I have been using 1NCE on and off over the past five years for IoT applications.

My main use case for 1NCE is that it provides IoT SIM cards. I work on IoT use cases where I bring sensors into the field. Those sensors might have power if you are lucky, but maybe do not even have power and you want to get some sensor values back from those sensors every once in a while. I use the mobile network for doing that.

A specific example of a project where I used 1NCE SIM cards for my sensors is when I worked in the chemical industry. They have their own area for traffic management and there was specific traffic that needed to be tracked. I brought in sensors to track that traffic. This was also an area where not a lot of traffic was present. So that meant we could run off batteries and scan the vehicles from there and have an understanding of who is where at what time for SHE, for safe, healthy, and environment purposes. IoT devices in essence, I was measuring traffic.

I think the cool part about 1NCE is that they provide SIM cards for ten years, making them relevant for ten years. It is fairly cheap to get a SIM card from them and if you have a need for particular networks, they support the breadth of networks. With IoT sensors, for example, the 2G and 3G are probably more used. NarrowBand-IoT is also available there. When you want to bring a sensor in the field, it is going to have a certain lifetime and you want to add a SIM card to that, and it is very easy to do that with 1NCE.

The best features 1NCE offers in my experience are that you get the SIM cards, you have a platform in which you can manage your SIM cards and you have a backend where you can also communicate. What I think is really powerful about 1NCE is that you can just order it online. It is very simple to do, you have it really quickly and it just works out of the box. If you would compare that to other mobile phone or mobile network providers, then this would be a lot of work with contracts and other administrative tasks. Here you do not have that. Another nice feature is that their platform allows for geofencing or geolocation, so you can identify where what towers are being used and where your sensor approximately is. This also helps with tracking. They have the capability to manage network access, whether devices can go directly to the internet or have a different approach of accessing those devices. This covers the breadth of needs for bringing IoT and mobile network together.

1NCE has impacted my organization positively because I am a freelancer and I deliver this to customers. Customers very often struggle with getting started with IoT. They have to think about contracts for mobile phone providers or mobile network providers. Because 1NCE has a very simple business model, it is very easy to understand, very easy to budget, and that lowers the threshold for companies that want to start with this.

I do not have any complaints about 1NCE at the moment. I do not have much to add about needed improvements.

I have been working in my current field for about ten plus years.

Regarding the stability of 1NCE, I appreciate that there is a little bit of maintenance, but they always call it out. I have never had unexpected downtime. Sometimes there was expected downtime, and I think that is good enough.

I find the scalability of 1NCE extremely easy; that is one of the core features.

The scalability of 1NCE means, first of all, can the platform handle the traffic? The answer is that there is no issue in that. But I think scaling also means onboarding new devices, and that is very simple to do. Getting the SIM cards is also a matter of within one or two days, you have a new SIM card. The scalability is also fast in that sense. It is not just easy, but it is also fast. And I think that makes it extremely good.

I have reached out to customer support very rarely, and it was always excellent. I rate the customer support a ten. They are extremely knowledgeable and effective. I also was not moved along; they could help me directly. That was great.

I had some experience with Vodafone and KPN, and that did not work very well.

The requisitioning process with 1NCE is extremely simple. It is very easy to get on board and start doing this. I think it means that your IT organization has a problem less to deal with. How big that problem is to begin with depends, of course, on your usage. I cannot provide concrete numbers, but I think it is the easiest way to bring IoT online through the mobile network.

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that it is cheap, simple, and easy.

I evaluated Vodafone and KPN before choosing 1NCE.

The core feature is not time saved in that sense. The core feature is that people actually start doing it, where they otherwise would not because it is just too laborious.

I rate 1NCE a ten out of ten.

I give it a ten because it is a seemingly simple problem, but as you start looking closer to it, it is actually a difficult problem that they are fixing. What I really appreciate about 1NCE, and I think they are the only player that really does it like this, is that they provide the SIM card and it just works. There is very little clutter in getting this operationalized. If you are with a bunch of IoT engineers working on a project and you actually need a SIM card, you can get that done in a matter of hours. The enablement is what I think is unique to 1NCE and what I really appreciate.

Regarding 1NCE's AI capabilities, I think it has a very good suite of tools. They also provide APN and OpenVPN solutions to get site-to-site connectivity, for example. You can make your own little infrastructure, your own little network for your own data, or you can just go through the internet, and that makes it so you can have many security postures fitting the need of your organization. They have a little bit of AI, and it works effectively. It works on the data you have inside of your platform, so the usage of your sensors and your IoT devices.

1NCE is a standalone platform hosted by Deutsche Telekom, and it is not hosted anywhere else. You can use OpenVPN, for example, to make site-to-site VPNs to connect it to any cloud provider that you like. Currently, it just goes over the internet and reaches different cloud providers depending on my customers.

My advice to anyone looking into using 1NCE is to just use it. It seems daunting at first; you just put in your credit card and then it works, and with anyone else, it is such a big problem. But it really is that simple. My overall rating for 1NCE is ten out of ten.

While the overall experience with 1NCE has been positive, there are a few areas where it could improve. The main area for improvement would be advanced analytics and reporting. Additional monitoring, alerting, and integration capabilities would also be helpful, especially for larger IoT deployments. Overall, the platform is easy to use and reliable, but these enhancements would make it even stronger.

1NCE has been used for more than one year.

