Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The product provides a native user experience without requiring users to install additional software or agents.""What I like best about this product is the interface.""I like that it is Windows-based. It is good that primarily, it is not an appliance. Some of the other applications in the space, such as a Quest Software CPAM or a Safeguard, are appliances, so you can't deploy the ends of them. With Thycotic, you can either install your Temporal Protection module physically in the VM host, or you can use BouncyCastle for high-security module capabilities.""Its most valuable feature is its main purpose - the password changing and the Heartbeat so the user has access to only their SVN and does not have access to any other. Thycotic's access privileged management tool allows you to grant access to users for a specific period of time and with specific attributes and privileges.""One of the features I find most valuable is workflow, which allows you to configure the solution to have multiple approvals.""Delinea's network integration is the most useful. For example, I use a Check Point firewall connect to SmartConsole, so I need to do a lot of configuration in Delinea Secret Server. Native integration with Check Point is valuable. You can also go download whatever API you need from the cloud, whether you're using Check Point, Palo Alto, etc. Enriched discovery is another good feature. If you are dealing with several kinds of systems, you can see which system requires privileged access to my network.""The secret template, password rotation, and recording sessions are the most valuable.""Technical support is pretty good."

"A useful solution for storing encryption keys, programming and developing a SaaS platform.""Password sharing and SSO. These features almost become a necessity to make sure that company data is safe and reduce the possibility of data breach.""It keeps my passwords organized and safe.""It has a double authentication factor increasing the security level.""The possibility of assigning information to different groups and individuals has been the most valuable.""Possibility to login using the fingerprint sensor on Android/iPhone.""I like a couple of things about this solution. Being able to share passwords with other people is valuable. You can see if the information is out on the dark web and whether you have weak passwords and the last time they were changed. You could also have the 2FA or MFA codes embedded in the application so that you don't have to use your phone or any other 2FA device, which is something very important.""I can access my passwords from any Internet connected device."

Cons
"Improvements are needed in session management, behavioral analytics, and the reporting segment.""Delinea Secret Server needs to improve its reporting.""I think that the main interface should integrate better with non-standard applications and clients, to connect with other systems.""The initial setup and deployment can be cumbersome. It's not an easy process.""I'd prefer a better commercial model that includes partners and options for consulting around it. Where I've worked with my customers, we've only been able to use their professional services, and that has been a risk and constraint.""It is expensive compared to other solutions in this category and for what it does.""I don't know what kind of a cryptographic it uses to encrypt the password but it should be one of the stronger ones. Some of the cryptos have been accessed by hackers.""Delinea Secret Server can improve by extending the monitoring policies and making the performance better."

More Delinea Secret Server Cons →

"Keeper does not provide password management for mobile apps.""I would add a category for personal documents or photos of ID cards.""Search functions are sometimes weird.""I would like to see a way to store files and photos in the next update. If it already does this, I have yet to explore it.""API possible needs improvement. Although, this feature is for enterprises which need more then the usual usage.""Ability to set up password profiles that can predefine custom fields and password complexity.""Needs to provide an API to be integrated with the information systems and offer secure file hosting service with sharing and editing capabilities.""The stability of the solution can be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It isn't terribly expensive."
  • "The price of this solution is good."
  • "The pricing is standard in this business and we have no complaints about it."
  • "Its price is okay. We don't compete on pricing. We seldom use price to win over our competitors. We prefer it this way because if we can sustain the price, we make more margin as well. We don't want the price to go down to the bottom where despite the win, there's no margin at all."
  • "Secret Server is expensive when compared to the cost to some alternatives."
  • "There are different plans and additional licensing costs that can be instituted for add-ons."
  • "There is an annual license fee per user and the price is fair."
  • "They are priced quite well."

  • "The more users, the better the price. Always opt for the live support."
  • "Free works unless the paid is absolutely necessary."
  • "Pricing might be a little less, but with promo codes and family plan - best offer"
  • "It's definitely worth it and affordable. Their sales team can definitely help scale your needs on licensing and provide pricing options."
  • "Just buy the yearly subscription."
  • "Its cost is relative to the value of the information stored in Keeper."
  • "ROI is hard to know, but it has to be several times the expense of the product."
  • "We chose their optional annual subscription; I believe we paid monthly — I thought it was a good deal."
