Average solution with good workflow but needs to improve machine learning
The configuration can be a bit much. The AML engine part could be better. It's not easy to train. It's not so easy to train the system. If it's not trained, the accuracy will be off. They need to improve data quality. They need to start from scratch with the AML. They need to add on the document processing tool. It's getting there; it just need to be expanded. I haven't used the reporting too much. However, it would be helpful to have it more robust. The solution does require a lot of RAM.

Significantly reduces manual effort and improves team workflows through automated ticketing
We've used Agent Builder, IXP, and Maestro for orchestration. We have created context-grounded searches or chatbots using context grounding, and we also use context grounding within an Agentic flow where a bot or agent reads ServiceNow tickets to determine whether it has been assigned to the right work group. If it has not been assigned correctly due to human error, it automatically reassigns it to the right group. I would assess Agentic AI's ability to extract data points as effective. We created an agent for the purpose of extracting data, though not in a document. We created what we call an email conversation agent that engages with a customer, vendor, or someone in an email conversation with a set goal of extracting specific data points for an action to be performed subsequently. The one automation we have deployed in production involves the agent interacting with team members to collect data points and create a ServiceNow ticket. We appreciate almost all features of UiPath Platform, with one of the most successful ones being the use of Coms Mining. Most of the new features related to AI have all been good, and we use Agentic. We have already created a few agents and have started to use Maestro for a few flows, though we are not yet there to orchestrate an end-to-end workflow. We have good ROI from the automations we have developed with UiPath Platform, which far exceeds the investment in the platform. It has saved us tens of thousands of hours in manual effort, making the team members happy to pursue other things of value.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Transact's best feature is its ease of customization."
"I have found the keyword extraction to be helpful."
"I like the inject feature. With desktop injects, we're doing all these things and extracting these things. Its stable, scalable, and technical support is good."
"The solution is quick and easy to implement. It's fairly easy, and it means clients don't have to get IT involved."
"The solution is easy to use, has a good user interface, and processes transactions quickly."
"My favorite features of UiPath Platform are Action Center and Document Understanding, as I'm in Action Center all day; the benefits of these features for my organization are significant, especially with tariffs right now, as we're trying to save as much money as we can."
"The feature I appreciate the most on UiPath Platform is the web interface."
"Within UiPath Cloud itself, UiPath Insights has been excellent. Insights is one of the newer features we were excited about because we built custom reports, captured all that data in one place, and leveraged it in different areas. That was a challenge for us and created a support burden. We're automation developers, not report developers. When leadership wanted a new metric or anything, figuring it out was always a pain."
"In my particular job function, Automation Hub has been invaluable. We have set up an Automation Hub specific to what we need within our team to be able to solicit automation ideas from our business users. It helps us to be able to review those ideas, meet with our functions and ask them more questions, and build our value case as well, so Automation Hub has been huge for us."
"I would definitely recommend this product to other enterprises as it is an enterprise-grade level RPA software, although it might not suit organizations operating at a lower scale or margin due to cost."
"Our key focus is on eliminating time-consuming tasks and enhancing reliability, especially in repetitive processes, which is where automation has proven to be a significant asset."

Cons

"Their email service and extraction could be better. We get the input via email, and these emails contain different types of documents like Excel, PDF, or they may contain different content in the email body. Due to this variation, sometimes the email service crashes, and emails aren't redirected to Ephesoft Transact. Ephesoft has provided us with new hotfixes. Whatever flaws we found in the 2019.2 version, they have already updated it in the new version, 20.1.05, and it's already released. Drawbacks like not capturing the handwritten fields are now sorted."
"Transact could be improved by removing Java and making its pricing more accessible for smaller customers."
"It's not easy to train."
"I would like to see a universal recorder feature added so that we can record Excel macros. You could then click a button to record the screen, and then all the actions across applications would be recorded. This functionality is available already in Automation Anywhere, but the last time I checked, it was not available in UiPath."
"There has been a huge improvement in Linux, Microsoft, and Mac support recently. However, we still struggle with the implementation in Citrix environments. The solution works with Citrix, but there is room for improvement."
"I would like to see ongoing integrations with different applications. For example, we have UKG, which is an HRIS or HCM system. I'd love to see if there could be some sort of connection there because there are definitely some HR stuff from onboarding and offboarding that we do in the HCM that I'd love to have UiPath help with."
"The tool needs to have more documentation and change logs. Minor upgrades break a few things."
"The fast growth of UiPath can be difficult to keep up with, so more informative sessions or webinars showcasing potential returns on investment for specific industries would be beneficial."
"Sometimes, in my experience, Picture In Picture is a bit buggy. It takes over your control, then the controls get mixed. That is one of few issues that I have found."
"Capturing ROI needs improvement. I would also like for it to have more logging mechanisms in Orchestrator."
"Looking to go from structured to unstructured data, then UiPath needs to be able to handle understanding natural language and scanning of documents which are not well-written or visible, in terms scanning quality. These are probably the easiest target areas to improve on first."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Transact's pricing could be better for smaller customers."
"Initially, when I got a licensed copy of Ephesoft Transact, it was for one year. After one year, we had to send an email to the Ephesoft team informing them that our license was going to expire. They updated it and provided one license in our file, and we had to update and install the folder. They have versions for one year and lifelong as well."
"I rate UiPath a five out of ten for affordability. UiPath costs a bit more than other tools like Blue Prism and Automation Anywhere."
"The licensing fees for this solution are approximately $100,000 USD annually."
"Traditionally, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism are the biggest things competing against UiPath. Those are usually what most of the clients lean towards, if they see a cheaper licensing option. Clients choose UiPath because it's easier to deploy and learn within their teams."
"The main complaint I receive about UiPath is the pricing."
"The Community Edition is free for everyone and you get all the features, but there is a limitation on the number of bots. The Enterprise Edition is a bit costly for the advanced features."
"Initially, it maybe was $8,000 or $10,000. However, as the number of bots increases, the pricing has to come down. That said, with volume, we don't see that."
"The investment is relatively small compared to the potential in qualitative and quantitative benefits that can be achieved."
"The price of UiPath is a little bit high, although there are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
