Better support and more accessible resources are crucial. Customers have expressed that support is not as flexible, and it is difficult to obtain necessary information quickly. Customers would benefit from improved training material for integration with other products. The solution's pricing is high and needs to be reconsidered, and the technical support should improve to provide more accessible and open information.

Provides a stable solution but would improve by developing an all-in-one-solution
The advice I would give to anyone looking at implementing Netreo into their organization would be to do your market research and evaluate the product, do not just choose it because someone recommends it to you. Overall, from my perspective, I would rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has provided insight on almost all our information system components/layers using a single unified solution."
"The second major feature is the user-friendly interface; it's the best feature for our customers, because we are the implementers of the software."
"The ability to monitor any platform. We have Windows, Linux, AIX, and mainframe all being monitored with the same UIM infrastructure."
"The dashboarding is pretty extensive and is easy to use."
"In the past we would spend months in meetings with a new customer, defining what they wanted to monitor, and most of the time we would come back home to see if that was possible to do, however, with CA UIM, we can provide our clients with a predefined menu of items to collect, and we can select those faster and more efficiently."
"It provides a comprehensive monitoring solution for our open systems."
"We are transitioning to a proactive monitoring; by using thresholds and predictive analysis, we are reducing incidents."
"Through action automation (using NAS and robot actions) we got reduced operational effort, improved operative tasks, and optimization of resources."
"The technical support team at Netreo is pretty good."

Cons

"The reporting part could be improved."
"Continuing to mature the SNP collector and the network side of the tools they're still not as strong as they need to be."
"Technical support is OK. It varies depending on issues."
"The UIM has no features through goods and services yet. "
"Support from the vendor has generally been rather slow and ineffective, at least in our case."
"Also, the thick client administration tool is archaic, slow, and cumbersome."
"It's too modular in the sense that there is not an awareness of things."
"It was complex, due to the configuration that we already had with another tool, implementing everything again took us longer than planned; it really is a difficult tool to configure, specifically in our infrastructure."
"The scalability of Netreo is lacking."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The license cost depends on the number of probes and robots."
"CAD $400,000 annually."
"Reasonable setup cost and licensing prices."
"This product is expensive compared to other vendors (SolarWinds, ManageEngine)."
"Pricing for DX Unified Infrastructure Management isn't cheap at all. It's a complex tool, so you have to pay more. No one is happy with a large bill to pay, but if it's a complex product and you designed a complex solution to be monitored, it'll be your fault that you need to buy an expensive product, and that would be implicit in the design of DX Unified Infrastructure Management. Monitoring is just a small part of it. Sometimes you have to pay a significant amount of money for a complex yet very good solution."
"The product-price ratio is better than other brands such as Fortinet or SonicWall."
