When a support ticket is submitted, it directly reaches someone with Intune support expertise.
When I contacted Microsoft, they had the same expertise, if not more, which is phenomenal because I felt heard and my problem was solved.
Sometimes, the support provided is excellent, and the representative is knowledgeable, while other times, the service needs improvement.
Fortinet's support has proven to be reliable, particularly as we've been engaged with them since the project's initiation.

Scalability Issues

Sentiment score
6.7
Microsoft Intune offers scalable, cloud-based device management, integrating with systems like Office 365 for seamless enterprise flexibility and performance.
Sentiment score

BMC TrueSight is scalable, handling thousands of devices, though some complexity with load balancers and high-availability needs improvement.
Sentiment score
7.3
Fortinet FortiManager offers scalable, centralized management for diverse devices, excelling in virtual environments and large enterprise networks.
The scalability of Microsoft Intune is ten out of ten.
Ideally, we want to automatically segregate devices based on user properties like primary use, but currently, dynamic groups seem limited to device properties.
It supports organizations with 200 endpoints and those with more than 15,000 endpoints.
Whenever you are monitoring or managing more than 10 or 20 firewalls, it is evident that you need a single pane of glass, which Fortinet FortiManager is offering.
You can raise the capacity as you go, and there is no limit for hardware.
The problem is cloud connectivity and roaming profiles are not working, as there is no option for them.

Stability Issues

Sentiment score

Microsoft Intune is stable and reliable, with minor sync delays, benefiting from a cloud-based infrastructure for improved performance.
Sentiment score
6.6
BMC TrueSight Automation for Networks is stable but requires careful planning and sometimes support intervention for optimal performance.
Sentiment score
7.9
Fortinet FortiManager is reliable with occasional minor bugs, requiring updates and good internet or hardware for optimal performance.
We have not experienced downtime, bugs, or glitches.
It appears Microsoft Intune undergoes changes without informing customers.
Microsoft Intune has been very stable.
I rate the solution's stability ten out of ten.
95% of the time, there are no problems interacting with other devices.
It is an absolutely very stable product, and we have not encountered any kind of disruption as far as the product is concerned.

Room For Improvement

Microsoft Intune needs improved reporting, faster policy deployment, automation, enhanced integration, and better support for BYOD and non-Microsoft systems.
BMC TrueSight needs enhanced automation, integration, UI improvements, hardware support, and features for better compliance and device syncing.
Fortinet FortiManager needs better support, documentation, integration, user interface, pricing, scalability, traffic monitoring, bug fixes, and feature improvements.
Features like unlocking devices sometimes fail, and the support offered for other operating systems is insufficient.
There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now.
Many third-party companies offer single-pane-of-glass reporting that shows you what your update environment looks like, how your patch is doing, application status, etc., but Intune's reporting is not intuitive.
FortiManager is a good tool, but there is a lack of really advanced documentation.
In such cases, their CPE or other devices on-site may become unreliable, leading to occasional configuration discrepancies.
The graphical user interface could use improvement as it appears complex and not user-friendly.

Setup Cost

Microsoft Intune is seen as cost-effective, offering significant savings when bundled with Microsoft 365 and EMS licenses.
BMC TrueSight is costly compared to competitors, with high licensing fees, leading some to prefer open-source alternatives.
Fortinet FortiManager offers competitive and reasonable pricing, with negotiable discounts, making it appealing for scalable network management.
Introductory professional services, like a fast-track service, were included with our E5 membership, and there have been no additional costs.
The Intune suite and add-ons, such as batch management and remote help, are costly.
It costs approximately forty euros per user per month.
I hope that the prices will become more competitive in subsequent releases, as the current pricing is perceived as somewhat elevated.
I would rate the price 8 out of 10 with 10 being the most expensive.
Some competing solutions in the market, like Sophos and SonicWALL, offer lower costs of up to 40 percent.

Valuable Features

Microsoft Intune offers zero-touch deployment, security, cross-platform management, and intuitive interface for streamlined device and application management.
BMC TrueSight Automation for Networks offers automation in configuration management, compliance, reporting, and enhances network security with intuitive features.
Fortinet FortiManager offers centralized management, automation, scalability, and comprehensive logging, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual effort in network operations.
Intune excels in configuration and compliance management for Windows 10, ensuring devices receive timely updates and adhere to organizational standards.
Dynamic groups allow us to set conditions for automatic membership, eliminating the need for user intervention or manual review and ensuring a seamless workflow.
Windows Autopatch is the most valuable because it removes the burden of patch management.
I can automate the installation of configurations using different programming languages like Python or HPE, and it's a GUI solution, so it's pretty easy to use, even for basic users.
Being able to push consistent firewall rules and configuration changes across multiple FortiGates saves a ton of time and reduces errors compared to managing each device individually.
FortiManager captures all devices and provides reports for security analysis.

Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Enables us to configure our network easily and get the most out of it
BMC TrueSight Network Automation transforms manual configuration tasks for network devices, which are complex and vary among different OEMs. With this tool, you can manage and control all new and old devices, ensuring they meet configuration needs. It provides updates on Cisco devices, and if any data is missing, you can generate it using a formula. I recommend BMC TrueSight Network Automation from the network side, as it provides excellent visibility and configuration management for vulnerabilities. The implementation requirements are certainly at level two. Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Manage multiple devices with ease but experience complexity in deployment and limited AI features
I use Fortinet FortiManager to manage multiple devices in a single location. Although it does not provide a security posture itself, it depends on the firewall policies and settings in their respective firewalls. Fortinet FortiManager is primarily meant for the management of devices Fortinet…
