Developed and supported ongoing deployments of a mobile barcode-scanning ERP application suite for the dairy industry, attached to a premise-based ERP. The GUI was developed using MCL3-Designer, and attached to a SQL Server database. BarTender Enterprise Edition is used to automate barcode label printing for finished goods at the production line and as a part of the Inventory Maintenance and advanced Pick/Pack/Ship functions.
If I had to do it over again, I would have ceased using MCL and would have written the app as a pure Mobile Web application as soon as the Android platform stared to become popular. Unfortunately, the company I worked for had a large base of established users that were pushing for enhancements on the current platform, and no resources to apply to future-proofed development.
