Provides effective real-time threat detection with potential for cost optimization
Some features such as device control, firewall management, and file analysis are standalone products that we need to purchase separately. If these features came out of the box within the product, it would be much more beneficial for us. Other providers such as SentinelOne include these features in their base product. We attended a CrowdStrike Falcon event where they discussed some shallow AI features, but we cannot see these in our panel yet. We work with different solutions such as Darktrace and SocRadar, where AI features are automatically displayed in our dashboards after release. However, for CrowdStrike Falcon, we cannot see these features.

Provides useful real-time threat intelligence features but has limited capabilities
We use the product to search for IoCs. It is a good tool, but we do not use all its capabilities. We have only done a POC of the product. The real-time threat intelligence features are useful. The tool has good capabilities. It has a database of IoCs The solution is limited. I have been using…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It improves a lot of our security operations for threat management, and it provides a lot for our day-to-day operations too."
"So far, in the past three years, they've been absolutely great."
"This solution has made the lives of the IT staff much easier, compared to the previous one."
"The EDR is amazing and ease of integration with Splunk is a big plus."
"CrowdStrike enables the infrastructure managers to visualize all the events and get information about the network."
"Enables us to understand what processes are running on the system, what registry keys have been enabled."
"The most valuable features of CrowdStrike Falcon are the AI in detecting and real-time detections."
"CrowdStrike is excellent at preventing breaches, and our security operations are more robust as a result."
"The solution improved our overall security posture."
"The real-time threat intelligence features are useful."

Cons

"Some of Falcon's features are a bit pricey."
"Whenever there is a feature release (upgrade) where we push to all the endpoints, it causes something to be blocked without us knowing."
"CS Falcon sensing capabilities for non-domain machines should be enhanced since the agent doesn't detect the neighbor's IP Address and/or any anomaly which was identified in the network for the non-domain machine."
"CrowdStrike should provide better visibility in its reporting. There should be more forensic details about detected threats."
"The product could be more accurate in terms of performance."
"CrowdStrike Falcon could improve by having an easier way to search and use the interface for extracting queries from the data. The interface could improve."
"The solution could improve the policies themselves. It would be helpful if there were cost-cutting measures."
"I recommend that some deep-dive trainings are required for the NG SIEM, specifically for their next-generation SIEM module, as they need some basic trainings for that."
"More insights would be helpful. We have multiple solutions for threat intelligence. If someone has a bigger view or full eye on all the incidents, it will be beneficial."
"The solution is limited."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"CrowdStrike is a reasonably priced tool."
"There is an annual license required to use this solution."
"CrowdStrike is well priced. On a yearly basis, it costs between $60 and $100 per user."
"The pricing is definitely high but you get what you pay for, and it's not so high that it prices itself out of the market."
"Years ago, when we bought CrowdStrike, you got everything it had. I was a little concerned when they broke this out into a la carte modules where you can buy EDR, Spotlight, etc., picking and choosing off the menu. I was a little worried that the solution would get watered down. However, I realized in my previous organization when we had the full suite that there were a bunch of features in it that we didn't have time to operationalize. So, I warmed up to it. I get the whole, "Look, you can pick and choose. Okay, everybody buys a steak, but do you want mashed potatoes, or do you want lobster mac and cheese?" So, you can pick the sides that you want, so you can buy the solution that you want and operationalize versus paying a lot of money and getting a bunch of things, but not using 60 percent of the tools in the box."
"The cost of CrowdStrike Falcon in Latin America seems high relative to the economic conditions in the region."
"The pricing will depend upon your volume of usage."
"Pricing and licensing seem to be in line with what they offer. We are a smaller organization, so pricing is important. Obviously, we would make a business case if it is something we really needed or felt that we needed. So, the pricing is in line with what we are getting from a product standpoint."
