free for the personal edition, but there is also a paid-for professional version."
"It is reasonably priced."
"I used a two months free trial to see if it had what I needed."
"Power BI's price is reasonable, especially if you can put it in some bigger package and use it with other products. The value of a solution doesn't just come from its features as a standalone product. The price should also reflect how easy it's to set up, clean data, and integrate with other solutions."
"They are charging us by users in storage, and there is a license fee. My financial people handle all that. The client has already worked out a contract with Microsoft, and basically, we're getting government prices."
"The price for this solution is reasonable. However, there is an additional cost if you want to publish the dashboard privately."
"Its pricing is reasonable for the desktop stuff, but for enterprise-level, it is a little expensive."
"Power BI is cheaper than Tableau and Cognos."
