Provides endless features and can be adapted to every single application that exists in the world
WAF is the most beneficial feature for security posture. Our customers are more than satisfied with the user experience provided by the product. The level of detail of the configuration is the most significant aspect. We can adapt it to every single application that exists in the world. The product helps with the compliance processes.

Load balancing has simplified deployments and improves application performance monitoring
I don't think of features that will make Radware Alteon better because it is already better, but to be able to compete also with other competitors, the price is something to consider. It is not actually that expensive, but for their level, there are other load balancers with the same feature, but they have a lower price, so pricing is the only point I can give. In the future, I would like to see some other security features added, such as DDoS, which is Distributed Denial of Service. Currently, it has the Web Application Firewall feature, but in the future, they can also add a DDoS feature or a more in-depth DDoS feature.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Our customers are more than satisfied with the user experience provided by the product."
"Technical support is very good; they respond rather quickly, we are happy with the amount of service they provide, and they are knowledgeable and responsive."
"By providing web access specificity for different servers and different types of devices Alteon has simplified things by also enabling external user access."
"My experience with technical support is that they were great."
"The best feature of Alteon is its automated threat detection and blocking. The university has resource limitations. I am the only one working for the security section, looking after seven products, including Alteon. The automatic blocking of threats and detections is crucial for us."
"The features that mitigate attacks are very valuable."
"Security is one of the most valuable features that I like; it is easy to use and easy to configure, and the hardware is robust."
"The most valuable feature is the support from the engineering team."
"We have improved the user experience by having services available all the time, in addition to the fact that with this solution it is easier to manage from a graphical interface that is useful and intuitive, as an administrator it is important to have a clear and complete vision of the services that we operate."

Cons

"The tool must be simplified."
"We are in the process of updating our version of the solution, so judging what should be improved is difficult. But in some cases, the visualization takes a while, especially for mapping issues."
"Their support can be better. The Radware management is very proactive. We can connect to anybody in Radware Management in India. We can even connect with the MD of Radware India. However, their lower level staff should be more proactive towards the customers."
"We are having a difficult time with the security module, and how to implement the Radware security."
"We've developed a lack of trust in the product because it sometimes behaves unexpectedly."
"You need to have pretty good internal knowledge of the solution."
"With a good configuration and a good understanding of the application, you can have very good integration with the web application firewall and Radware application; however, it isn't easy."
"Load balancing needs improvement. It needs better integration."
"The community portal does not have a place to find scripts."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool is cheap."
"It has a good price point and is more reasonable than other comparable products"
"The cost of Radware Alteon is mid-ranged."
"Alteon's price is excellent compared to other solutions. F5 costs around twice as much. We still have about three years left before this hardware reaches the end of its life. We're migrating to the cloud, and phasing some of this out, but it's nice that they've given us a long window to keep their hardware in place."
"The pricing is better than the competition. It is getting more pricey as the years go on, as more people are migrating to it, and as the technology gets better."
"Its pricing is very good. It is very competitive. Radware Alteon is the leader in the market. At a lesser price, we get a good product and also good support. Other vendors who are providing load balancers charge separately for two items. You have the hardware cost, and you have the support cost, whereas, in the case of Radware, you get both in a single package."
"Radware Alteon is less expensive than many of the other competitors."
"I'm content with Alteon's pricing."
"The solution is cost-efficient."
