Wireless network has supported long-term reliable access and simplifies RF optimization
I have experience with Cisco products and the Cisco brand. The product is mainly a hardware product. Regarding the software part, I don't have a lot of experience. Aruba Wireless was not too difficult to set up. When compared with other products such as Cisco, they also have products with wireless controllers, and it's similar to that. I think it should be recommended for both bigger and smaller companies based on the feedback and our experience. I believe there should be AI functions that might help us in some cases of cybersecurity matters, detecting threats regarding security would be better with AI. For this role, I have more than twenty years of experience. I would rate Aruba Wireless eight out of ten overall.

Customers are increasingly focusing on seamless roaming between Dell Ruckus access points. They want to know how quickly and reliably their devices can switch connections as they move around, minimizing downtime and disruptions. Specifically, they are interested in the frequency and aggressiveness of roaming protocols, ensuring smooth transitions without disconnecting from the network. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Good wireless solution that's user-friendly, stable, and scalable, with very good product support, and a limited lifetime warranty."
"The initial setup is straightforward. Configure one IAP and all the rest self-configure to that one."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that it can work with many devices, supporting everything that we need it to and meeting all enterprise-standard requirements, with the main advantage being broad device support."
"Basic initial setup is very easy when it comes to a new user on-premise."
"ClearPass is a unique product that contains multiple solutions like BYOD, Guest, NAC, AAA, UEBA, etc. There is also quick support from Aruba TAC."
"The benefit is the constant delivery of internet bandwidth, as everybody is getting internet access properly, and when 40 - 50 people are sitting in a small area it is capable of delivering internet to them constantly."
"The technical support is 24/7 from the UA."
"What I like best about Aruba Wireless is that it doesn't need a controller. The product also has a GUI that's easy to navigate."
"My advice for anybody who is considering this solution is that they do not need to complete a proof of concept."

Cons

"When I compare Aruba with Juniper Mist, Juniper is the more an AI-driven management solution. It is more of a modern solution, I think. Aruba needs to be more competitive with Juniper."
"It's too pricey, to be honest."
"Not cost-effective."
"Aruba Wireless is a good product, but it still has some issues, especially at the beginning, where there's inconsistent syncing between the cloud and the APs. Sometimes, there's also a little lag when accessing the query."
"There is so much licensing, you literally pay for every solution, add-on, or cool feature."
"The speed could be better. I heard that Aruba is trying to shape the speed inside the wireless controller, but that has not been adopted yet. If they put some kind of mechanism inside the wireless controller for the speed such that, "Okay, this many users will have 20 by 20 - 20 in the upload, 20 in the download. Just this many users. And this many users will have that type of speed." I think it would be very good if they actually bring that functionality inside the wireless controller."
"The ceiling grid mount clips have room for improvement. "
"I rate Aruba technical support six out of 10. We have a hard time connecting with them every time."
"The security needs to be improved because we have had problems with people accessing our network using the VPN."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Besides paying for the APs, you need to pay a license each year for their use. Therefore, watch out for that and do the best you can to keep costs down."
"There is so much licensing, you literally pay for every solution, add-on, or cool feature. Compared to others, we were in the middle with pricing, but as you start to invest more into features it will get very pricey."
"It offers a lower cost compared to other products, which is a significant advantage."
"My main concern about this product is the price. The cost is causing me to look at other vendors and competing products."
"The access points are more cost-effective over some other providers, both in cost per AP and the option of a controller-less environment."
"If you compare it to other solutions then it's reasonably priced."
"The price is reasonable."
"I would rate the pricing a five out of ten"
