We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"In terms of performance, Juniper switches have a more user-friendly interface and more features than Cisco products.""The solution is stable and scalable.""The most valuable feature is that Juniper is multiple kernels, so there's isolation, which means you won't get a process that runs away, creating problems across the whole platform.""The virtual Chassis feature for stacking is good in general, with high bandwidth for the link, which is good.""In terms of performance, Juniper switches have a more user-friendly interface and more features than Cisco products.""Both Juniper and Cisco switches are interoperable.""The solution is easy to use and has good integration.""The combination of hardware and software makes it a very good solution. It is a modern protocol that they have supported in the switches. The solution has good performance."

As a package, it's extremely effective.""There are a lot of features to control permitting or stopping packets in the network.""This solution is very similar to the on-premises version making it easy to use for those who know the architect.""The wiki page that describes the scripting and other features is very good.""The beauty of MikroTik is that you have flexibility with the routing parts."

Cons
"The initial setup for Juniper switches is complex. Juniper has a new program that solves that problem a little bit, but it is expensive, so I don't use it. It is Juniper Mesh, Juniper Wire, or something like that where you plug in a switch, and it goes out to their cloud, finds a config, and brings it down. So, you can do everything cloud-based, but there is a fee for that. It is expensive, so I've never used it. If we were starting, we would try to do something like that. It is more for a large enterprise for managing hundreds of switches versus what we're doing. They should make its price more cost-effective or include it for new or smaller companies.""We need to start seeing some kind of AI to assist with some of what we really want to accomplish from a policy standpoint to achieve better efficiency.""The price is in the intermediate range. It is not overly expensive, but also not cheap. It could stand improvement.""Stability could be better, especially during a reboot. We have had some issues recently with the software getting corrupt on reboot, which causes a lot of downtime.""The upgrading of the system should be simplified and made faster.""In an upcoming release, Juniper Ethernet Switches could improve by having more microservices.""Has a steep learning curve.""The updates are constantly breaking."

More Juniper Ethernet Switches Cons →

"The number of surfaces that can be handled by the chipset could be increased."

More Broadcom StrataDNX Cons →

"Antispam and antivirus features should be included in the future.""The port isolation and VLAN need to be improved.""Stuff that I'd like to be improved is really just training and documentation because I think the feature set is full. Another improvement I'd suggest is that their new, bigger releases should be a bit more stable.""If MikroTik had a marketing team and support team in India then it would be much easier for us to get the product, as well as support.""The packet filtering, user log data, and user access log could all be improved.""The user interface could improve and they should allow a license for IBS.""Improvements are needed with respect to some of the security, especially for VPN links between vendors other than Cisco.""The solution does not yet offer a SaaS version."
