The Broadcom StrataDNX chipset from the product portfolio is quite generic and not difficult to deploy. For network monitoring, we do not rely on the Broadcom StrataDNX chipset capability. Instead, we have our own tools, including OAM tools with standard CFM capability for performance monitoring. We also have traffic aspect function that helps with bandwidth estimation and testing capability between different states. For Broadcom StrataDNX applications in data centers, we need tools to monitor network performance and estimate network delay between data centers. These tools are critical for such applications. Our R&D team communicates directly with Broadcom regarding any questions about hardware features and SDK features. Overall rating: 8 out of 10.

Use of the solution needs to be decided on a case-by-case basis. For the mobile backhaul I would recommend it but for the internet peering, or P core routers, it should be tested before implementing in the live network. For the mobile backhaul or up to the PE, however, StrataDNX is a proven solution.

Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. I would definitely recommend using it for design.
