It does this by providing protocols like iSCSI, NFS, and SMB. What is our primary use case?

AWS Storage Gateway can be used to store your data. Instead of sending the data to the internal file shares or UNC path, we can use the AWS S3 bucket, which is pretty good and fast. We can rely on AWS, and our data will not be compromised. When the data is at rest, it cannot be stolen or manipulated because it is encrypted.

AWS Storage Gateway is used when connecting from the internal on-premises servers or the internal on-premises UNC path to AWS. We need to use AWS Storage Gateway whenever data goes from on-premises to AWS or from AWS to on-premises.

What is most valuable?

The solution's documentation is really good, and any information is easily accessible.

It was used in hybrid environments. This was not necessarily specific to a vertical, but rather depended on how recent the data center was. The gateway was more for people who were not willing to go all in on cloud yet. It was for people who had legacy infrastructure that they wanted to maintain for a longer period of time.

Beneficial flexibility, secure, and little maintenance

We use a hybrid cloud strategy that we followed for AWS Storage Gateway. In some instances, we use it in the public cloud and others private cloud or mixed.

We use AWS Storage Gateway for all kinds of large data which is in our data centers and we want to migrate it to the cloud. This includes a lot of structured and unstructured data.
