Sentiment score
6.2
SecurityScorecard helps organizations identify and mitigate risks, enhancing decision-making and proactive security against digital threats and breaches.
If you were moving from a traditional on-premise NAC that was 100% managed by the IT department, there would be great savings in going to a cloud-based NAC with Portnox.
The biggest benefit is visibility, allowing organizations to understand their risks, vulnerabilities, and potential threats.

Forescout Platform's customer service is responsive and helpful, but varies in response time, knowledge, and consistency.
Sentiment score
7.3
Portnox customer service is highly rated for responsiveness and efficiency, with room for improvement in local services and communication.
Sentiment score
5.8
SecurityScorecard's customer support is knowledgeable but slow, with resolution times of 1-3 days and satisfaction rates averaging 7/10.
They resolved issues quickly and provided clear explanations.
I was seeing weird things, and they were able to explain things to me and help me quickly find a resolution.
They respond very immediately and provide detailed, amazing support.
They need better organization to support their customer volume.

Scalability Issues

Sentiment score

Forescout Platform scales efficiently with seamless appliance additions, despite potential cost concerns, proving reliable in large deployments.
Sentiment score
7.5
Portnox is scalable and flexible, supporting growth efficiently, though larger setups may require more resources, rated seven to ten.
Sentiment score
7.0
SecurityScorecard is scalable for medium to large businesses but may not suit Fortune 500 due to scale issues.
Scalability can be costly since a physical box needs to be installed for every site.
The product is suitable for medium to large businesses, typically with a revenue range from $200 million to a couple of billion dollars.

Stability Issues

Sentiment score
8.0
Forescout Platform is praised for its stability and reliability, with minor issues that do not overshadow its performance.
Sentiment score
7.6
Portnox offers reliable uptime, though CORE users report issues with vendor support and configuration, while Clear performs smoothly.
Sentiment score
7.8
SecurityScorecard is highly stable with a 99.99% rating; users report no issues, except minor MS Edge adjustments.
I would rate its stability as 9.5 out of ten.
The product itself is available and its uptime is 100%.
In the four years that I used Portnox, if it crashed or the server crashed, that would not have been more than once.

Room For Improvement

Forescout Platform struggles with usability, integration, false positives, high costs, needing improved analytics, support, scalability, and simplified licensing.
Portnox can improve with better GUI, integration, scalability, support, licensing, false positives, documentation, and Wi-Fi and AI analytics.
Users seek improved support, better pricing, faster responses, mobile app scanning, and enhanced risk management features.
The console is a fat client, and a web interface would be preferable.
Ideally, we should be able to search for any MAC address in the database, regardless of its authentication status, to see all its associated groups and potential conflicts.
When I'm doing filtering at times, it doesn't filter the items properly.
They don't have much support during Asia Pacific hours.
There is a need for more active rather than passive third-party risk management features to truly mitigate risks.

Setup Cost

Forescout Platform is costly but offers flexible licensing and comprehensive features, competing well with Cisco ISE.
Portnox offers scalable, competitive pricing based on ports, with annual fees, appreciated value, but no perpetual license option.
SecurityScorecard pricing starts at $400/month, appealing for flexibility, though international users face extra currency fees.
Installing a physical box on each site can be expensive.
The pricing is a bit high, possibly due to the cloud features and running instances across regions like the US, Asia, and Europe.
If you compare Portnox with all other well-known standard products, it is the cheapest.
It is a bit on the high side, but considering the cloud features and how much it costs to run the instance in the cloud, it is not unreasonable.
There are more expensive and cheaper options available.

Valuable Features

Forescout Platform offers excellent device visibility, network control, and integration, praised for agentless operation, flexibility, and real-time alerts.
Portnox provides scalable, agentless network visibility with intuitive dashboards and automated security integration, enhancing efficiency and endpoint compliance.
SecurityScorecard enhances security with easy reporting, vendor analysis, threat monitoring, and risk assessments using threat intelligence and breach insights.
The platform enables automated policy enforcement, allowing us to simulate and test policies before enforcement, streamlining our security operations.
It's notable how Portnox has improved operational efficiency.
It is very easy to implement on our current network hardware.
You can see a PC connected to it, and you can tell which user the PC is using and which version of the OS it's running.
It combines threat intel data with vulnerability information to increase risk ratings and provides insights into third-party supply chain risks.

It's an easy and effective solution, especially for device profiling without agents
Forescout Platform's most valuable aspect is its excellent device profiling for devices without agents, which is crucial for our work due to challenges with agent-based devices. Its isolation and blocking actions are particularly effective for network security. The device compliance feature helps us ensure device compliance through immediate actions like updating antivirus software. We have already integrated Forescout with antivirus and vulnerability assessment tools, allowing it to monitor vulnerability scores and automatically isolate devices if critical vulnerabilities are detected.

It is seamless and integrates well with our Azure setup
We use devices like PLCs and controllers, and when we receive a request to allow one on the network, we bypass typical authentication, associate it with a group account, and push it to a firewalled VLAN. However, problems arise when the same MAC address is requested for a different project. Our current system only finds authenticated MAC addresses, making it difficult to troubleshoot when the same device is used for multiple purposes. Ideally, we should be able to search for any MAC address in the database, regardless of its authentication status, to see all its associated groups and potential conflicts.

Easy-to-deploy product with good technical support services
Our organization relies on numerous SaaS services for critical business functions, such as CRM and monitoring solutions. In a hypothetical scenario where a security breach occurs in the CRM database, potentially exposing our data and our clients, SecurityScorecard proves invaluable. It provides a security score, typically a percentage, based on extensive data collection from various sources, including the dark web and social networks. Let's say our CRM solution receives a security score of 78%, indicating a relatively safe status according to the information gathered by SecurityScorecard. One of its most effective features for risk identification is its enterprise-ready automation for third-party risk measurements. Additionally, it provides valuable insights into vulnerabilities within an organization, utilizing tools such as CVE details. For instance, it can assign a score based on vulnerabilities detected, such as 60%, and specify each vulnerability by its identifier. It offers scalability and can handle large volumes of real-time data. The continuous monitoring feature significantly enhances the ability to manage risks by providing real-time data collection on suppliers. We can observe fluctuations in their security levels over time, sometimes even every month. We can create alerts for high-risk situations, enabling organizations to respond promptly to potential security threats or vulnerabilities identified within their supplier network. The product's security ratings are helpful. While there may be occasional false positives, it does not function as a scanning solution. Instead, it presents the same information that hackers could potentially exploit. While I haven't worked with other cybersecurity rating solutions, I can attest to its strengths based on my experience. One notable advantage is their extensive data collection capabilities, surpassing many competitors in the market. They gather a wide range of information, resulting in a vast database that includes many suppliers or companies. It is easy to integrate with other tools. I rate it a nine out of ten.
