Has supported data retention and export tasks while leaving room for greater automation and feature expansion
If we can have more APIs open for Google Vault, that would be great, and instead of doing it manually, it would be better to do it programmatically. I think there is an API available with Google Vault, though I'm not certain about it. I have never used Vault programmatically, but if APIs exist, then it's beneficial, and if there aren't any, we should have the capability for programmers to create some sort of scripting so they can fetch the data. I assess the export feature in Google Vault in terms of ease and efficiency as quite efficient because most of the data we want to see is available in MBOX and PST formats. If possible, I would want to see Google Vault support additional formats such as iCal, iCad, or CardDAV, which are for iPhone users.

Support for data archiving and integration capabilities enhance data management
The GUI of Veritas Enterprise Vault is not friendly; the user interface can be quite convoluted for users or IT people who are not conversant with it. Even for professionals, it can be complex. Over time, if you get the hang of it, you'll understand it, but it's not something you can teach a user to quickly grasp. It's kind of complex. Veritas could do something to change this situation. I've given feedback quite a number of times through various channels, including during support calls. I remember trying to do a system state backup using our NetBackup feature, and I found out that Veritas NetBackup cannot back up a system state. Having numerous solutions instead of just one backup system can be quite unfriendly. They can back up other things such as databases and file servers, but when it comes to carrying a system state backup, it falls short. Honestly, Veritas Enterprise Vault's costing was one of the main reasons we dropped the integration to the cloud.

"Overall, it's a very good product, and I recommend it with some consideration for future improvements."
"What I appreciate about Google Vault is that one of the best features is the ability to use retention policies; it covers mail, chat groups, calendars, sites, Drive, and Google Voice, and the data will remain in Google Vault even if it gets deleted by the user accidentally or intentionally."
"Overall, I would rate Google Vault a ten out of ten."

Cons

"Google Vault lacks speed."
"Many of our customers are facing problems related to backup and data splitting, and when they ask Google technical support about the reason for the data splitting, they haven't received a proper answer."
"Google Vault needs to improve its data export timing because sometimes, it takes a very long time to export the data."
"The price of the solution could improve and the search could be easier."
"My personal opinion is that Google Vault could improve if they could have a similar version to Microsoft 365 where you can have an eDiscovery manager account. With this, you can separate a regular person from an organization and just transfer the specific files."
"So, when doing a search, perhaps in some instances when you use terms, the information is not very precise in the sense that I'm not getting what I'm looking for. And in some instances, the information, not all the time, but in some instances, it might not be accurate. For example, when doing a search, if you use too many terms, it might not return any results."
"Searching could be improved. There's a lot of limitations when searching with Google Vault."
"EDiscovery could be improved. It's used for searching, holding, and exporting data for Vault and I believe it should be updated."
"The file-level archiving is very important in Enterprise Vault 12 and this doesn't really exist in early versions."
"The GUI is not friendly. The user interface can be quite convoluted for a user or an IT person who is not conversant with Veritas Enterprise Vault to immediately grasp it."
"The stability could be improved."
"Cost is high for Veritas Enterprise Vault."
"To give a quick calculation, one year of Veritas Enterprise Vault is more expensive than five years of CommVault."
"The product is a very complicated solution. It is not easy to upgrade and get alerts of issues. You have to check it all the time to see if there is an internal error."
"The GUI is not friendly. The user interface can be quite convoluted for a user or an IT person who is not conversant with Veritas Enterprise Vault to immediately grasp it."
"The deployment phase is very hard."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is expensive."
"Google Vault comes as part of a package deal for us."
"Last year, the price was randomly increased and our customers were really facing a challenge around this. Google launched new pricing under different plans, where formerly there were only three plans, and now there are four, each with their own separate usage allowances. I think it's good, though. The basic plan is now the Business Starter plan, and many customers find this plan very convenient and minimal in price. Overall, the pricing for all the plans is good."
"The pricing is fairly cheap."
"Google Vault is a cheaply priced product. Monthly payments are to be made towards the licensing costs attached to the solution. There are no extra costs apart from the licensing costs attached to the solution."
"If you have Google Enterprise, then Google Vault is free to use."
"There is a license required for this solution and it is typically is paid annually."
"The pricing is very high."
"The price for Enterprise Vault is around €100 per user."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is expensive and ten is cheap, I rate the solution's pricing a seven out of ten."
"Enterprise Vault is a little bit expensive."
"Veritas Enterprise Vault is an expensive solution."
"It's an affordable solution"
"Veritas Enterprise Vault pricing is average, and I rate the solution a five out of ten for pricing."
