Secures critical infrastructures with essential user session audit records
A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

A solid SIEM solution that should improve technical support and online resources to be easier to use
A big problem with the product is that we don't have much professional experience in Israel installing, implementing, and integrating this product. There is not enough of a knowledge base. There is no support for this product in this country, so problems have to be resolved through global technical teams. We like to work locally because of the language, and when the product is only supported outside the country, it's a little difficult to implement and use this product. Moreover, AI is something that must be added immediately. Artificial intelligence is a part of the competitors' products, and it's not been implemented for us.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"CyberArk Privileged Access Manager has helped our organization by controlling users' access."
"BeyondTrust and ARCOS were introduced in market at that time; these tools are good but do not seem to be as user friendly as CyberArk PAM, which is more convenient in installing and deployment and easier to customize as per client requirement."
"CyberArk Privileged Access Manager’s ability to safeguard credentials for our organization is very important because it helps in managing the keys to the kingdom, especially the privileged access for various platforms."
"It has a centralized page where you can manage everything. This makes work easier. You don't have to remember different module URLs or browser applications. It is very easy to get all the secure identities of other environments into a single page, which is very important for us as it helps a lot in terms of operations, e.g., reduces management time. This is a single page where you can manage all accounts and onboard them to the CyberArk. You can then secure and see passwords from everywhere. So, there is a single pane of glass where you can manage all the identities across environments as well as across different types of identities."
"Once the product was deployed and we were able to give them all the tools that they have today, and they did not have to go through attestations and audits anymore and, when team members were coming in and leaving, all they had to do was put in a ServiceNow request to complete all the work, it was just something so different for them that all that friction just went away."
"Within the solution, I love the fact that everything is recorded. The configuration capabilities are great, too."
"The PSM is excellent and the ability to write your own connectors and plugins is invaluable as far as flexibility goes."
"The session recording and monitoring capabilities are valuable. We have real-time session management ability to record, audit, and monitor any privileged user activities. That is a big deal."
"Their customer service is excellent, one of the best."
"It's quite economical compared to other solutions in the market."
"Offers a good wireless feature."
"Over time, NetWitness Logs and Packets has matured from a boxed solution with multiple parts to the current, more streamlined version for which we only need the software license to put it up on our own cloud and deliver it to multiple clients."
"The newer 11.5 version that my team is using has found it to have good mapping."
"NetWitness Platform offers flexibility for deployment and robust integration capabilities."
"I can have enterprise security, email security, next generation firewall security log, HIDS and NIDS logs, etc. all on the same dashboard. It makes it easy to pinpoint or correlate our server to this. I can find out if there is lateral movement. This is the biggest advantage of this solution."
"The most valuable features are its ingestion of logs and raising of alerts based on those logs."

Cons

"Small things such as resizing pop-ups but mainly the reporting possibilities: These are quite poor in my honest opinion."
"I find it hard to mention a point of improvement because I'm happy with the platform. The only thing I would say is that they can improve their price."
"A greater number of out-of-the-box integrations with other vendors: They are working on it, but more is better!"
"I think that this product can be improved in all the areas."
"Their post-sale support area requires a big improvement."
"CyberArk PAM is a very broad product as everyone's requirements for implementation are different. In our particular case, the initial implementation was planned and developed by people who didn't know our specific network requirements, so the initial implementation needed to be tweaked over time. While this is normal, at the time all these "major" changes required CyberArk professional services to come in-plant and "assist" with the changes."
"There was a situation when one of our presidents had an issue, but I can't recall the specifics."
"The current process for accessing RDP through the CyberArk or administrative portal involves downloading an RDP file. This is inconvenient for users and problematic due to security restrictions that prevent accessing servers via downloaded RDP files."
"The initial setup was complex because it takes a lot of time to complete the implementation."
"Sometimes, it gives me static when integrating Windows-based systems. It should produce a precise log of sorts as to where the problem is. For example, a few days ago because of the McAfee application firewall, I couldn't get access to the particular Windows machine. So, my team and I had to figure out by ourselves that there was a virus responsible for the obstacle. This solution should trigger a meaningful log or message indicating the reason the user or implementer can't get into the machine."
"I believe they could improve their support, there are often delays."
"Its technical support could be better."
"It is overly complicated. It has taken years to implement and the return on investment just isn't there."
"The initial setup is very complex and should be simplified."
"The user interface is a little bit difficult for new users and it needs to be improved."
"It should have a monitoring feature. It would help us analyze the current state of attacks faster from a single platform."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This solution is expensive."
"I focus more on the technical side, but I hear customers say that if CyberArk was more affordable, they might have acquired more licenses. Some clients consider alternative solutions due to pricing concerns."
"The solution is available at a high price"
"I would rate the tool’s pricing a six out of ten."
"Our risk is definitely significantly lower. Also, our resources are low."
"In comparison to other products on the market, CyberArk is a more costly product."
"It is in line with its competitors, but all such solutions cost too much money."
"Compared to other solutions, it is costly."
"We are on an annual license for the use of the solution."
"There is a licensing fee and the customer can choose whether he wishes this to be subscription-based or perpetual."
"We have a perpetual license, so the total cost of ownership is not very expensive. It's a good investment."
"The product price was reasonable for my region and the market."
"The NetWitness Platform may be affordable only for enterprise-level customers, as it may not be within the budget of small and medium-sized businesses."
"It is cheap."
"Our license is for one year."
"In comparison to other SIEM solutions such as Splunk, NetWitness is less costly."
