The solution has multi-vendor support, and it can be used for network management
Aruba Airwave is an on-prem solution, so you have to manage it with your servers to be deployed. You can also deploy it on the cloud if you have your own private cloud. All the configuration guides and the different types of designs you need are available from Aruba Airwave's portal. I would recommend Aruba Airwave to other users. Overall, I rate Aruba Airwave ten out of ten.

A tool for centralized management including inventory and sales tracking
Citrix ADM has the ability to implement policies to tighten security. For instance, you can restrict access to your network from outsiders or lack necessary security measures such as antivirus programs. Additionally, there's the Delivery Controller, which allows for comprehensive monitoring and management tasks such as remote restarts, maintenance, and registration. Another essential component is the Director, which provides detailed insights into sessions, including identifying session failures, connection issues, user lockouts, etc. It presents a list of problems to address, enabling you to click on them and resolve them efficiently.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution is definitely stable."
"This solution gives you a lot of reporting capabilities, and it has a very good interface."
"It has improved my organization by increasing troubleshooting opportunities which makes things more efficient."
"The most valuable feature of Aruba Airwave is the multivendor support, which enables you to manage and monitor different vendors or products."
"It's scalable because it's licensed per device and we bought licenses with each device. I would rate it a nine out of ten for scalability."
"The most valuable features are the error log and intrusion log. It also provides an overview of your assets. It gives a good database for wireless coverage."
"It contains valuable features for engineers to C-level executives, who want visibility, performance, statistics, and a platform which can take action for them without manual intervention, saving time and money."
"The monitoring and administration allow configurations for checking the association of the user to the network, then to the AP, then to the switch, and back to the controller."
"The most valuable features are for the ADMs and the overall monitoring environment."
"I would say the rewriting and redirection functions are must-have's for us."
"Load balancing, cache redirection, content switching, all connected with traffic management."
"An essential component is the Director, which provides detailed insights into sessions, including identifying session failures, connection issues, user lockouts, etc. It presents a list of problems to address, enabling you to click on them and resolve them efficiently."
"Scalability is great. One of the best features of NetScaler is that it can scale out."
"We have good customer support."
"The solution is very stable. We don't have any downtime or issues of that nature."
"The flexibility in configuration options is impressive."

Cons

"When upgrading hardware, there were technical issues with network interfaces and Red Hat, which required escalation to developers."
"The tool's expensive nature is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"Whenever you get an error it doesn't immediately tell you what the thing is that is causing the error. You have to sit down and research it. If it could say what error is causing the issue, it would make my troubleshooting a lot quicker."
"When attempting to copy a floor plan, it does not copy well, so I often have to redraw the walls. It's somewhat annoying since other Wi-Fi design software we use is easier for drawing walls and including floor plans."
"The integration with other platforms like Cisco needs to be improved."
"The solution’s pricing could be improved."
"We're looking for more device compatibility. Like compatibility with third-party devices."
"I would like to see is “AAS”. Not only Aruba APs with central, but NAC/ClearPass, AirWave, and everything licensed as a Service."
"The solution can improve their support and send tickets directly to a Citrix ADC engineer in order to avoid having to escalate each support call."
"The security is okay, but the monitoring and reporting need improvement."
"The technical support could be better. Whenever I contacted support, I rarely got the solution that we needed. And most of the time, I finished fixing the problem by looking on the internet or by finding documents about the problem on Google."
"In every release - and it doesn't matter if it's a minor release or a major release - they keep moving things around and they keep changing the mechanism. So certain things can work in one version one way, and everything works really well, then when you upgrade it to the next version, it breaks everything because they have a new way of doing it."
"The product provides some templates to integrate with applications like MS Exchange, MS SharePoint, SAP Enterprise Portal, and others. However, the last update for these templates was 2013 (lots of applications are running on versions newer then 2013)."
"I think the documentation should be improved."
"Too many bugs in the software and it's always difficult when you need to update."
"The interface needs to be improved because the competition is coming up with ones that are more eye-catching, straightforward, and sophisticated."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the product’s pricing a five out of ten."
"The tool is expensive. If one is bad or expensive, and ten is very good or cheap, I rate the product's price as a six."
"We must buy a new license to connect more devices to scale up the solution."
"It is an expensive solution."
"Aruba Airwave is an expensive solution."
"Licensing and pricing are extremely straightforward."
"The licensing cost for Aruba Airwave increased from $72 to $210 within a few months. It would be better if the pricing for the solution were cheaper."
"Run a 90 day free Proof of Concept (PoC) for each product by implementing and using it fully in your environment. This way you will be educated on its features, functionality, and manageability."
"Our licensing fees including technical support are approximately $3,500 USD."
"The client pays for the Citrix NetScaler license annually."
"Citrix Web App and API Protection are in the middle when we talk about pricing and licensing"
"I give the price of the solution a seven out of ten."
"The license for Citrix NetScaler is on an annual basis and it is reasonably priced."
"F5 BIG-IP is much more expensive than Citrix ADC. For example, If we choose two platforms, Citrix ADC, 3000 version, and we choose F5, F4200 version. F5 BIG-IP has connections, timers, and throughput similar to Citrix ADC, but the price is very expensive."
"Citrix NetScaler's pricing is slightly above average but not overly expensive. I would consider F5 BIG IP to be the most expensive, Citrix NetScaler to be the second most expensive, and then Kemp Load Balancer to be the third."
"For partners, NetScaler is not as expensive price-wise versus F5."
