Managed threat detection efficiently with minimal resource usage
We used the solution as a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service. It detected threats, and the team managing our services took care of it. We did not face any major challenges or attacks, and memory utilization was minimal. It functioned very well Cynet was valuable since it efficiently…

Delivers efficiency and agility with USB control limitations
One area where we lag is that, since we use everything from Heimdal, including XDR and other features, we also use the privilege manager feature called Elevation. What we lack is granular USB control. We have an issue where we can only switch USB on or off. I want to whitelist specific devices in the network, which I currently cannot do.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The interface is exceptionally clear and easy to understand."
"We are protecting all our workstations."
"It is quite stable. I would rate the stability of the solution a nine out of ten."
"The most effective features of Cynet are its ransomware protection and lateral movement deception."
"I like the Cynet Correlator™ feature."
"The visibility it gives is excellent."
"I like that you can implement it in the managed service portfolio."
"The most valuable aspect of this solution is that it is a complete solution, which makes cyber security very free and almost perfect. There is no such thing as perfect cyber security, but as far as it can go, sign it comes close to being perfect and holistic. Cynet is always comprehensive from the perspective of functionality, as well as from the standpoint that it encompasses not only technology but also processes and people. The triad of people, processes, and technology is crucial and should always be in place. To my knowledge, no other product or platform combines all three components into one, but Cynet does."
"Heimdal is a very agile and lightweight solution."
"As compared to multiple solutions I have used in the past, Heimdal is a very agile and lightweight solution."

Cons

"I would like to see more emphasis on building the data lake and storing all endpoint data in the enterprise data lake so that data mining can be performed"
"The inability to add contact information inside the Cynet is also an issue because it makes things more complicated. I would like to have a simple feature to enter a contact name and number for the person taking care of that unit or that server."
"Cynet is capable and cloud-based, however, enterprise organizations often prefer on-premises servers for managing entire organizations."
"Previously, we used Cynet, but transitioned to Trend Micro due to the lack of complete SSO services, which were costly."
"I would like to see support for mobile protection and some additional reports included."
"Management of the console could be simplified and made more user-friendly because right now it's not very easy to use."
"Compliance reports need to improve."
"They have automated response capability, and they're moving more and more into SOAR capability. They have built-in deception technology with host-file users, phantoms, etc. We used to call them honeypots. So, they're on target. They're doing a really good job, and they should continue to improve with SOAR."
"What we lack is granular USB control. We have an issue where we can only switch USB on or off."
"What we lack is granular USB control."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It costs us 20,000 to 28,000 per year."
"Cynet is cheap."
"There is an extra cost if you want the support of Cynet."
"I don't have specific information about integration capabilities or licensing costs."
"Its licensing is on a monthly basis."
"it's not cheap, but I would rate it a three out of ten. If one is cheap and ten is expensive."
"Cynet is cheaper than other solutions in the market."
"The pricing was good."
