Secures critical infrastructures with essential user session audit records
A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Reduced calls to the Service Desk for password resets but it does need a deployment mechanism
The availability to use a web portal Reduced calls to the Service Desk for password resets. They could include a deployment mechanism. I've used it for four years. No issues with deployment. No issues with stability. No issues with scalability. Customer Service: Very good. Technical…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"When we started with RPA, there was a requirement that every credential and the bots themselves be protected through the PAM system. From the get-go, we've had CyberArk in the middle... We've got a pretty robust RPA implementation with our PAM platform. Users, bots, the credentials — everything is managed via our PAM solution."
"PSM (Privilege Session Manager."
"It has a lot of good tools, including everything we need."
"The implementation of the PSM proxy has reduced the specific risk of "insider attacks" on our domain controllers and SLDAP servers by eliminating direct user login by an open secure connection on the user's behalf without ever revealing the privileged credentials."
"Password rotation, session recording & isolation and on-demand privileges."
"We chose CyberArk because of its great functionalities, the ability to be deployed granularly at a different scale for each function, and the ability to be deployed in a distributed infrastructure."
"CyberArk Privileged Access Manager indeed helps meet compliance and regulatory requirements for customers, especially in the financial sector, by aligning with PCI DSS standards."
"With CyberArk, it allows us to streamline and create a workflow which allows them to automatically log into CyberArk, grab the credentials that they want, and it automatically sends their approval to their manager, who can click a couple buttons, approve, and the user is able to get their credentials."
"It’s an excellent solution, with great security."
"Easy to enter and track licensing, a history of successful and failed attempts, easy for the users, and low cost."
"Customer Service: Very good. Technical Support: Excellent."

Cons

"As a customer, I might need a plugin for a specific product, or an application, and CyberArk might have already worked with some other client on it. There has to be some platform where it is available for everybody else to go and grab it, instead of my having to reinvent the wheel."
"Areas the product could be improved are in some of the reporting capabilities and how the reports are configured."
"If there is an area that has room for improvement, it's probably working with their support and getting people on the phone."
"The architecture needs to be improved."
"CyberArk's license is too expensive. I rate it seven out of 10 for affordability."
"The initial setup is pretty difficult and it takes a while to put into place."
"Some aspects of the administration need improvement, though they have recently made improvements to the API. However, the management with the interface and configuration are not so user-friendly."
"As a customer, I might need a plugin for a specific product, or an application, and CyberArk might have already worked with some other client on it. There has to be some platform where it is available for everybody else to go and grab it, instead of my having to reinvent the wheel."
