Average solution with good workflow but needs to improve machine learning
The configuration can be a bit much. The AML engine part could be better. It's not easy to train. It's not so easy to train the system. If it's not trained, the accuracy will be off. They need to improve data quality. They need to start from scratch with the AML. They need to add on the document processing tool. It's getting there; it just need to be expanded. I haven't used the reporting too much. However, it would be helpful to have it more robust. The solution does require a lot of RAM.

Significantly reduces manual effort and improves team workflows through automated ticketing
We've used Agent Builder, IXP, and Maestro for orchestration. We have created context-grounded searches or chatbots using context grounding, and we also use context grounding within an Agentic flow where a bot or agent reads ServiceNow tickets to determine whether it has been assigned to the right work group. If it has not been assigned correctly due to human error, it automatically reassigns it to the right group. I would assess Agentic AI's ability to extract data points as effective. We created an agent for the purpose of extracting data, though not in a document. We created what we call an email conversation agent that engages with a customer, vendor, or someone in an email conversation with a set goal of extracting specific data points for an action to be performed subsequently. The one automation we have deployed in production involves the agent interacting with team members to collect data points and create a ServiceNow ticket. We appreciate almost all features of UiPath Platform, with one of the most successful ones being the use of Coms Mining. Most of the new features related to AI have all been good, and we use Agentic. We have already created a few agents and have started to use Maestro for a few flows, though we are not yet there to orchestrate an end-to-end workflow. We have good ROI from the automations we have developed with UiPath Platform, which far exceeds the investment in the platform. It has saved us tens of thousands of hours in manual effort, making the team members happy to pursue other things of value.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Transact's best feature is its ease of customization."
"I like the inject feature. With desktop injects, we're doing all these things and extracting these things. Its stable, scalable, and technical support is good."
"I have found the keyword extraction to be helpful."
"UiPath's learning modules have been a massive help in training our employees. The Orchestrator also helps us schedule, deploy, and monitor jobs."
"The setup was very easy. We're in the cloud, so it's very simple."
"UiPath Platform is good at detecting UIs."
"With this solution, it has a more hands on GUI-based feature."
"UiPath integrates well with Elasticsearch, which is a great search engine."
"I also appreciate UiPath Apps; while more can be done with UiPath Apps, we've been leveraging that and the Document Understanding part of things."
"The UiPath community has been great. There are a lot of great mentorships, a lot of forums, and a lot of people who are very interested in growing the community. It's been very nice to work with them. Anybody who is in UiPath has been an amazing partner for us."
"The most valuable feature of the software is not the software itself, but the community that supports it. When I first started learning the software to support a program, I had to self-teach; there wasn't a budget for training. But going through their learning platform and then connecting with the community when I didn't understand how to utilize some of the functionality, that was far more powerful than the product itself. The network around the product is amazing."

Cons

"It's not easy to train."
"Their email service and extraction could be better. We get the input via email, and these emails contain different types of documents like Excel, PDF, or they may contain different content in the email body. Due to this variation, sometimes the email service crashes, and emails aren't redirected to Ephesoft Transact. Ephesoft has provided us with new hotfixes. Whatever flaws we found in the 2019.2 version, they have already updated it in the new version, 20.1.05, and it's already released. Drawbacks like not capturing the handwritten fields are now sorted."
"Transact could be improved by removing Java and making its pricing more accessible for smaller customers."
"The graphics could always be improved."
"There are some selector issues when it comes to web automation and desktop automation. There is a robot selector. When we feed the data, it tries to fetch the UI elements from that particular data, but that's not happening 100%. That could have some improvements."
"UiPath's process mining needs to improve a lot. The generated reports are difficult to analyze by ordinary people. Task mining reports are also difficult."
"I rate UiPath support six out of 10. It's primarily an email-based model. Sometimes we have questions, and it takes days for them to respond and sort our issue out."
"We have been looking at Attended Robots, which result in the inability to lock your screen. That is simply a no-go for ever using them in most government agencies, as IT security will prohibit us from using them. If UiPath wants Attended Robots to be used inside a government agency, it needs to be applicable on a virtual desktop."
"The pricing can be a big factor for a lot of users. It could be reduced to help more companies leverage its automation capabilities."
"Our solution is on-premises so we are unable to utilize phone apps."
"As a business-based person who handles engineering and IT from the business side, I can say that improvements would be beneficial in the automation of the entire software development life cycle through more agents, similar to the testing automation currently being done."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Initially, when I got a licensed copy of Ephesoft Transact, it was for one year. After one year, we had to send an email to the Ephesoft team informing them that our license was going to expire. They updated it and provided one license in our file, and we had to update and install the folder. They have versions for one year and lifelong as well."
"Transact's pricing could be better for smaller customers."
"Over and above the subscription fees, we're paying probably $51,000 a year right now."
"It is quite an expensive solution."
"The solution uses a licensing model."
"The pricing differs on the requirements. If there is a huge purchase, then we get a discount. There is not a fixed pricing of the product."
"UiPath is not cheap."
"If you want to do a demo trial, it is a 30 days free."
"The price of UiPath is higher than competitors, although the cost depends on what functionality and tools you require"
"UiPath is expensive compared to the competition."
