Find out in this report how the two Ethernet Switches solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The reliability of the solution has been the best feature."
"The hardware side is a very big advantage. We use it 24/7 and we haven't had any problems so far with the switches."
"The installation is quite straightforward."
"They are easy to use, they are cheaper, and it's a trusted brand."
"They're straightforward and stable."
"The top feature of Meraki MS switches for me is Layer 7 application visibility. Another positive in general is that you don't need to set up a console to the switch itself; it dials in to a single dashboard where you can completely manage all your network devices."
"I found the cloud-managed dashboard most valuable in Meraki MS Switches."
"It makes the management of SSIDs fairly easy."
"The most valuable feature of Meraki MS Switches is user-friendliness."
"We find value in its ability to enable cloud management and visibility. They are also easy to deploy. It's very convenient because you can see who is accessing, what type of UI system they're using, what applications they're using, the bandwidth, and more."
"It is easy to deploy, maintain, and update. It has been trouble-free so far. I am still a Cisco command-line bigot, but the web interface makes it a lot easier for our help desk to interact with a client. When the clients call in and say that they aren't able to connect, it takes the help desk 10 minutes or less to look at everything in the enterprise or location. They can look at the firewall, switches, or access points in the dashboard. That's why I like the dashboard."
"The management is cloud-based so you do not have to be on-premises to work with it."
"They're easy to update."
"The cost and the integration with other solutions could be better."
"I think there's nothing that needs to be improved because the company is no longer in existence."
"The technical support services need improvement in terms of communication."
"The configuration of 3Com H3C Switches could be better."
"When we try to do configuration changes sometimes it malfunctions."
"It could be more advanced and secure. Meraki MS Switches are ideal for a mid-sized enterprise. But you can't work with this appliance if you need more security or want to do complex or advanced things. Technical support could be better."
"The quote-building process is challenging and it needs to be simplified."
"The stability of the solution isn't ideal. We've had a lot of problems with the switches. They are unstable and unreliable. We need to reboot them often."
"The price for this product could be cheaper. For a low-budget school or institution, scaling up and implementing more switches could take longer because of budget constraints."
"Its troubleshooting features need work."
"This solution is too simple for some cases, and there should be more configuration options."
"On the switches, I don't know a whole lot that I would change. Different levels of switches have different layer 2 and layer 3 functionality. It's always nice to have layer 3 functionality across the board if you can, but that drives up the cost. They've got different lines for different amounts of layer 3 functionality. However, on their models that do include full layer 3 access, when you choose to use layer 3 on a switch, it doesn't have the full functioning routing capabilities of an MX firewall. It can be limiting in some of those aspects."
"They're definitely missing some of the higher end data center Cisco features."
