What is our primary use case?
I faced challenges when implementing BryteFlow SAP Data Lake Builder. As a partner, we had to finish our certificates. To complete the certificates, we connected to demo sites. For selling such a product, we had to buy or rent some period of that product. We tried to sell that product to one of our prospects, but SAP told us that we should buy it first. Then we rented it for three months and we looked for it to understand the capabilities. However, there is no actual prospect for us for SAP solutions.
The deployment seems easy. We use our browser to create our model, and it seems too easy to deploy. However, we did not complete a real project, so I could not give you the real insight. We personally tested it with our local Excel files, but as you know, it should be connected to some systems to understand the real issue. For demo sites, only we have the capability to load the data from Excel. There are some connectivities like SAP and BW, but they are not active, so we could not test them.
Overall, BryteFlow SAP Data Lake Builder has impacted my organization positively, although I actually just used it to get our certificate as a partner. It was not actually a real project. It was a training project. As an SAP partner, the main company SAP told us that we should have three certified engineers use the newly generated product. Every year we had to pass some exams to get the related score.
What is most valuable?
BryteFlow SAP Data Lake Builder has a user-friendly interface which has helped my team manage complex data workflows. The interface is fancy and easy to use.
As an SAP partner, the main company SAP told us that we should have three certified engineers use the newly generated product. Every year we had to pass some exams to get the related score.
What needs improvement?
There are some challenges about BryteFlow SAP Data Lake Builder that need to be eliminated or some enhancements need to be made. I could not test it completely. There are some limitations in the dashboard site. The dashboard tool is called SAP Analytic Cloud, but it is not powerful.
In the front end, when you try to use it, you simply find out that you could not create a measure in some cases. You could not create a dimension in some cases. There are some limitations in the product.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with SAP, specifically BryteFlow SAP Data Lake Builder, for about three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I do not use automated schema conversion, so I do not use this feature.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I do not use the intuitive scheduling feature.
How are customer service and support?
If I were to rate the technical support from SAP from one to ten, I would rate it as four. It is not very good. It takes time to get support from SAP.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I understand that I have a dedicated team for deployment, so I personally do not participate in installation. However, BryteFlow SAP Data Lake Builder is not a deployment product. It is a ready-to-use solution. There is an in-memory database on cloud. I use our browser to create tables. There is also an embedded BI tool inside it. It seems to be a complete solution.
What other advice do I have?
I am familiar with BryteFlow SAP Data Lake Builder.
I mostly work with the cloud version. I also used the on-premises edition, which is SAP HANA. The cloud edition should be database cloud.
The cloud solution that I am working with is served by SAP, so I do not know what clouds they use behind. I use the link to connect to that site. I think I am utilizing a private cloud.
I do not know if SAP has the real-time data replication feature, but perhaps for the SAP site, SAP put SAP HANA on centers. SAP HANA is an in-memory database. So we can put our ERP and our reporting layer on the in-memory database in the SAP site. This provides real-time analytics. HANA is in the center, it is in-memory and we can create, for example, a 30 terabyte memory in-memory HANA database. We can put everything in there. So we put applications on top of HANA. In that way, we can see real-time analytics in the SAP environment.
I purchased BryteFlow SAP Data Lake Builder directly from the vendor, from SAP. We are a vendor, but SAP told us that we should buy it first. We are an SAP partner.
There is a financial benefit for an organization to use BryteFlow SAP Data Lake Builder, as it could be beneficial in terms of finance. For SAP companies, it could be. For a company that uses an SAP product, they are trying to extend their solution with another SAP product. In some cases, we want to put some data in the cloud. For SAP customers, it is more meaningful. But for non-SAP customers, there are lots of companies to compute. It may be more meaningful for those who use SAP.
Regarding pricing, I should compare BryteFlow SAP Data Lake Builder to different solutions to understand the differences, but I do not remember the license cost.
My overall rating for this product is seven.
