Another valuable feature that AlphaSense offers is AI summaries of earnings reports. AlphaSense can be improved by having a mechanism to add comments inside my own notes. I also believe AlphaSense could benefit from a mechanism for uploading documents. I give a rating of 9 out of 10 for these reasons.

I have been using AlphaSense for almost five years, and I find it to be one of the best tools for my competitive intelligence pharma forecasting projects. I also use AlphaSense within primary market research, secondary market research, to hear about analyst commentary, to look on the company website, and investor documents, as well as to track company events hosted by big pharma players such as AstraZeneca and Roche. We get transcripts and ready reckoner transcripts on AlphaSense, which are really helpful for our projects.

My main use case for AlphaSense involves obtaining a curated list of company documents organized year-wise, month-wise, and quarter-wise. Secondly, I use AlphaSense to take curated transcripts for all the sessions and events hosted by the big pharma companies. Third, I use AlphaSense for its AI component, which allows me to ask a question and receive an AI-based answer. I rely on AlphaSense for these three types of queries.

In a recent project focused on competitive benchmarking, we aimed to benchmark four competitors, four big pharma players, by covering their competitive intensity, pipeline, portfolio tracking, news, and alerts monitoring. Ultimately, we needed to provide strategic recommendations to our client within the lung cancer space, and in this oncology tumor project, I used AlphaSense to have all the updated data, including all the filings for the four competitors, company events, investor presentations, and the recent conferences. Every data point, along with the data source, was sourced through AlphaSense.

In another use case while working on the clinical trial pipeline, we found a list of products and had to prioritize the top three assets from that list. From AlphaSense, we found the latest trial result that was not available even on secondary resources or the company website. We found this information in one of the analyst reports covered by AlphaSense, where we discovered the data of a failed trial, which was a key point as we removed that asset from our client's final deliverable.

AlphaSense has positively impacted my organization by saving a substantial amount of man hours when we calculate the time spent working on a project. It has also increased productivity, as the time required to search for data from secondary domains or company websites has reduced by almost 60%. For instance, if we needed to complete a project in two weeks, including data mining, we can now finish it in approximately one week, making a significant enhancement in productivity and time savings at an organizational level.

This time savings and productivity boost have significantly improved our team and client relationships. For example, previously, if our team was allocated one project, they would only focus on that due to time constraints and strict quality delivery. Now, because a lot of time is saved and productivity is enhanced, we are able to work on multiple projects within the same timeframe, which has transformed our workflow and outcomes.

The best features offered by AlphaSense include the chronological order of all curated databases for reports and documents company-wise, its comprehensive coverage of almost all private and public pharma companies, and its ability to cover the most recent transcripts quickly after events. Lastly, I particularly appreciate the analyst AI component, which allows me to interact with AlphaSense and receive insights combining human and AI intelligence. These four features stand out to me the most in AlphaSense.

One thing I wish more people knew about AlphaSense is that it is a complete database in itself. If a company has a subscription to this tool, I do not believe additional subscriptions are needed, such as EvaluatePharma, Data Monitor, Cortellis, or any other database, because AlphaSense covers all the key metrics and KPIs needed for any pharma project.

AlphaSense's AI capabilities are significant, and I believe the data we receive is very much secure and relevant, aligning well with the questions and prompts we enter into the database. AlphaSense has consistently provided me with good results, and I do not recall any instances of data conflicts or mismatches in the information. It has been accurate.

Currently, I do not see any challenges or pain points with AlphaSense because I have access to a 24/7 support team. We receive all the up-to-date data and key metrics in one place. However, one area for improvement could be the coverage of additional metrics, such as patents, as legal or regulatory information is somewhat less available on AlphaSense at this time.

Regarding needed improvements, I think it would be beneficial if AlphaSense could integrate additional data sources, such as USPTO, Espacenet, and European patent data. This would allow us to avoid searching on legal patent websites and find everything we need within AlphaSense itself.

My experience with AlphaSense indicates it is stable, and I have not encountered any downtime or technical issues, especially with the 24/7 support team available to address all our queries.

AlphaSense handles growing workloads and more users smoothly in my organization.

I have had multiple interactions with the customer support team, and they are very helpful and knowledgeable, solving all my queries promptly. I would rate customer support a perfect 10.

Before AlphaSense, we used EvaluatePharma, Data Monitor, Cortellis, and AdisInsight. We made the switch to AlphaSense after COVID due to its AI component and the new features that prior databases did not offer.

I have seen a return on investment with AlphaSense, particularly in the metric of time saved. Since time was saved, the need for hiring additional people also reduced.

Regarding my experience with pricing, setup costs, and licensing, I am not heavily involved at the organizational level. However, when we join a new company, such as when I was with BioXcel and CoreSight, we automatically receive login IDs and credentials from the AlphaSense team since our organization has a subscription.

We evaluated other AI-based tools such as Claude, Perplexity, and NotebookLM before choosing AlphaSense, which we found to be more authentic, life science-focused, and reliable in terms of data for the pharma and healthcare industries.

I would rate AlphaSense a nine out of ten. I gave it a nine out of ten due to usability factors that prevent me from giving it a perfect score, but a nine works for me. One piece of advice I offer to those considering AlphaSense is to participate in the training session, as the AlphaSense team provides an introductory meeting to new users. Having a thorough knowledge of all the features and support available is crucial for maximizing the utility of this software. My overall review rating for AlphaSense is nine out of ten.

My main use case for AlphaSense is to analyze competitors and track industries that have been present to find insights in a huge volume of data quickly.

A specific example of how I have used AlphaSense in my day-to-day work is that it has been majorly used in finance since it is identified as an AI tool. The detection of this particular AI engine is excellent. To search anything from this particular keyword, I can easily find all the data, the old data, the financial data, and the data which has been used for research tools, which makes more sense.

The best features AlphaSense offers are market research, smart search, sentiment analysis, watch lists and alerts, and collaboration tools for teams. These are the key features I use on a daily basis.

I personally find the best feature of AlphaSense to be its use of artificial intelligence and the ability to access private research reports in their databases, which has positively impacted my organization by saving time on routine tasks.

AlphaSense has positively impacted my organization, and it has been excellent from the AI engine point of view, defining accuracy and usefulness to analyze in a particular platform and allowing deep research in the organization, which has really helped me. Additionally, with the Excel API, I can extract information through the Excel plugin.

I have noticed improvements in decision-making speed, as it was taking three hours to analyze and manage the data, but thanks to AlphaSense, it is now done within a fraction of minutes.

I would improve the Excel plugins, which are already present. The integration with Excel needs enhancement.

Extracting historical data from filings has saved me a lot of time since without AlphaSense I would have to open file by file and manually find the data myself. Instead, with AlphaSense, it gives me the history of all the data for the same metric very easily and quickly.

The best features that AlphaSense offers are the artificial intelligence and access to private research reports that are in its database.

Regarding the artificial intelligence, I describe the accuracy or usefulness of the analyses that the platform provides me as quite good, since it can do deep research.
