I've found that the replication and High Availability features are the most valuable. It doesn't reclaim disk space when rows are deleted.

What is most valuable?

In my use of Percona Server, I've found that the replication and High Availability features are the most valuable.

What needs improvement?

It doesn't reclaim disk space when rows are deleted. There have been requests for this feature for some time now. The developers say that it's very difficult to do, which I understand, but it's been several years.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used it for six years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

I've had no issues with deployment.

I've had no issues with scalability.

Customer Service:

Because it's open source and free, there's no customer service.

Because it's open source and free, there's no technical support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

This is the only version I've used, which is basically MySQL.

How was the initial setup?

The setup was very straightforward as the documentation and community were very good with guidance.

What about the implementation team?

I implemented and deployed it by myself.

What was our ROI?

The product is free, so the ROI is high.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It's free.

What other advice do I have?

My general advice, which is for any database really, is to plan ahead and design the database accordingly and, over a period of time, tweak the configurations in the my.cnf file.
