Quick development enables seamless data processing despite occasional support issues
There were times when the product would fail during development without an apparent reason. The support structure changed; initially, we received great support, however, it later became less reliable due to licensing issues and a tiered support system. Licensing negotiations were problematic, affecting our product usage. For instance, our licenses were temporarily lost during negotiations when an agreement couldn't be reached.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"My primary focus is creating numerous data pulls, and Alteryx Server handles the automation well."
"The modeling features are very good."
"The GUI is simple and it integrates with Python."
"The filtering is fast, and it provides a search tool that is great."
"The solution has a very strong community that is involved in the product. It helps make the usage easier and helps us find answers to our questions."
"Automation is the most valuable aspect for us. The ability to wrap business logic around the data is very helpful."
"The solution has excellent drag and drop functionality. There's no need for coding."
"Predictive models, which are easy to use, and help a lot with fast design and deployment."
"The workspaces, which are like wrappers of Docker containers, made it easy to start development environments using Domino."
"The scalability of the solution is good; I'd rate it four out of five."

Cons

"The server is too expensive for what you get and it really a designer desktop on a server."
"The only area where the product lags is documentation and videos on the analytical app and the batch macro."
"There were times when the product would fail during development without an apparent reason."
"A colleague of mind mentioned that the solution should have more options for the visualization of data."
"It would be nice if they can provide Alteryx with more options for In-DB connectivity. That functionality is there, but it doesn't include all software we are connecting."
"There could be a bit of improvement related to performance. Sometimes it demands a lot of resources for running it, like memory and search."
"Sometimes, there are performance constraints. Especially when a large file has to be ingested, the system slows down a bit. Its performance is the only thing that can be improved."
"There are a few hiccups with specific data sets and languages or formats that the data comes in. That may be a minor problem, but we can work through it. We had some issues looking at XML format in added data, but it wasn't significant."
"The deployment of large language models (LLMs) could be improved."
"The predictive analysis feature needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The designer license costs 5000 euros. The server edition is 1000 euros."
"It's probably on the pricey side, but they provide some really useful ways to grow and test."
"While it offers extensive features, including predictive analytics, for those who mainly use it for data preparation and blending, the cost can be prohibitive."
"The license is really expensive, we cannot afford to have two or three. It takes away all the budget of my area."
"In order to have designers, and, if you want to collaborate, you have to buy a server. If the designer is $5,000, and if you want a server, you have to pay $80,000."
"Very transparent."
"The solution has a more costly license than other tools in the market."
"Its price should be lower. The key thing that we see is that talking about ROI is an important element at the time of purchase. Cost becomes a factor in every discussion. Justifying the ROI for these kinds of workflows is always a challenge, and the only way to counter the challenge is by addressing the pricing."
