Enhanced product search for effective order management challenges and satisfactory support
Previously, the main purpose was for e-commerce. They implemented features like placing orders and searching orders. They used Oracle Endeca extensively for searching the products, and Oracle ATG for creating a user interface where customers could place orders Previously, it used to serve the…

Easy to set up, and extremely scalable, but is expensive
The solution is complex due to the rapid development of new features in SAP Commerce, which requires the changing of older technologies and migration to new ones. This makes the process quite complex, especially when migrating from one version to another. For example, I have been using SAP Commerce versions 18 and 19.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a scalable solution."
"The most valuable features of Oracle Commerce Cloud are it provides all sorts of administrative essentials for our commerce. It helps deliver products from production from the supplier to the customer."
"The variety of options available, like customization for quotes or any sale module I require, is available in Oracle Compass Cloud for customers."
"The search had extended functionality, allowing searches with product code, subcategories, barcode, partial descriptions, etc."
"Hybris Commerce's most valuable feature is the simple integration with ERP."
"SAP Hybris provides us with all of the e-commerce features that a client could need."
"We have found the B2B, B2C and D2C very valuable."
"The simple steps for configuring your checkout processes, as well as the promotional engine, are the most valuable features of this solution."
"The user interface can be customized."
"If you have a client and they want to have an e-commerce project that is based on solid principles, you don't need too much time to develop it."
"The tool has good performance."
"Some of the most valuable features are its personalized offering, promotion engine, and customer support module."

Cons

"They should provide integration with social networking sites."
"Oracle Commerce Cloud could improve the accessibility features."
"Some accessibility improvements would be beneficial in their components."
"ATG is not evolving much, and there's a huge license cost."
"SAP Commerce needs to have a credit limit like Salesforce. Currently, we have to do the coding and customization and then showcase it to the user."
"In terms of what could be improved, I would say the product search. There will be multiple criteria to search products and there will be a number of products in different categories. The question is how soon can I find the product which I'm looking for. The search can be improved."
"The initial setup was complex because it was a prime migration from the PrestaShop platform to commerce cloud, and it was very, very complex to migrate some data from one side to the other."
"It is very expensive to implement, which is why many companies who can't afford would normally move to Salesforce or Magento."
"Like every other SAP solution, it is very heavy. Also, the transition to the cloud is not very smooth because it is not really a SaaS solution. The upgrades are also not as smooth as you would expect from a complete cloud solution. It should have a product recommendation feature as well as a promotional feature. It should also have more personalizations."
"They have just started to work with the cloud, but they only support Microsoft Azure."
"A public cloud solution of this software would open great possibilities."
"The support team should improve the response time."
