Efficient mobile testing with intuitive emulation capabilities and a user-friendly interface
Initial setup for Appium (especially for iOS) is not beginner-friendly.Consumes too much of your host machine's resources, potentially slowing down the machine.Appium Inspector often lacks deep insight or crashes with certain app builds. Improve test flakiness by intelligently selecting robust self-healing locators, simplified installers, better documentation, GUI-based config management, smart wait mechanisms and better failure logs.

I face difficulties with the authentication parts in Google Firebase when it goes with iOS applications. With Android applications, that is easier because Google owns it. When it goes to iOS applications, there should be a much more straightforward, smoother way. I mostly faced that with Flutter because with Flutter, there are two sides with Android and iOS. The Android part was pretty much easier for me, but when it goes to the iOS part, there was more work on that.

"It is a very stable solution."
"The main feature for us is that the tools are all in one place and that you don't need to bother with the backend system and the infrastructure."
"The authentication features have made things a lot easier for our organization. About five years ago, developers had to create authentication systems from scratch. Now, services like Google Firebase provide secure and accurate authentication solutions. We can implement authentication quickly by following their documentation."
"The Firebase hosting and the automated authentication service, as well as the cloud functionality, are the solution's most valuable features."
"I would recommend Google Firebase for its cost-effectiveness, availability, and ease of deployment."

"Its initial setup process is easy."

Cons

"The user interface needs improvement because there are issues when setting up environment variables."
"Appium doesn't recognize IDs placed by our developers on nested elements when we use React Native for iOS; it just sees the whole page and one element."
"The last time I used it, whenever I selected and clicked on an element, Appium was very slow."
"Image recognition could be improved. We have some images in our mobile applications. It should be able to run from the cloud, so we can automate the catcher."
"Installation of this particular tool is tedious, and it gives you a good number of challenges at times."
"When doing mobile testing Appium is difficult as you can't use it for mobile testing in virtual machines."

"It needs to accommodate applications that use React.js and AngularJS."
"We use Firebase for media processing and we are growing more. As we grow, the pricing goes high and it's high compared to competitors. The solution is expensive."
"Google Firebase should add extra functionality to do global delete and updates across your database."
"Scheduling the import was very difficult with Firestore; we had to use a couple of other tools to create schedulers to import, but the import on the Google BigQuery and the Firestore component was still a manual process, which was a bit annoying."
"Their technical support needs to be enhanced with more support for customers."
"Automation testing with mobile devices could be improved, especially in regression testing to ensure that new feature launches do not affect other features."
"There needs to be an easy way to duplicate a database."
"The only thing that I won't do on Firebase is the hosting side of things for a progressive web app because it feels like you actually still need to download the app first before you can actually get into the functionality of the app."
"The product is not that cheap."
