Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like the inject feature. With desktop injects, we're doing all these things and extracting these things. Its stable, scalable, and technical support is good.""Transact's best feature is its ease of customization.""I have found the keyword extraction to be helpful."

"The solution reduces human error significantly.""One thing that I personally like very much is the drag-and-drop capability in UiPath. I don't have a coding background. One of the major selling points of the solution is that it requires very minimal coding to create a program. It's very easy to drag and drop to create the required fields from the tool.""The user community is definitely useful.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the training that is available.""It's just easy. It streamlines our activities very well.""UiPath handles the infrastructure, maintenance, and updates as a managed service, and that means we don't have to take care of those things. All future updates and enhancements are managed by them.""The most valuable feature really depends on the use case. My favorite now is Document Understanding and the AI models that are being pre-trained. That's allowing us to do more, out-of-the-box, without having to do custom programming.""The initial setup was pretty straightforward."

Cons
"Their email service and extraction could be better. We get the input via email, and these emails contain different types of documents like Excel, PDF, or they may contain different content in the email body. Due to this variation, sometimes the email service crashes, and emails aren't redirected to Ephesoft Transact. Ephesoft has provided us with new hotfixes. Whatever flaws we found in the 2019.2 version, they have already updated it in the new version, 20.1.05, and it's already released. Drawbacks like not capturing the handwritten fields are now sorted.""It's not easy to train.""Transact could be improved by removing Java and making its pricing more accessible for smaller customers."

"If we want to learn something new about UiPath, we sometimes cannot learn it directly from the UiPath Academy. We have to go and search on the web. It takes a few searches to find the solution. We do find it, but it takes time. UiPath should give the solution in one area.""What happens when a selector breaks? That means that something has changed in the application... UiPath could do a better job of enveloping selectors to make them less fragile... That is the one area that is the biggest pain point. It happens all the time... They should reduce selector sensitivity and improve remediation when one does break.""The UiPath Community does not provide version control for the community edition.""The pricing could be more friendly.""Dynamic Selectors should have a specific chapter apart, as most of the tools are currently driven as such.""We have had some problems with processing errors, but these are largely due to our legacy system and UiPath is working to help resolve the issue.""Debugging needs improvement in UiPath because I need to do it from scratch whenever I have to debug a code. I have to run the entire code from the start and then check the pointers. If a specific action can be developed in UiPath, instead of running the code from the beginning, it would allow you to debug the code from the point that needs debugging, saving a significant amount of time.""There was a security block because, manually, people still worked with the older versions, but the bot wanted the latest upgrade from the application, so in some cases, there was a delay or failure, or the bot got killed. It was a mixed bag, so I cannot say it was one hundred percent successful, which is an area for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Initially, when I got a licensed copy of Ephesoft Transact, it was for one year. After one year, we had to send an email to the Ephesoft team informing them that our license was going to expire. They updated it and provided one license in our file, and we had to update and install the folder. They have versions for one year and lifelong as well."
  • "Transact's pricing could be better for smaller customers."
  • More Ephesoft Transact Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "It costs much less and it does much more than the competitors' solutions."
  • "The pricing differs on the requirements. If there is a huge purchase, then we get a discount. There is not a fixed pricing of the product."
  • "If you want to do a demo trial, it is a 30 days free."
  • "The community edition is completely free. Then, people say, "There is nothing to lose, let me try it.""
  • "There are operational benefits in terms of time savings and user satisfaction of not having to do menial, repetitive tasks."
  • "Traditionally, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism are the biggest things competing against UiPath. Those are usually what most of the clients lean towards, if they see a cheaper licensing option. Clients choose UiPath because it's easier to deploy and learn within their teams."
  • "We saw ROI in 15 days."
  • "They give it away in the community edition for free, so I use it at home."
