Average solution with good workflow but needs to improve machine learning
The configuration can be a bit much. The AML engine part could be better. It's not easy to train. It's not so easy to train the system. If it's not trained, the accuracy will be off. They need to improve data quality. They need to start from scratch with the AML. They need to add on the document processing tool. It's getting there; it just need to be expanded. I haven't used the reporting too much. However, it would be helpful to have it more robust. The solution does require a lot of RAM.

Significantly reduces manual effort and improves team workflows through automated ticketing
We've used Agent Builder, IXP, and Maestro for orchestration. We have created context-grounded searches or chatbots using context grounding, and we also use context grounding within an Agentic flow where a bot or agent reads ServiceNow tickets to determine whether it has been assigned to the right work group. If it has not been assigned correctly due to human error, it automatically reassigns it to the right group. I would assess Agentic AI's ability to extract data points as effective. We created an agent for the purpose of extracting data, though not in a document. We created what we call an email conversation agent that engages with a customer, vendor, or someone in an email conversation with a set goal of extracting specific data points for an action to be performed subsequently. The one automation we have deployed in production involves the agent interacting with team members to collect data points and create a ServiceNow ticket. We appreciate almost all features of UiPath Platform, with one of the most successful ones being the use of Coms Mining. Most of the new features related to AI have all been good, and we use Agentic. We have already created a few agents and have started to use Maestro for a few flows, though we are not yet there to orchestrate an end-to-end workflow. We have good ROI from the automations we have developed with UiPath Platform, which far exceeds the investment in the platform. It has saved us tens of thousands of hours in manual effort, making the team members happy to pursue other things of value.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like the inject feature. With desktop injects, we're doing all these things and extracting these things. Its stable, scalable, and technical support is good."
"Transact's best feature is its ease of customization."
"I have found the keyword extraction to be helpful."
"I like the automation capabilities."
"The prebuilt AI models that are available in AI Center are valuable to us for things like invoice processing."
"Using this solution has allowed us to enter a lot of customer data into our system in a much quicker and more efficient manner."
"I rate the scalability of UiPath, ten out of ten."
"The product has freed up employee time - and it's not just the employee time. We do have some triggers that run. Some jobs are run that people use to manually do at night and weekends. We also don't have to hire additional people just to learn 80 different types of things in a claim and identify correctness manually. The robots will go through and then they can identify if there are specific things that are wrong. That part will go to our experts and they'll review those exact issues."
"UiPath has reduced human error and saved employee time."
"We see time savings for our users in the sense that they now can do more tasks that should have been done all along but weren't getting done. That's more where the gains have been this far."
"The fact that we have the opportunity to access all of our services without any requirements from our side suits us very well."

Cons

"Their email service and extraction could be better. We get the input via email, and these emails contain different types of documents like Excel, PDF, or they may contain different content in the email body. Due to this variation, sometimes the email service crashes, and emails aren't redirected to Ephesoft Transact. Ephesoft has provided us with new hotfixes. Whatever flaws we found in the 2019.2 version, they have already updated it in the new version, 20.1.05, and it's already released. Drawbacks like not capturing the handwritten fields are now sorted."
"It's not easy to train."
"Transact could be improved by removing Java and making its pricing more accessible for smaller customers."
"Dynamic Selectors should have a specific chapter apart, as most of the tools are currently driven as such."
"Looking to go from structured to unstructured data, then UiPath needs to be able to handle understanding natural language and scanning of documents which are not well-written or visible, in terms scanning quality. These are probably the easiest target areas to improve on first."
"I have been working on UiPath Apps for the last six months, and there are a few things to improve. The tables are not working properly. There are issues with the table display and the filter function in the tables. There is also an alignment issue. You can't edit the alignment of buttons."
"We have to change our account representative every year, which is frustrating. We have to re-explain our business every year."
"The data team support that provides the UI and the chat services has room for improvement."
"At this point, we consider ourselves break even. We're a small team, so we're not able to do as much new development since we're all focused on trying to do maintenance and support of existing automations."
"Better alignment of workflows for development is needed."
"The licensing could be more flexible."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Transact's pricing could be better for smaller customers."
"Initially, when I got a licensed copy of Ephesoft Transact, it was for one year. After one year, we had to send an email to the Ephesoft team informing them that our license was going to expire. They updated it and provided one license in our file, and we had to update and install the folder. They have versions for one year and lifelong as well."
"The licensing cost is high."
"I can estimate our licensing costs are approximately $100,000 USD per year."
"When there's a massive deployment of robots, pricing for UiPath becomes costly, as you must purchase different licenses for UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, etc."
"If you use the cloud model of the UiPath, it will reduce a lot of the total cost. Its AI functionality hasn't enabled us much to automate more processes. Most of the time, when we propose those functions, we don't have an agreement with the client because of the license price. Currently, the license price is the major obstacle."
"From a cost perspective, unattended robots are better."
"UiPath is not cheap."
"Pricing is quite reasonable with UiPath and there are some tools which are free to use."
"As an application, it is not very expensive. It's very reasonable."
