There are some areas of improvement I would mention regarding SAS Viya Platform. New users may find it complex initially, as its learning curve can be steep. Understanding CAS and different components is very challenging for a new user. The cost is also quite high; SAS Viya Platform via SaaS can be expensive compared to some open-source or other cloud alternatives. There are also some limitations in Visual Analytics. While it is easy to use, it could be more flexible compared to Power BI or Tableau. These are the main improvement areas where SAS Viya Platform should focus. I would add some additional pointers about needed improvements in SAS Viya Platform. Regarding customer support, it is good, but the response time for complex issues can sometimes be slower than expected. The documentation and learning resources are not very beginner-friendly, making it challenging for beginners to navigate. Regarding integration, it could be smoother with Databricks, Snowflake, and Power BI, but it is more complex than it should be. Since updates are automatic, users are sometimes not fully aware of changes or new features that are being updated, as compared to Power BI, which publishes updates on its website. SAS Viya Platform should work on these aspects.

I find the process of creating visualizations in SAS Viya Platform very fast, as I use the Explore and Visualization application of SAS Viya Platform. It made my work very fast, allowing me to present data in a very unique way. The sponsor or the client of a company can relate with the data and can see the real-time data using dashboards, reports, and interactive dashboards, which is very useful for me and saves my time. The feature of graphical representation under Explore and Visualization is the best feature I find in SAS Viya Platform because while creating a report, I can do many things that graphical presentation adds value to my daily routine work. Another useful feature in SAS Viya Platform is data visualization, specifically graphical representation in the report or dashboard. The graphical options in the Explore and Visualization are very awesome, and I use them often, which helps a lot. SAS Viya Platform has positively impacted my organization, as previously I was using SAS 9.4, and after migrating to SAS Viya Platform, we are able to present the data in useful ways that save our time and give sponsors a new opportunity to look at the data, which is a very good thing. SAS Viya Platform helps a lot; the features are great, and the AI support is also very good.

We have integrated SAS Viya Platform with open source tools; we have built controls to integrate with our handling systems. The integration depends a bit on the version; I was not very happy with how it was done in 3.5 with the SWAT package, but I think it is better now in 4.0, especially concerning integration for R and Python. Assessing the usability of SAS Viya Platform's data visualization tools for non-technical stakeholders, our group has not managed to train others effectively, as there is a gap; they must understand the data they are viewing. Data literacy is too low in our organization; they may know their part, but they need to filter and integrate the data. We keep it mainly in the analytics field to build reports. It is not self-service, and the users must know how to filter data and understand what they are doing. We usually use classical metrics to evaluate the success of machine learning models on SAS Viya Platform, including logistic regression and tree models, focusing on recall, sensitivity, and specificity because relying solely on accuracy can be misleading with unbalanced groups. It is better to look at the groups individually. I give this review an overall rating of 7.