1NCE is very stable. The AI outputs have been generally very accurate and consistent in our experience. While human validation is still important for critical use cases, the platform has been proven reliable, and the availability of multiple models through a single interface is a very significant advantage.

1NCE is quite flexible and supports a wide range of IoT devices and connectivity needs. The same platform can be used across different deployments, which simplifies management and makes it easier to scale as new devices and requirements are added.

The customer service team is very supportive.

The setup was quite easy because 1NCE is a managed cloud service. Devices were able to be connected and SIM management started quickly without significant infrastructure or configuration work. The platform is intuitive, and deployment was smoother than many traditional connectivity solutions. The customer support team was very helpful with the initial configuration and setup.

My advice is to clearly define your IoT use case and growth plans before deployment. If you value simplicity, predictable pricing, and centralized device management, 1NCE is a strong option. It is easy to deploy, scales efficiently, and helps to reduce the day-to-day effort of managing IoT connectivity. I would rate this product 9 out of 10.

In addition to sensors and smart monitors, 1NCE is also used for asset tracking devices in remote areas where reliable cellular connectivity is required.

1NCE's best features are global IoT connectivity, easy SIM management, wide network coverage, and cost-effective connectivity.

My main use case for 1NCE is the access point name, or APN. I used the API and access point name as the bridge between our hardware cellular modem and 1NCE's global core network, and it required manual configuration in our device's firmware.

1NCE has positively impacted our organization by providing predictable costs and low power efficiency, which allowed us to use power more efficiently.

That power efficiency affected our products and workflow by allowing our hardware to sleep more hours, wake up and send a payload, and shut down without wasting any energy negotiating prolonged cellular handshakes, resulting in much better battery life after switching.

The best features 1NCE offers are very predictable costs, which I think was one of the best features from a financial perspective, as it basically changed our unit economics and allowed us to treat our cellular connectivity as an upfront hardware bill of materials cost.

Treating the connectivity as a bill of materials impacted our budgeting positively because now when we sell a device to a customer, the lifetime connectivity is baked directly into the product price, so accounting loves it because there are zero surprise monthly bills.

To improve 1NCE, I think it takes a little bit long on starting up, specifically the first connection when the module registers on LTE-M. That was the annoying part.

I have been using 1NCE for a couple of years on and off.

For the APN settings, I pulled up some old notes and I used the AT command when I was configuring the APN in the hardware, specifically AT+CGDCONT equals one, so I set the flag to one, and then IP, the second parameter is IP, and then the third parameter, iot.1nce.net, is an example command that we used for our Quectel cellular modem.

I would rate 1NCE an eight on a scale of one to ten. I chose an eight because it did not allow us to completely drop our monthly telecom bills, but we dropped them a little bit.

Regarding 1NCE's AI capabilities, I think its governance and security are clean and functional, checking SIM status, IP addresses, and data usage, and I think it is secure with the REST API. I find 1NCE's AI capabilities pretty accurate with its output.

My advice for others looking into using 1NCE is to not use it solely for global roaming.

On-premises

My main use case for 1NCE is for IoT devices. I use 1NCE like eSIMs in my IoT devices, which function as sensors, trackers, and manage their connectivity of IoT devices globally. This eliminates the need to worry about monthly billings and similar administrative tasks. 1NCE works in over 100 countries, which is beneficial. Since I use 1NCE for IoT devices, it has significantly changed IoT device management and everything related to it.

The best feature that 1NCE offers is the lifetime flat fee. I get it one time and I am set. SIM management is easy, SIM support is straightforward, power consumption is low, and it works great. I find myself relying on the one-time payment feature the most, and SIM compatibility in over 100 countries truly stood out for me.

The management of my devices has changed significantly. The dashboard access is globally accessible, so no matter if my devices move from one location to another, I always have access and can monitor everything.

1NCE has a 500 MB lifetime cap, which is tight for some IoT devices that use more data. Additionally, 1NCE is limited to IoT devices only, and sometimes the coverage cost can be surprising.

A specific example of how I'm using 1NCE for my customers is in project management and organization of projects about customers, user interface, and process flows. 1NCE fits into my project management and user interface work by assisting with data management and tracking devices on the inventory. 1NCE helps me accomplish this very quickly, with some considerations around user interface mechanics.

The best features 1NCE offers in my experience include IoT management with very fast speed of integration with other systems. The integration with other systems works well for me as it is easy to connect other software and IoT integrations, although it is more difficult to integrate IoT of external production systems. 1NCE has positively impacted my organization by improving efficiency for less skilled persons within the organization. It has improved efficiency by enhancing connectivity and helping teams work better internally.

1NCE can be improved regarding connectivity and simple tasks inside the product. The wireless connectivity to IoT devices should be improved. Regarding 1NCE's AI capabilities, I think its governance is better than security, but I believe the security should be improved. In terms of 1NCE's AI capabilities, it is needed to improve the accuracy, but the reliability is acceptable for the output.

I have been using 1NCE for about two years.

My advice for others looking into using 1NCE is to implement IoT on the PCE product in the industry, mechanical, and automotive systems. 1NCE is deployed in my organization using a hybrid cloud setup with some on-premise and some private cloud infrastructure. For the hybrid or private cloud setup, I use AWS and Azure Microsoft. I would rate 1NCE a nine out of ten because of the simplification of installing and integrating the systems around it.
