Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Stable, good for malware detection and prevention
I use it for general endpoint protection and the usual stuff like malware detection and prevention It secures my environment.  One thing that could be easier is initiating scans. If I want to scan an extra drive, it should be more straightforward. It's a bit clunky. I have been using it for…

Automation has reduced alerts and freed the soc team to focus on faster incident response
Regarding mean time to respond, the improvements I see with SentinelOne Singularity Complete are that genuine files also get alerts. We are getting false positives, but we are also getting genuine true positive alerts. The improvement will be deep visibility because as I am using Splunk as a SIEM, I compare deep visibility with Splunk, but deep visibility has limited access with only a 14-day policy to retain logs. The improvement will be in overall policy management. The third point will be the complexity of policies. If we want some endpoints to use only USB or if we need to block USB on some points, the policy management is very complex. The fourth point will be that Mac OS and Linux don't have the rollback policy; that policy is only for Windows. These four points are improvements if SentinelOne Singularity Complete can address them. Data privacy and security when utilizing Purple AI is crucial for SentinelOne Singularity Complete, and SentinelOne Singularity Complete lacks in data security. Data security is very important in this world. In my organization, if we deploy SentinelOne Singularity Complete and we have integrated all the firewalls, all devices, and AWS devices to SentinelOne Singularity Complete, logs will be forwarded to SentinelOne Singularity Complete through SentinelOne Singularity Complete. However, SentinelOne Singularity Complete doesn't have data security solutions such as Forcepoint DLP or 48 layer; SentinelOne Singularity Complete doesn't have that DLP solution. From the data security point of view, SentinelOne Singularity Complete is not good.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is the low consumption of system resources. The solution uses a lot of AI and machine learning."
"It is a simple platform to use."
"WildFire AI is the best option for this product."
"Palo Alto is one of the tech vendors that always provides top-of-the-line products."
"Palo Alto Networks Traps improves our security posture and lowers risk by providing next-gen methods to combat against modern threats on all the major platforms."
"The most valuable aspect of Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks for me is its integration with AI detection, where we get to know the behavioral detection based on users, traffic patterns, and different services that we consume."
"The product's initial setup phase is very easy."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks's ability to block sophisticated threats in real time is quite good and is on par with SentinelOne's."
"It secures my environment."
"The most valuable feature of SentinelOne is the good graph it provides. It has a specific page where it detects the recent attacks on other machines or the hackers, for example, group APT28 and all."
"SentinelOne has improved the overall security posture of the firm without creating a lot of hassle for our end users. Everything is a bit more secure. We think Singularity Complete has helped us reduce our organizational risks."
"We have been protecting more than 100 companies (with no infections) since the product was installed."
"The autonomous platform is valuable because we can separate false positives and negatives."
"SentinelOne Singularity Endpoint offers the best features in the market at an affordable rate, providing a secure solution."
"I could not recommend SentinelOne highly enough."
"Singularity Platform's functionality for ransomware rollback is quite useful because if you have a ransomware attack, most EDR solutions do not have the feature to do a rollback and bring the system to its earlier state, but that is one of the unique features that Singularity Platform has which can be a game changer for customers."
"It is a good product, and it fits the requirements of most of the clients."

Cons

"It would be good if they could make an exception for applications. Sometimes, it can be a bit of a challenge to make exceptions for certain applications that have been used as rogue."
"Basically, they don't provide customer support tools just to investigate the logs."
"It is an enterprise-level solution. Its price could be less expensive."
"In an upcoming release, the solution could improve by proving hard disk encryption. If it could support this it would be a complete solution."
"Cortex does not offer an on-premises solution. However, some customers would prefer not to be on the cloud. It would be ideal if it could offer something on-prem as well."
"It'll help if customization was easier."
"The setup is quite easy. We had appropriate support from the manager. One thing that was missing was the integration part."
"The GUI could be improved. It's a little bit cumbersome. It could be more user-friendly."
"One thing that could be easier is initiating scans."
"There aren't enough reporting capabilities for decision-makers."
"SentinelOne's phishing feature could be improved."
"However, for complex cases—especially agent-related problems—we sometimes need remote assistance, and that level of support is not included in the basic subscription."
"When comparing SentinelOne to CrowdStrike, I find that CrowdStrike has more comprehensive vulnerability assessment tools."
"From the data security point of view, SentinelOne Singularity Complete is not good."
"The delay in updating inventory is ten minutes. If it can be improved, it will help a lot."
"Set up is very labor-intensive."
"It's easy to deploy, but the documentation about the Linux part could be better because it's a little complicated only on the Linux part, specifically on Ubuntu; it could be clearer and simpler."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Compared to CrowdStrike, Cortex XDR is an expensive solution."
"It's the most expensive solution, but features-wise, it's quite strong. It's very good for protection, so the results are very good in the case of protection. I would rate it a two out of ten in terms of pricing."
"The solution is expensive. It's pricing is on a yearly-basis."
"It is cost-effective compared to similar solutions. It fits for the small businesses through to the big businesses."
"The pricing is a little high. It is per user per year."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is an expensive solution."
"We didn't have to pay any additional fee for the cloud instance. It just came with the renewal, which was nice."
"It has a yearly renewal."

"Its price is per endpoint per year. One of the features of its licensing is that it is a multi-tenanted solution. From an MSSP point of view, if I want to have several different virtual clouds of customers, it is supported natively, which is not the case with, for example, Microsoft Defender. Another nice thing about it is that you can buy one license if you want to. Some vendors insist that you buy 50 or 100, whereas here, you can just buy one."
"We pay $30,000 a year for 275 endpoints. We're growing, so I plan to buy another 75 endpoints. There is still a year and a half left in my three-year subscription, so I'm going to increase my endpoint count by 30 percent."
"SentinelOne Singularity Complete is reasonably priced."
"My understanding is that we did a pretty good deal on SentinelOne. A part of that is because we were their customers very early on, and we also use their products a lot. We are interested in the new products that come out. We go to their demos, and we go to their events. We do save a lot of money. It is not cheap, but it is worth it. We spend a lot of money on a lot of things, and most of them do not do as much as SentinelOne."
"The pricing is reasonable. It may be a little high, but it's on par with everything out there."
"It is not sold as a consumer product. It is only sold based on the number of licenses. So, as an MSP, you're probably going to pay about three and a half dollars per license, per month to have SentinelOne."
"Our licensing fees are about $5 USD per endpoint, per month."
"SentinelOne makes licensing easy by reducing the number of modules or packages that they have to offer. A lot of other vendors make licensing very complicated with separate modules or separate costs. By bundling necessary features, SentinelOne ensures that security leaders are not left confused by options. This bundling of necessities has served our needs well."
