Genius-level AI with very easy setup and implementation processes
Our most common use case is sales order and invoice processing. The solution is used for this processing very, very frequently.  We also use the solution as an OCR or OTP character reader that extracts data from unsecured documents.  In the UK, there are particular protocols. For example, if you…

Stable and scalable with multiple services available simultaneously
There are some features that are provided in the paid version only. They are not a part of the free version. It would be good if some of them could be added to the free version as well to increase usability. If they did that, more people would go for the free version and it will help them explore all kinds of paid services and paid features at no cost. Likely, this would drive adoption and help them acquire more users. It would be ideal if they could add support for rare services as well, to make it so that you can get a response both for SOAP and REST services.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Vantage is flexible and customizable. It's a low-code/no-code tool, so you don't need to get into detailed coding. You can also use AI to accomplish medium-complex tasks."
"The most valuable feature of ABBYY FlexiCapture is the accuracy of the general extractions."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to scale for big processes. We are able to process 1 million pages a day. Its accuracy is also very nice. It is a good feature that they have. It is an independent platform, which is its biggest advantage as compared to other solutions. It is also very stable and powerful. It is 100% on time."
"The advantage for ABBYY Vantage is in the visual tools to parameterize and set documents."
"The most valuable feature of ABBYY FlexiCapture is the ability to create your own template on the fly. You can train and classify, you can work with those different templates without the need to do special programming for it or with minimum programming. Additionally, the solution is supporting the Arabic OCR, both of these combined features are the most important for us in the Egyptian market."
"We can quickly integrate the catalogs with proper documentation."
"I like that it has the capability of processing a high volume of documents with great accuracy."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is its ability to extract content from documents. It is able to identify specific fields and special characters."
"Within the cloud solution, there are multiple services that can be deployed on a particular cloud and you can interact with those servers at the same time."

Cons

"Even though the training works, it's not as good as it is made out to be."
"ABBYY FlexiCapture could improve in the maintenance, and there are some issues. You have to make efforts to do corrections. Additionally, it could be more user-friendly in terms of connecting between different solutions."
"ABBYY Vantage is mainly available on the public cloud but for clients that use a private cloud, it is complicated to set up the solution."
"The integration with UiPath is not good. I would like to see more documentation and guides to help gain more in-depth knowledge of how to use ABBYY FlexiCapture."
"Quite complex, particularly for those who are not tech savvy."
"There is always room for improvement in any product. Some of the configurations for the machine learning models for invoice reading are fairly complicated. There is so much customization that is possible with that sort of thing, so it makes sense that there are a lot of options, but some of the more important ones can be a little better streamlined or more upfront. Currently, machine learning models are a little bit difficult to configure satisfactorily."
"The lack of patch update notifications creates a blind spot."
"We would like the workflow building within this solution to be more transparent, which would allow us to model the process."
"It would be ideal if they could add support for rare services as well, to make it so that you can get a response both for SOAP and REST services."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I'd give ABBYY Vantage's pricing a rating of seven out of ten."
"They have a trial license that is limited to a certain number of pages. The paid license varies from six months to one year depending on the number of documents that need to be processed."
"The price of this ABBYY FlexiCapture is a bit expensive and the price is based on how many documents have been captured. For example, one or two million captures."
"Its price should be a little lower. It is a lot higher than the competition, and if they just break the gap a little, then more people might jump onto their product. Their price is definitely a deterrent in the few cases that I remember. They have monthly and yearly options, and if you want, they also have per project and per page options. They do charge extra for different types of installation. They have the standalone, which is pretty straightforward and a lot cheaper than the server installation. Server installation gives you a lot more, and it gives you control over the environment."
"The licenses for this solution are payable on a yearly basis, and are transferable from one year to the next, if they go unused. The license payment also includes a number of support hours from the vendor."
"It is moderately priced."
"We did not go with the licensed version of this solution."
"It is more on the reasonable side as compared to the competition that I am aware of. I'm not an expert on pricing schemes for all sorts of things, but when we offer them a solution, we like to say we're agnostic. So, we offer more than one solution when possible. Amongst the ones that we've offered, ABBYY usually is the more reasonable solution on a big scale. On a small scale, they're all pretty similar. As far as I understand, you pay a license for a number of pages, and that's pretty much it. It has just the rate per page, and it decreases as you scale."
