Better support and more accessible resources are crucial. Customers have expressed that support is not as flexible, and it is difficult to obtain necessary information quickly. Customers would benefit from improved training material for integration with other products. The solution's pricing is high and needs to be reconsidered, and the technical support should improve to provide more accessible and open information.

Provides a stable solution but would improve by developing an all-in-one-solution
The advice I would give to anyone looking at implementing Netreo into their organization would be to do your market research and evaluate the product, do not just choose it because someone recommends it to you. Overall, from my perspective, I would rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It helps us to reduce the time and cost involved and the number of employees involved."
"Easy admin functionality. You can quickly do all the admin functionality without reducing cycles."
"Monitoring has been easy and streamlined, and its ability to integrate with CA SDM and its capability to receive SNMP traps from other tools makes it simple to integrate."
"I believe that the fundamentals and the logic of how UIM is set up is very stable, providing the essentials to extract data from an environment, present it through a front-end using graphs and charts, and allow for crucial analysis on the collected data, with UIM doing a good job of managing all the steps along the way."
"Nimsoft shines like the sun compared to ProactiveNet with night and day differences in stability, scalability, functionality, features, and quality of support."
"Unified Management Portal (UMP) is the most valuable feature, as it did a lot of health monitoring for our environment to prevent some issues from happening."
"You really do get a lot in return, especially when you have a highly heterogeneous environment."
"The most valuable features of UIM are that it's scalable and it's relatively easy to set up monitoring on the servers."
"The technical support team at Netreo is pretty good."

Cons

"Stability."
"The initial setup is pretty complex."
"We have products that we’re moving away from that have a better GUI and they’re 15 years old."
"I would like to see auditability. We've built our own audit functionality to ensure that every CI has the desired model configuration applied to it. And we run that on a daily basis. If that became part of the product, I think it might be a little bit less intensive in terms of resource, because we're doing it with scripts."
"Multi-tenancy for ICMP profiles of servers is not there."
"It is a little complex to use versus other softwares."
"We have experienced challenges with finding a mechanism to deploy the agents, but it's only on the first deployment so it's not a big issue."
"Open source and acquired components are often bolted on and integrated poorly."
"The scalability of Netreo is lacking."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Reasonable setup cost and licensing prices."
"This product is expensive compared to other vendors (SolarWinds, ManageEngine)."
"The license cost depends on the number of probes and robots."
"CAD $400,000 annually."
"The product-price ratio is better than other brands such as Fortinet or SonicWall."
"Pricing for DX Unified Infrastructure Management isn't cheap at all. It's a complex tool, so you have to pay more. No one is happy with a large bill to pay, but if it's a complex product and you designed a complex solution to be monitored, it'll be your fault that you need to buy an expensive product, and that would be implicit in the design of DX Unified Infrastructure Management. Monitoring is just a small part of it. Sometimes you have to pay a significant amount of money for a complex yet very good solution."
