Centralized control has strengthened privileged security and simplified audit investigations
While One Identity Safeguard is a strong and reliable PAM solution, there are a few areas where it can be further improved to enhance user experience and scalability. Regarding the user interface and experience, the UI, while functional, can be a bit complex for new users. A more intuitive and modern dashboard with simplified navigation would improve adoption, especially for non-technical stakeholders. Regarding integration flexibility, although it supports major integrations, expanding out-of-the-box connectors for more cloud-native apps, DevOps tools, and SaaS platforms would be beneficial. Faster and simpler API-based integrations could reduce deployment efforts. Regarding scalability and performance in large enterprise environments, performance tuning and scaling can require additional efforts. Enhancing seamless scalability and high availability configuration would improve enterprise readiness.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has allowed us to have a central system for handling security profiles for all users on different target systems e.g. Oracle, Unix, and Active Directory."
"The implementation time was quick. It was basically up and running within a week."
"We are very pleased with the Safeguard platform feature."
"One Identity Safeguard has positively impacted our organization by increasing visibility into privileged user activities, allowing us to track and audit all actions easily, which helps in compliance and security."
"I primarily use One Identity Safeguard for protecting security across all user accounts, enterprise data accounts, assets, as well as privileged access, domain user, and admin accounts, giving SSO features and providing security across all user accounts."
"Flexible modes are easily integrated into the customer infrastructure."
"Now, once they are logged into the organization and are registered on our ERP system, their complete access will be ready within five seconds, and they will receive an SMS with their username and password so they can start working, which has increased efficiency and effectiveness of the access control function and reduced operational costs while providing services 24/7 on a platform that can be used anytime and anywhere for investigation."
"Over four years of use, we have not encountered a single system crash or failure, and the product is stable."
"I have found One Identity Safeguard to be stable."

Cons

"This product launches a request to add or remove accesses on different target systems but it doesn't check that the access granted was previously requested."
"We can't review or audit HTTP and HTTPS. This functionality should be added so that we can review and audit HTTP and HTTPS."
"Monitoring of the platform should be easier and more functional so that you can have a clear picture of the running service."
"The SPS could be a lot easier to administrate and the parts should be unified, from a design perspective, so that I can recognize the systems as being part of the same package. They feel like they have been forced together."
"Some of the out-of-the-box reporting isn't that rich."
"More refined reporting logs on dashboards are needed; currently, they are not very refined, they are very scattered, and it is not very intuitive."
"Support for One Identity Safeguard could be improved because sometimes the support team doesn't have an answer or solution for some bugs. A feature I found in a competitor would make One Identity Safeguard better, and that is the ability to load balance the traffic in the target."
"The product uses a lot of resources in current sessions."
"VMware PCoIP protocol support: Many customers are switching from normal computers/environment to VDI infrastructure and some of them are switching to VMware Horizon that uses PCoIP protocol, which is not supported right now."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Its subscription cost is too much, and sometimes, it is very difficult to pitch the solution to the management for cost approval. If the cost is reduced a little bit, it would be easier. If its cost was less, many other organizations that currently cannot afford it would be able to use this technology. I'm sure many organizations around the globe are having issues with identity management, and it is a very difficult task for IT to manage privileged accounts."
"The license is around $3,000 per month."
"Our licensing costs are on a yearly basis."
"The license is very expensive for us, partly due to inflation and partly because of the exchange rate between the Dollar and the Iranian Rial. We purchased a perpetual license that we've been using up until now, but I believe that we are not going to update it in the future. Instead, we plan to find another third-party to support us with the license, in the sense that we would have access to their license as a shared agreement."
"The pricing is about $80,000 per 100 servers. There are few elective costs."
"The pricing depends on our perspective, our budget, and, of course, the competitors we are taking into account."
"We have a yearly license. The cost depends on how much a company wants to invest in technology. In our organization, we believe in modern digitization and automation processes so we found it affordable. One Identity was not that much less than other solutions and it is not a cheap solution. There were number of cheaper solutions. However, it's the most effective, according to our evaluation."
"It is a bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. You don't want to get anything too cheap because then you get cheap stuff and cheap support. That really never helps anybody."
