We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"If you have windows machine at home and you'd like a backup, you can always download their free edition and plug in an external hard disk, and do a full backup of your laptop.""The solution is meeting all of our client's requirements. It has good performance.""The installation of Veeam Agent is straightforward.""The solution is very affordable for small businesses.""It is good and easy to use for backing up physical servers. It is working fine, and it is stable and scalable.""The product is free to use. We don't have to pay for a license.""Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows's most useful features is the ease of use and user-friendly.""The solution is useful for taking backups for end-user laptops and end-user workstations where data is involved."

"The product could be improved if they wrote more PowerShell scripts for controlling Veeam.""It is a stable and scalable solution that's easy to operate and restore.""One of the most valuable features is the integration. Another good feature is the instant recovery.""It's very easy to work with and it's very reliable.""The instant VM recovery feature is the most valuable. It is a very good tool for disaster recovery. It is also easy to manage.""Its backup capabilities in general are great.""It's relatively easy to use and the ability to recover in a short period of time has been great.""Integration with VMware is excellent with very granular recovery."

Cons
"The price of Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows could improve.""Some customers have Oracle databases and Veeam does support back up of Oracle databases.""In the next release, I would like to see it easier to implement.""The compression ratio and application ratio could still be improved in this solution. Reporting could also be improved, for better monitoring.""There isn't really anything I would like to improve. Maybe the solution could be more secure.""A feature I would like to see is universal restore. At the moment, restoration can only be smooth on the same hardware. Let's say you have a server and you back it up with Veeam Agent, in case it fails or crashes. If you later buy a new server because the same one isn't available on the market anymore, there's a high chance that Windows will not boot up if you restore from the Veeam backup because the hardware is now different. Acronis has the universal restore feature, so it will work with generic drivers and you can restore Windows in any dissimilar hardware. As far as I know, Veeam doesn't have this feature yet.""It fulfills our needs in terms of features. In terms of improvements, they can maybe improve its documentation.""With the currency exchange, the solution ends up being quite expensive."

More Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows Cons →

"I would like to see more broad support for other applications such as databases, or other operating systems.""The recovery and integration features of Veeam Backup Replication could improve. For example, all VM integration could improve, such as with Hyper-V and VMware.""The implementation was straightforward. However, we used an integrator, the process could be easier for us to do it ourselves.""I only ever found one error. It was when we were doing a file copy job. After using it for ten minutes, it would slow down and cause a bottleneck error.""Integration with other equipment could be improved.""The solution could improve by having a version to be compatible with the Linux system. They have improved the storage depository using the Linux proxy and Linux storage, but it can completely run on the Linux environment it would be much better.""I don't see much room for improvement except that the price could be better.""The initial setup can get complex."

    • Cloud Repository (Veeam Cloud Connect)
    • Backup Repository (Veeam Backup Server)
    • Network Shared Folder
    • Local Computer Drive
    • Removable Storage Device (USB, CD, DVD, etc)
    • Microsoft OneDrive

    • Volume-level restore: Veeam Agent is able to restore the complete content of the entire volume. The solution retrieves the data blocks pertaining to the designated volumes and copies them to the desired location. A volume can then be restored to a new location or its original location.

    • File-Level Restore: Veeam Agent will use Veeam’s proprietary driver to publish backup content safely to a user's computer file system. Users can then access the content user Veeam’s Virtual Disk Driver (VDK), which is included with the solution. Users can then easily browse and copy the desired files and folders to use as desired.

    Veeam Recovery Media

Veeam Agent for Windows allows users to create a complete recovery image of their computer using Veeam Recovery Media. This image contains all data necessary to run Microsoft Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) while supplying a viable option to run users’ computer systems.
