We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Everything can be seen from the dashboard.""ExtremeCloud offers features that not a lot of other vendors do like their data storage and the ability to swap licenses.""The most valuable feature is the centralized management capability.""What our customers like the most is that this device is so rugged. It has very good performance and throughput. Its console is very easy to use and has many features, which makes it different from its competitors. Cloud IQ has all the features built into the console, whereas other solutions require you to integrate multiple solutions with their consoles. You don't need to add anything extra with Cloud IQ. With this single solution, you can do almost everything.""I like ExtremeCloud IQ's unified single-pane-of-glass dashboard. It offers a lot of visibility of performance, and it's great for troubleshooting. You don't have to go to 55 different places. You can get the information you need with just a few clicks.""It's extremely easy to deploy. Even our access points are behind the net, not using real, public IP. We can easily add to the cloud. For deployment, we just need to let the access point take the DSCP from IP and then, even if it's not a requirement, we can see the serial number from the access points and add the serial number to the cloud directly.""The support organization behind this product is extremely professional.""The tech who handles Extreme IQ tells me it's easy to use and learn. He felt like it was pretty intuitive. It comes with solid training materials. He also has talked about the security features that give you as much or as little control as you want."

"Mojo Networks (Arista WiFi) is extremely secure with WIPS, built-in wireless.""Initial setup was straightforward.""The security is a valuable feature.""The configuration is simple and the reports can be automated."

Cons
"Its price could be lower. It is a simplified solution, but it has price challenges. It is costly as compared to other solutions. It has almost everything. The only thing is that MAC is not possible on the cloud, and it has to be on-premises.""Having a wizard for customers who are just starting might be helpful.""We'd like to have a cloud dashboard from which we can see all devices.""The managing of switches within this solution could be improved.""ExtremeCloud should invest in an SD-WAN solution or integration with SD-WAN.""The dashboard and stability need to be improved.""The licensing model could be improved.""A room for improvement in ExtremeCloud IQ is roaming. My team is facing roaming issues with the solution, particularly when using VoIP over WiFi. For example, VoIP sometimes breaks when you walk around the customer site. In terms of what I'd like to see in the next release of the solution, right now, the inventory for ExtremeCloud IQ is awful. There's no stock, and you must wait a year and a half for new stocks. It's awful."

More ExtremeCloud IQ Cons →

"The renewal costs that come with it are very expensive.""My only complaint about this product is its availability. Not many people can stock it and ordering from overseas is a challenge.""The setup was complex.""Something that could be improved is the ability to easily and quickly see what speed someone is on and if there are any issues on the network. We are using the older software technology, so maybe their newest version is able to do that."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I did a multi-year license. It was a three-year license. It compares well with others in terms of the price. It is about a hundred dollars per year on a three-year scale."
  • "It is not the cheapest product but I think that the price is reasonable because you get a lot of support of it's needed."
  • "It is costly as compared to Meraki, Aruba, Juniper, and Cisco. Cloud IQ is an enterprise solution, whereas Meraki is specifically a single solution."
  • "The price was okay."
  • "It is easy for customers to use this product because they are able to interchange the license depending on their usage rather than having to buy individual licenses for each asset."
  • "This solution offers annual licensing that is middle of the range in terms of cost."
  • "Extreme is twice as cheap compared to Cisco due to the currency exchange. Normally, I think Cisco would be a little bit more expensive, but there wouldn't be that much of a difference."

  • "It requires a license and that's a recurring cost and that has a really high cheque value."
  • "The price of the solution is too high for our country."
  • "The cost is a one-time fee."
