Automates processes efficiently with cost-effective scaling and robust customer support
Web scraping is quite good since it offers a lot of possibilities. Another important feature for me is its compatibility with MBI, the Power that is ISEQUADO Centers. I appreciate the ability to scale and increase the number of bots or studios without additional expense. Automate's non-reliance on additional orchestrators makes it quite cost-effective.

Enables efficient information extraction with strong OCR capabilities
The solution itself is valuable due to its ability to classify and extract information with embedded OCR, which is good. ABBYY has a very good OCR in both Arabic and English. Additionally, they have a new version called Vantage, which is cloud-based. However, we still work with the old version because most of our clients are government entities.

Stable and scalable with multiple services available simultaneously
There are some features that are provided in the paid version only. They are not a part of the free version. It would be good if some of them could be added to the free version as well to increase usability. If they did that, more people would go for the free version and it will help them explore all kinds of paid services and paid features at no cost. Likely, this would drive adoption and help them acquire more users. It would be ideal if they could add support for rare services as well, to make it so that you can get a response both for SOAP and REST services.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The interface is simple, user-friendly, and very intuitive."
"Fortra's Automate performs the job effectively and has the capability to alert us of any issues."
"We use it for specific cases, mainly secure file transfers, which are vital for us. And it works for us."
"We have found the pricing to be very reasonable."
"The best feature of Automate is its ease of use, which is a major selling point."
"The most valuable features of Fortra's Automate include its FTP functionality and file manipulation capabilities."
"The solution is continuously adding more integrations to help with workflows and bot and task creation."
"It's very easy to use. That's a big selling point for it. It has got a drag-and-drop interface, so you can quickly deploy bots."
"We can quickly integrate the catalogs with proper documentation."
"Identifies and extract relevant elements from a document."
"ABBYY Vantage is user-friendly...The deployment process can be done in a few minutes."
"The machine learning capability is pretty good."
"The most valuable features have been the rate of recognition and the structured documents."
"The advantage of this tool is that it is a proven product. A lot of other products are quite new in the market."
"The solution itself is valuable due to its ability to classify and extract information with embedded OCR, which is good."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is its ability to extract content from documents. It is able to identify specific fields and special characters."
"Within the cloud solution, there are multiple services that can be deployed on a particular cloud and you can interact with those servers at the same time."

Cons

"The workflow for variables could be better. The input and output of task-level variables could be made a little clearer in terms of passing those around from one task to another upon success, etc. Things like that could be a little easier potentially."
"The vendor is currently working on a solution that allows us to automatically create a process that is based on a document that we receive via email."
"The solution has a very weak knowledge base."
"While this solution is continually improving, as it is now, the user interface could use improvement when I compare it to a product like UiPath."
"Fortra's Automate is not as reliable as I would like it to be."
"The OCR for Hebrew text needs to be improved."
"The documentation is not that great."
"Regarding customer support, I face challenges sometimes. They're not always available, and you may need to wait for assistance, but overall their support is acceptable."
"They can have more advanced workflows. They can have some custom status in their workflow. It was there, but they can introduce more cases such as triggering an email or interacting with other systems with APIs. They can be included as stages in their workflow rather than doing it all by scripting."
"Initially, it was good, but now, in terms of ease of implementation and accuracy, there are better competitors in the market. What we are seeing in some of the other tools isn't there in ABBYY. They have to improve it to include such features. Otherwise, it will be difficult for them to compete in the market."
"Could be simplified, particularly the UI."
"I would like to see a machine learning model to make the solution more intelligent."
"Machine learning needs to be improved."
"ABBYY Vantage is mainly available on the public cloud but for clients that use a private cloud, it is complicated to set up the solution."
"Customization in the solution needs to be modified. In the future, I would like to see the product have better customization functionality."
"Since we are using a trial version, we don't have administration access to create a tenant to integrate my OCR series with Postman."
"It would be ideal if they could add support for rare services as well, to make it so that you can get a response both for SOAP and REST services."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I'm only involved in running the product and maintaining the systems, so I can't speak to the cost."
"From a distributor's perspective, one of the biggest selling points of Automate is its price point."
"It has gone up in price. The price of Fortra's Automate has increased since we first started using it. It does a lot but also costs a lot. It was a lot more affordable before Fortra owned the software."
"The pricing is quite reasonable. We can run the process with one bot. The limitation is at the server level because they have some resources, and sometimes that is enough. It isn't too expensive, so you can get a good return off of one, and you can also have a pack of five bots that is quite competitive."
"I believe the price falls within a reasonable range, which significantly influenced our decision regarding the product. This aspect is crucial for any technological solution, especially in our country where enterprises might be hesitant to invest heavily in something untested or uncertain about its practicality and potential returns."
"While solutions like UiPath and Blue Prism cost around $11,000-$12,000 for each license, this product costs around $7,000 and you can keep it forever."
"Compared to other products, the pricing model for this solution is much more convenient, flexible, and adaptable to the Portuguese reality."
"Once you buy the software, you just pay for the support for backend help."
"It is expensive as compared to UiPath. We pay for the licensing and the page count."
"Its price should be a little lower. It is a lot higher than the competition, and if they just break the gap a little, then more people might jump onto their product. Their price is definitely a deterrent in the few cases that I remember. They have monthly and yearly options, and if you want, they also have per project and per page options. They do charge extra for different types of installation. They have the standalone, which is pretty straightforward and a lot cheaper than the server installation. Server installation gives you a lot more, and it gives you control over the environment."
"The price of this ABBYY FlexiCapture is a bit expensive and the price is based on how many documents have been captured. For example, one or two million captures."
"The licenses for this solution are payable on a yearly basis, and are transferable from one year to the next, if they go unused. The license payment also includes a number of support hours from the vendor."
"The price of ABBYY FlexiCapture is better than some competitors, such as OpenText."
"I'd give ABBYY Vantage's pricing a rating of seven out of ten."
"Our license is $6,000 and includes unlimited users for the verification station."
"ABBYY is fairly priced."
