Enhanced security team efficiency and proactive threat management with room to improve alert management and cost-efficiency
There are several issues we are facing with CrowdStrike Falcon Complete MDR, including data overload, noise, and false positive alerts. We experience alert fatigue, contextual gaps, integration complexity, and timeliness of intelligence challenges in our environment. Areas that should be improved include noise reduction, prioritization, real-time delivery, and advanced threat coverage. The filtering algorithm should be improved to address these concerns.

Good for risk mitigation and offers good support
The integration would look better with other products, with other EDRs, with other firewalls, with other older versions of firewalls, and the versions of software and hardware. Then, basically, it's compatibility. For example, having an old infrastructure and deploying SecureWorks can sometimes be a hassle. So, that's an area of improvement.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"There's less workload on the endpoint."
"The features of Firewall Management control, combined with controls in NextGen, are the most useful for our clients."
"Overwatch is the most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon Complete."
"CrowdStrike Falcon Complete's most valuable features are efficient dashboards and their ease of management."
"Technical support is helpful."
"As an end-point solution, nothing beats it, to be honest."
"It is a very good solution. It can provide detection and response in an extensive way, and for an endpoint, it can integrate the information that comes from the servers."
"The most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon Complete is endpoint detection and response."
"The most valuable feature is the fast alerting and response time."
"Securworks' threat intel seems pretty decent, and they integrate with several solutions we have, such as Azure AD, so all our Microsoft 365 stuff is covered."
"The initial setup was very straight forward."
"The pricing is flexible."
"This solution gathers the information logs from all devices and correlates all the information. It notifies us of any critical events taking place across our networks which has been valuable."
"We can easily isolate affected machines in the network."
"Secureworks Taegis Managed XDR MDR is a great product that has not posed any challenges from my perspective."
"We don't have a full SOC, so it's helpful to have them sifting through our alerts and only bringing actionable items to us."

Cons

"At the moment, nothing is missing in CrowdStrike Falcon Complete. I'm amazed by it. It's perfect and I'm not aware of any other vendors that provide its features, but it would also depend on the configuration and policy management of the solution, for example, I can bring you an EDR solution and configure it badly, so it won't do anything. It also depends on the people, not just the technology you're obtaining, so this is the most important thing to do for all solutions, even for firewalls. You can obtain a firewall and if you permit everyone to go through it, then it's useless. What could be improved in CrowdStrike Falcon Complete is its management console. Currently, that console is on the cloud, so if the cloud is compromised, then the management console would also be compromised, and that's quite risky."
"In a future release, it would be ideal if they could add reporting and action histories to their suite of features."
"I want better integration with other security solutions; integrating with third-party apps wasn't as seamless as I expected."
"CrowdStrike Falcon Complete MDR offers an optional module that might not be cost-effective for all organizations."
"Their UI is a bit noisy."
"I prefer to put a pound into the prevention and an ounce into the cure, but CrowdStrike put more focus into the EDR. This works as a business model for them, as they get a lot of customers purchasing their MDR services, usually SMBs lacking the staff to leverage the EDR tool themselves adequately. We have many such customers. I would much rather see more refinement and investment into the prevention side of the equation, though CrowdStrike has a good engine. The solution is as effective as SentinelOne and Windows Defender for Endpoint; it's an excellent endpoint protection solution."
"I would like to see them introduce DLP."
"CrowdStrike Falcon Complete could improve the threat visibility and have remediated vulnerabilities that they find."
"We did a PoC of their next-gen antivirus product, but it wasn't ready yet. It was underdeveloped and caused a lot of issues. We'd like to move away from Carbon Black, but they said that it's probably still not to a point where we'd be happy with it. Carbon Black and RedCloak seem to work fine for us."
"This solution could be improved with a higher degree of automation such as automated emails, triggers and defining the severity of the cases."
"Tamper-proofing or tamper protection is still pending in Secureworks. Tamper protection will make it more secure. If I'm an admin of a device, I can uninstall an agent without the knowledge of the security or Secureworks admin. If someone gets hold of one endpoint with admin credentials, he can remove anything, and an organization will lose visibility. They need to work on providing more visibility across endpoints. A couple of times it has happened that the cloak agent is there, but it did not get activated, or there were some issues. The machine was restarted, but the cloak agent didn't run. In such cases, you have to troubleshoot. It is a big issue if a cyber attack is happening, and your machine is rebooted, but the events are not captured."
"In terms of ROI, I'd be surprised if there is any investment return on the SIM."
"In the next release of this solution, I would like to see file integrity monitoring."
"Dell Secureworks is for higher-end customers and it's not quite as straightforward to implement or to get up and running as some of the other solutions."
"The deployment could definitely be improved."
"Secureworks Taegis ManagedXDR's query language and stability need improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is a license needed to use the solution. The price of the solution is fair."
"The average price is approximately $500 per customer."
"While the cost is relatively high, it is justified by the value it brings."
"CrowdStrike offers training at an additional cost, so many organizations wouldn't want that route."
"Pricing is reasonable."
"There is a standard license to use CrowdStrike Falcon Complete."
"Falcon Complete isn't too pricy."
"We have a yearly license, and it could be cheaper."
"Initially, the cost was going to be something around $160 or $170. And eventually, I think they brought it down to $110 and they also threw in some endpoint protection platforms."
"The Red Cloak agent is free."
"The pricing of Dell Secureworks is very reasonable."
"Secureworks Taegis ManagedXDR is very expensive and could be more cost-effective."
"The price is kind of on par. The licensing was comparable to other solutions. It's not particularly high or low."
"It is expensive but there is no better product than this."
"The pricing for this solution is reasonable. One agent costs approximately 270 dirhams/70 USD for one year. There is a reduction in cost per licence as the number of licences used increases."
