Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Achieving nearly complete protection with reliable configuration management and effective technical support
The most valuable features of GravityZone Business Security are its anti-malware and anti-virus capabilities. The firewall policies are considered very powerful, and it prevents many malicious issues. The solution has its own definitions for viruses or malware, providing timely detection updates. Additionally, their technical support is very effective, with knowledgeable engineers handling cases efficiently.

Protects against zero-day threats and provides a quick overview of the status of all desktops
The platform's real-time protection works by blocking or quarantining threats when a user clicks on a link or opens an email deemed suspicious. I recommend it for those focused on zero-day threats. However, if you're looking for a one-size-fits-all solution, you may need more than one product. Overall, I rate it a nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I can highlight that we have not faced any security incidents with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks, and even though our environment is quite dynamic, we have not faced any security incident with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks until now."
"The most valuable features are incident creation, policy-based protection, IP whitelisting, and device encryption. These are beneficial for endpoint and server security."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks has helped lighten the load of our security analysts because it was the major tool that we were using and the one we utilized most."
"Traps is quite a stable product. Once it was properly deployed and configured, you have nothing to be worried about."
"It can automatically correlate events and logs, which is very helpful for an IT administrator. It can correlate different kinds of malware activities over a network, agent, or host system. You do not need to do it manually. It is a good feature. It is also a user-friendly solution. We have deployed it on the cloud because our space does not provide any flexibility for on-premises deployment, but Palo Alto has added some flexibility to install it on-premises. It must be like the same Cortex XDR agent for all the VPN services, web filtering services, and everything else."
"Monitoring is most valuable."
"The product's most valuable features are massive user and feature intelligence exploit detection."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks should be a stable solution."
"The best part is the risk management; it gives me real relief, and an overall idea of what all my systems are exposed to, where my weaknesses lie, and how I can address them—whether it's misconfigurations, user behavior creating the risk, or the OS software that isn't getting patched, or critical CVs that aren't getting mitigated."
"GravityZone is very light on PCs and offers excellent threat detection capabilities, notably through its anti-malware and anti-virus features."
"Offers network security protection. Management and maintenance of this solution is easy."
"The most valuable feature of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite is its efficiency in finding threats, such as viruses and ransomware."
"GravityZone Business Security is an important part of our security stack."
"The solution's pricing depends on the features selected but it is the most inexpensive option in the market."
"The initial setup of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite is easy."
"We send Bitdefender GravityZone Elite to all of our clients, and we get reports and monitor it, and we have had a couple of instances where the solution has been triggered by a virus or something and it worked very well, and we are happy with it."
"We focus on zero-day threats, and Malwarebytes helps minimize the risk."

Cons

"Impact on system performance is horrible, adding a lot of delays for users."
"The deployment is pretty hard."
"If you compare it to SentinelOne, which has more functionalities and detection capabilities on an open platform, the pricing on SentinelOne is far more reasonable and cheaper than Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks."
"The solution can never really be an on-premises solution based simply on the way it is set up. It needs metadata to run and improve. Having an on-premises solution would cut it off from making improvements."
"The solution should enhance the ADR and reporting."
"I have seen lagging with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks. There was one time when we faced a threat actor trying to gain access to our system. When our team utilized the tool, we were all on the same dashboard and we faced a lag issue at that time of around five minutes, which was quite significant."
"Whenever the tool releases a new version when deploying the product across the organization, I feel like there are some disturbances in the CPU usage after upgrading the tool to the latest version."
"For Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks, if I had to point out improvements, I would say the UI is still somewhat difficult for beginners."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Elite could improve the ease of use and add more features."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Elite could improve by having a patch management function to become part of the solution. For now, it's a separate module subscription."
"Another observation was that we have disabled all the external media via GravityZone Business Security policies, but when connecting a device such as a phone, it was getting detected, and users were able to read and write files."
"If an enterprise already has existing security features or products, GravityZone Business Security could integrate with them. This will make it a cost-effective solution without replacing their current setup."
"The main issue with Bitdefender is the UI and console. It's not designed with current standards; it's not HTML5 and doesn't work well for navigation, making it a little clunky."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Elite could improve the ease of use and add more features. Other solutions have more features such as Kaspersky Antivirus. For example, I could not remote connect with Microsoft Windows with Kaspersky Antivirus and the reports were better. Additionally, I have had difficulty ending tasks with solutions."
"It is more than adequate, just needing to keep up with industry changes."
"From an administration perspective, the tool lacks functionalities related to RMM and MDM. The tool should offer add-ons, like RMM and MDM."
"The product's reporting functionality could be improved. Additionally, there could be enough documentation available."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's about $55 per license on a yearly basis."
"The price of the product is not very economical."
"I did PoCs on products called Cylance and CrowdStrike. Although, I consider these products and they were also good, when it come to cost and budgetary factors, Traps has been proven to be better than the other two products. It is quite cost-effective and delivers all the entire solution which we require."
"This is an expensive solution."
"The price was fine."
"The return on investment is from the user side because we have seen the performance of it increase the delivery time of the product if we are using too many web-based and on-premise applications. In indirect ways, we saw the return of investment in terms of performance and user satisfaction increase."
"The price of the solution could be reduced. I have customers that have voiced that the solution is good for the value but if I want to sell more of the solution the price reduction would help."
"It is present, but when compared to other competitive products, I would say it is not less expensive; however, when all of the other added values are considered, the price is reasonable."
"The solution's pricing depends on the features selected but it is the most inexpensive option in the market."
"The pricing is within the market price range compared to other solutions. It's quite affordable."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Elite is an affordable solution."
"We pay approximately $80,000 for a three-year subscription."
"The price of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite is very good. We are on a three-year license, and the third year was free."
"There is a license needed to use this solution and it can be purchased for one, two, or three years."
"Its subscription is yearly."
"We have to purchase licenses for the use of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite. We started out with approximately 150 licenses and now we have over 1,000. You can purchase licenses annually or every three years."
"The product pricing is fair. They may negotiate if you contact them directly; otherwise, you'll pay the standard premium."
