Has plug-and-play capability once configured and good reporting system
The tool's most valuable features have been its plug-and-play capability once configured and its reporting system is good. The most improved feature of asset auditing is its physical logging of all software. This allows us to understand what software and applications are installed on endpoints. We can easily check which software applications are installed in the network infrastructure during client processing or audits.

Customization capabilities allow clients to autonomously deploy policies
There are a few areas where Trellix Endpoint Security can improve. Firstly, the high CPU utilization when agents are installed can negatively impact client systems. Another issue is with end-users outside the network, where the agent handler sometimes fails to deploy the product properly. Improvements are needed in forensic analytics to detect specific vulnerabilities. It would also help if detection specifics were identified more quickly and the problem-solving process accelerated, especially to meet larger clients' expectations.

Pros

"The tool's most valuable features have been its plug-and-play capability once configured and its reporting system is good. Cons

"The tool needs to be more user-friendly."
"There is room for improvement in the pricing. The price should be improved, it's high."
"We have had some of our clients not happy with McAfee Endpoint Security because it blocks some of the applications they are trying to use. They should make it easier to unblock applications."
"Support-wise they need to be better."
"It would be nice if the solution was a bit more stable."
"The solution consumes a lot of end user memory and CPU. Trellix doesn't really focus much on the anti-malware side."
"The user interface could be improved by making it more user-friendly. There are multiple solutions and there is no clear line differentiating all of them. There is a centralized console where we manage everything but most of the administrators feel a little confused when it comes to managing multiple products from a single place."
"We don't like the solution since it requires much memory consumption and consumes much CPU resources."
"Continued available training is important for people coming in to use it."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten."
"It is a yearly subscription-based product, which includes the license and hardware. There is also a subscription for technical support up to five years."
"Since the maintenance is done by our own team, the price of the subscription should really be cheaper."
"There's a subscription on a yearly basis. It's not that expensive; it's quite affordable."
"McAfee's prices are flexible and can be quite competitive, although there are other solutions that are even more so."
"The pricing is comparable to other solutions on the market."
"The price of the product is similar to the ones in the market that offer the same features."
"Microsoft Defender is not cheap and from a cost perspective, Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) is a better option."
"I think Trellix is more on the higher side of the market, just on a general scale, but I also think it depends on what particular package you choose."
