Reliable cloud backups have protected client data and restore operations run quickly and smoothly
One of the issues we ran into with Infrascale Cloud Backup is compression. Infrascale Cloud Backup does not support compression for the cloud when performing backups, which is one of the crucial things we needed for some of our clients. Pricing would be helpful for Infrascale Cloud Backup. Compared to other vendors and other cloud solutions, it is more expensive. If the prices improve and Infrascale Cloud Backup enables compression, that will help us considerably.

Backup operations have become reliable and reporting now simplifies hybrid cloud protection
Veeam Data Platform has Veeam Enterprise Manager as well as Veeam ONE as valuable features, which allow us to generate various kinds of reports that are required for the customer. Instant VM Recovery is a good feature of the high-speed recovery features in Veeam Data Platform, and Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is also a good feature. Ransomware protection is a good feature added in Veeam Data Platform from version 12 onwards, and the ability to create immutable repositories is also a good feature in Veeam. The analytics part of Veeam Data Platform is a good solution because I have worked on various backup technologies such as EMC NetWorker and NetBackup. However, I have not used the analytical parts currently but will check it out. Streamlining processes as well as saving money are benefits that Veeam Data Platform provides for the end user, as it allows for application-aware backups and database backups without the need for various kinds of licenses that other backup software requires. Veeam offers socket-based licenses, instance-based licenses, and capacity-based licenses, which is a great feature.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The best features Infrascale Cloud Backup offers are a quick, dependable, and secure site."
"This is a good solution for the virtual environment; it's easy to use with a simple restore feature."
"It is a straightforward solution; there is no need for a dedicated technical person to do the backup and replication, and Veeam is very straightforward when it comes to doing the replication."
"We use it to back up and restore our virtual machine in a live environment without restoring the complete virtual machine, as it just mounts its storage to the NFS and makes the machine live in seconds, which is our favourite feature in Veeam ONE."
"It automated backup to the point of almost no involvement needed and our backups can be checked, tested and verified at any time in accordance with our policies."
"No problems with stability."
"Veeam Cloud Connect has helped us to reduce the cost of cloud storage for an offsite solution using their archive storage feature."
"First, I like that this solution is fast. Second, I like the stability and flexibility."
"It's afforded our organisation peace of mind knowing that we have reliable, fast and a cost effective backup solution for our virtual environment which also allows us to provide our developers with both test and pre-prod environments in hours rather than days."

Cons

"One of the issues we ran into with Infrascale Cloud Backup is compression. Infrascale Cloud Backup does not support compression for the cloud when performing backups, which is one of the crucial things we needed for some of our clients."
"If there is a communication interruption (ping drops) between the proxy and the Veeam server, the backup fails."
"Regarding managing LQ or Liberty delivery, there was no system initially; it was solely for backing up Vista Disc. I suggested enhancing this option. However, my experience with Dibree was unsatisfactory. I recommended adding Azure for EBMI XPower backup and incorporating SolarWinds for end-of-month risk processes, which were not part of the initial solution."
"The tech support is always there to help out but you need to take note of the time difference. They don't seems to have dedicated resource to cover the APAC time zone from what I have experienced."
"There needs to be more integration with VMware and the virtual machine."
"I would prefer it if the backup console did not require use of a specified program, but rather that it could be opened from any website."
"It needs to offer an automatic check for backups."
"There are certain shortcomings associated with the virtualization infrastructure."
"We have had problems with some jobs. For example, when we have a VM with a large SQL Database, sometimes we cannot adjust the time for transaction logs to back up and overlap time."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Veeam has been raising its prices in the last two years, so it's now lacking some competitiveness in pricing."
"Veeam products are less expensive than other products. The licensing costs are low and they're pretty affordable."
"The product is inexpensive."
"Its price is reasonable for a big company or a big client. It is not too much. It is cheaper than VMware."
"The price of the solution could improve when comparing it to competitors. The market is very competitive and they should have some discounts or special offers."
"There is a license required for this solution and the price is a bit expensive but it depends on the environment that you have on how much it will cost."
"It is approximately $4,000 to $5,000 for the purchase of the product and I paid an additional $2,000 for the renewal."
"It is always nice to get products cheaper. Technically, it saves you a lot of money. If you wanted to buy the same functionality out of vSphere, you would spend thousands to essentially get the same functionality."
