Helps resolve network-related issues quickly and is reasonably priced
The tool has both advantages and weaknesses because it has several pieces of software on which it has been working because of buyouts. The tool has several branches of software versions, and you can consolidate it into ExtremeCloud, but it also has the disadvantage that sometimes people can get issues because the software on the hardware is different than they expected, especially if it is not converted to the tool used. The tool has simplified things, but it also adds a complexity that sometimes stumps some users. In the future, I think the tool’s onboarding setup of a new tenant could be smoother or faster. I also think that they could provide a simpler setup for first-level support so that it can be easier for them to have a support dashboard that would help them. I am talking about customer support organizations, so you usually have a high turnaround, but you need to have something that is easier to use and where you don't need so much training.

Offers great control and visibility to users, along with availability on the cloud
The other solutions did not offer the visibility that Mojo Networks offered. During the rolling out of the installation process, you have to go through the on-premises model to be able to make some changes. If somebody needs to make necessary changes, you must go to the on-premises model with the initial product. With the cloud solution, you don't have to go for the on-premises model, as you can make the changes over the cloud. The stability offered by Mojo Networks is better than the other products available in the market since, with other tools, you need to keep restarting them frequently, and it may be required once or twice a day, especially if it is used as an enterprise solution or in an enterprise environment, where the traffic is too high, causing the build-up of a lot of cache memory, fill-ups, and SRAM, a reason why one will have to restart such products.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Ability to assign zero trust policies from the user."
"Another valuable feature is the automation of Wi-Fi configurations, which allows the wireless network to auto-reconfigure in case of problems."
"What our customers like the most is that this device is so rugged. It has very good performance and throughput. Its console is very easy to use and has many features, which makes it different from its competitors. Cloud IQ has all the features built into the console, whereas other solutions require you to integrate multiple solutions with their consoles. You don't need to add anything extra with Cloud IQ. With this single solution, you can do almost everything."
"What I like best about ExtremeCloud IQ is its ease of use. Flexibility is another pro of ExtremeCloud IQ. I also find ExtremeCloud IQ feature-rich."
"The cloud-based management interface allows us to fully manage all our wireless radios, ensuring consistency and ease of access."
"The tech who handles Extreme IQ tells me it's easy to use and learn. He felt like it was pretty intuitive. It comes with solid training materials. He also has talked about the security features that give you as much or as little control as you want."
"The deployment made my life very easy."
"Everything can be seen from the dashboard."
"The most valuable feature is the seamless connection between the end-user on the wireless side."
"It is a hundred percent scalable product since its functionalities are good...It is a very stable product."
"The solution is very stable."
"For support, we do not have to deal with a whole phone menu tree. You get to talk to an engineer right away."
"We have found Mojo to be critical for us because of its patented security and its wireless intrusion prevention system (WIPS). It is unique in the market."
"We just plugged it in and it worked. That just doesn't happen. We plugged it in and it worked and all 100 kids got on the test and started testing."
"The most important feature is ease of use. We can simply take an access point and plug it in, then it is automatically configured for us."
"It has given us a huge leg-up when competing with other managed service providers who use different vendors because of the visibility it gives us to customers' traffic for troubleshooting purposes."

Cons

"Integrating the network access control solution can be complex, as it essentially combines two separate products."
"Certain features only exist or work in certain versions."
"ExtremeCloud IQ’s user interface needs to be improved, and its current bugs need to be fixed."
"I would like to see more security features such as NAC integrated to the solution. This would allow customers to be able to control all other users under one dashboard."
"The product could support multi-vendor infrastructures."
"A mobile app would be awesome."
"The solution's performance needs to be enhanced because of a very high delay."
"Its price could be lower. It is a simplified solution, but it has price challenges. It is costly as compared to other solutions. It has almost everything. The only thing is that MAC is not possible on the cloud, and it has to be on-premises."
"The renewal costs that come with it are very expensive."
"Something that could be improved is the ability to easily and quickly see what speed someone is on and if there are any issues on the network. We are using the older software technology, so maybe their newest version is able to do that."
"The solution is a bit pricier than Cisco."
"I would like to have a single pane of glass to better control the access point and the switching."
"The distribution can be improved, particularly in this part of the world."
"Needs greater simplicity in the management portal. Currently, the Mojo portal presents different “apps” to configure the devices, create splash pages, configure security settings, and monitor the network. This can be confusing, although Mojo has made great strides in combining these into “Aware”."
"The implementation could be simplified. Right now it's a bit complex."
"The user interface could use improvement, and Mojo is working on it. The features and functions are in two different places, and they are in the process of moving them into one place."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"ExtremeCloud IQ's pricing is medium, but its support contract costs more."
"This solution offers annual licensing that is middle of the range in terms of cost."
"Buy near the end of Q4 in order to get a deal."
"It is easy for customers to use this product because they are able to interchange the license depending on their usage rather than having to buy individual licenses for each asset."
"ExtremeCloud IQ's pricing is high."
"Price-wise, it is a reasonable tool."
"Extreme licensing is based on the number of access points. When you buy the license for the first year, everything is included, such as access to mapping, etc. If you don't renew your software assurance for the second year, the access points will still work, but you can't use the cloud management tools."
"It is costly as compared to Meraki, Aruba, Juniper, and Cisco. Cloud IQ is an enterprise solution, whereas Meraki is specifically a single solution."
"In Australian dollars, we buy it for five years at $1,200."
"Pricing includes the planning tools, management, security, analytics, and advanced guest WiFi capabilities. It's always better to buy the longest term available for the best ROI. However, device will continue to function without valid cloud license."
"They have been a great price competitor against some of the other big brands, like Meraki, especially for cloud-based WiFi. However, Meraki has been more expensive. They beat Meraki on features for the WiFi, which makes them a better choice even if the price is the same."
"The price of the solution is too high for our country."
"I rate the product's price as an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"The pricing was a good value and substantially less than some of the other products that we looked at. In some cases, with some of the big names, this product was even close to half the price."
"The cost is a one-time fee."
"The license is provided per access point, so you buy an access point and you use it."
