Network detection enhances security while seamless integration boosts utility
I use Fortinet FortiNDR for its Network Detection features, primarily with FortiGate on-premises. However, I do not handle day-to-day operations myself; my team manages the tools. In general, there is no issue with FortiGate in our company Some of the valuable features include FortiGate's Network…

Has improved threat detection workflows and supports seamless customer monitoring
The best features Trellix Network Detection and Response offers include very good threat detection, and I believe that it is one of the best XDR tools. For example, ePO and XDR components are very comfortable and similar to many other tools for this type of monitoring, and I have received very good feedback for this tool. What makes Trellix Network Detection and Response stand out for me compared to other tools is the way you can detect threats. It is very easy and comfortable to use, and the detection shows clearly on the screen, which is very easy to understand. Regarding the features, I think that the integration with other platforms is very comfortable with the customer because we can integrate it with any switch or firewall, and it is comfortable to add this tool. Trellix Network Detection and Response has positively impacted my organization as I have improved my knowledge about detection and response. I have already used some other tools such as CrowdStrike and Umbrella, but Trellix is one of the best that I have tested. I believe that for my organization, Trellix has helped a lot with detection and supported our customers effectively. Trellix Network Detection and Response is a great tool that integrates with a lot of security tools such as Palo Alto, which is a good firewall. If you have these types of tools, your organization would benefit greatly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Using Fortinet FortiNDR as a bundle is cost-effective, providing a complete package of tools."
"The dashboards are very informative compared to other solutions like Cisco, providing valuable insights into network threats."
"Before FireEye, most of the times that an incident would happen nobody would be able to find out where or why the incident occurred and that the system is compromised, FireEye is a better product because if the incident already happened I know that the breach is there and that the system is compromised so we can take appropriate action to prevent anything from happening."
"Support is very helpful and responsive."
"The most valuable feature is MVX, which tests all of the files that have been received in an email, using virtual machines to test the behavior of the files and determine whether they are malicious in nature, blocking any abnormal activity and recording the hash value to submit to the cloud and add to the blacklist."
"The product has helped improve our organization by being easy to use and integrate. This saves time, trouble and money."
"There are sandbox capabilities; you can submit malicious files and get great feedback, including if there is malware and what it is doing, and it can give you simulations in different operating systems and applications to provide real insights from the perspective of a real environment."
"Application categorization is the most valuable feature for us. Application filtering is very interesting because other products don't give you full application filtering capabilities."
"Anyone who is looking for a complete network protection solution and does not have any budget issues should definitely go for it."
"Trellix Network Detection and Response helps increase response to attacks. One benefit is increased visibility and simplicity in maintaining it. AI analyzes and relates data based on past performance over the last five days."

Cons

"I would like to see the inclusion of sandboxing in the bundling. Currently, sandbox is not included in our package."
"There is room for improvement in third-party integrations, particularly with other vendors like Check Point and Palo Alto."
"The initial setup was complex because of the nature of our environment. When it comes to the type of applications and functions which we were looking at in terms of identifying malicious threats, there would be some level of complexity, if we were doing it right."
"Technical support needs improvement as sometimes engineers are not available promptly, especially during high-severity incidents."
"A better depth of view, being able to see deeper into the management process, is what I'd like to see."
"Its documentation can be improved. The main problem that I see with FireEye is the documentation."
"FireEye’s main feature is its sandboxing or threat emulation capabilities to detect malware with extra add-ons such as signature-based IPS or endpoint protection, but these features are lacking compared to most IPS or endpoint vendors."
"The solution's support needs to improve their support."
"The problem with FireEye is that they don't allow VM or sandbox customization. The user doesn't have control of the VMs that are inside the box. It comes from the vendor as-is. Some users like to have control of it. Like what type of Windows and what type of applications and they have zero control over this."
"Cybersecurity posture has room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"When you purchase FireEye Network Security NX, will need to purchase a megabit per second package. You must know your needs from day one."
"Pricing and licensing are reasonable compared to competitors."
"It's an expensive solution."
"We're partners with Cisco so we get a reasonable price. It's cheaper than Palo Alto in terms of licensing."
"Because of what the FireEye product does, it has significantly decreased our mean time in being able to identify and detect malicious threats. The company that I work with is a very mature organization, and we have seen the meantime to analysis decrease by at least tenfold."
"The pricing is fair, a little expensive, but fair. We've evaluated other products, and they're similarly priced."
"The user fee is not as high but the maintenance fee is expensive."
"The tool is a bit pricey."
