We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I've worked on most of the top SIEM solutions, and Sentinel has an edge in most areas. For example, it has built-in SOAR capabilities, allowing you to run playbooks automatically. Other vendors typically offer SOAR as a separate licensed solution or module, but you get it free with Sentinel. In-depth incident integration is available out of the box.""There are some very powerful features to Sentinel, such as the integration of various connectors. We have a lot of departments that use both IaaS and SaaS services, including M365 as well as Azure services. The ability to leverage connectors into these environments allows for large-scale data injection.""The scalability is great. You can put unlimited logs in, as long as you can pay for it. There are commitment tiers, up to six terabytes per day, which is nowhere close to what any one of our customers is running.""We are able to deploy within half an hour and we only require one person to complete the implementation.""The AI capability is one of the main features of the solution because I believe that in the market, there are few solutions that are providing security solutions based on AI and machine learning.""The standout feature of Sentinel is that, because it's cloud-based and because it's from Microsoft, it integrates really well with all the other Microsoft products. It's really simple to set up and get going.""I believe one of the main advantages is Microsoft Sentinel's seamless integration with other Microsoft products.""Sentinel's most important feature is the ability to centralize all the logs in one place. There's no need to search multiple systems for information."

"The correlation rules and the user platform are most valuable."

More ClearSkies SaaS NG SIEM Pros →

"The reports that you can run are really nice.""We haven't had any stability issues.""The Sharecon feature is the most valuable.""It basically helps us. We have to stay in compliance with certain issues with some of our customers. We have to have these types of tools in place for protecting our network and our data. We're in the aerospace industry, so we have a lot of defense contracts. So, all those guys will make sure that we're protecting their information, and it does a good job in that aspect.""The solution could be improved by including XDR, remediation and Sandbox.""The reporting is great. Everything you need is in the report for you already.""The product is very user-friendly.""It is easier to deploy than are other SIEMs, which is great. You can also get an overview of your environment, which is very handy."

Cons
"They could use some kind of workbook. There is some limitation doing the editing and creating the workbook.""Given that I am in the small business space, I wish they would make it easier to operate Sentinel without being a Sentinel expert. Examples of things that could be easier are creating alerts and automations from scratch and designing workbooks.""Sometimes, we are observing large ingestion delays. We expect logs within 5 minutes, but it takes about 10 to 15 minutes.""The reporting could be more structured.""Sentinel can be used in two ways. With other tools like QRadar, I don't need to run queries. Using Sentinel requires users to learn KQL to run technical queries and check things. If they don't know KQL, they can't fully utilize the solution.""We'd like also a better ticketing system, which is older.""Everyone has their favorites. There is always room for improvement, and everybody will say, "I wish you could do this for me or that for me." It is a personal thing based on how you use the tool. I do not necessarily have those thoughts, and they are probably not really valuable because they are unique to the context of the user, but broadly, where it can continue to improve is by adding more connectors to more systems.""We're satisfied with the comprehensiveness of the security protection. That said, we do have issues sometimes where there have been global outages and we need to raise a ticket with Microsoft."

More Microsoft Sentinel Cons →

"They can add behavior analytics and AI or machine learning technology. They also improve their correlation engine. In addition to collecting logs from devices, they can collect the traffic and then correlate these logs and the traffic information."

More ClearSkies SaaS NG SIEM Cons →

"Their technical support should be improved.""It is not expensive compared to other solutions.""The support needs improvement.""The graphical interface could be made easier to use when you are connecting to different network equipment.""There is room for improvement, especially in the reporting aspect. The reports are not as good as those in Splunk.""The matter of the data retention needs to be addressed.""Most times log sheets are not assigned well.""The solution needs to improve hub storage. It should integrate AI and ML capabilities."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It comes with a Microsoft subscription which the customer has, so they don't have to invest somewhere else."
  • "It is a consumption-based license model. bands at 100, 200, 400 GB per day etc. Azure Sentinel Pricing | Microsoft Azure"
  • "Good monthly operational cost model for the detection and response outcomes delivered, M365 logs don't count toward the limits which is a good benefit."
  • "I have had mixed feedback. At one point, I heard a client say that it sometimes seems more expensive. Most of the clients are on Office 365 or M365, and they are forced to take Azure SIEM because of the integration."
  • "It is kind of like a sliding scale. There are different tiers of pricing that go from $100 per day up to $3,500 per day. So, it just kind of depends on how much data is being stored. There can be additional costs to the standard license other than the additional data. It just kind of depends on what other services you're spinning up in Azure, or if you're using something like Azure log analytics."
  • "I am just paying for the log space with Azure Sentinel. It costs us about $2,000 a month. Most of the logs are free. We are only paying money for Azure Firewall logs because email logs or Azure AD logs are free to use for us."
  • "Sentinel is a bit expensive. If you can figure a way of configuring it to meet your needs, then you can find a way around the cost."
  • "Azure Sentinel is very costly, or at least it appears to be very costly. The costs vary based on your ingestion and your retention charges."

  • "They have changed the pricing policy. Its price is competitive. Its price is less than half of the price of QRadar, LogRhythm, and Splunk."
  • More ClearSkies SaaS NG SIEM Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "There is a cost for each feature used."
  • "Its pricing is definitely huge compared to some of the other SIEMs. Its price should be improved."
  • "My client has a yearly license. I think the cost is not expensive compared to that of other SIEMs, given the service it is providing."
  • "ManageEngine Log360 is expensive compared to other products."
  • "Affordable pricing is provided by the solution."
