We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiGate are remote access, web filtering, and IPS.""The most valuable features are the enterprise modeling and the simple interface.""We have been able to offer several services to customers in a single box.""It performs very well.""It is quite easy to handle.""You can create multiple Virtual Domains (VDOMs), which are treated as separate firewall instances.""Centralized monitoring, policy management, and virtualized appliances allow us to take control over our public and private infrastructure.""Overall security features and performance routing is good."

"The solution has no additional charges and no restrictions on the number of users.""One of the standout features of SonicWall is its simplicity in creating and managing rules.""The security of this system is fantastic, including the IPS and IDS.""We purchased the AGSS Bundle (Advanced Gateway Security Suite) for the security services, such as antivirus, intrusion prevention system, and anti-spyware botnet GUI.""SonicWall NSV is easy to use, and you can use it to manage the logs easily.""The customization of firewall rules provides great value to our customers as it allows them to lock things up in the way that they desire. When it is used for internal access, with a VPN in place for remote workers, the firewalling services provided by Azure, such as the default services that can be turned on, are applied. However, the use of a software-based virtual firewall gives us greater flexibility in introducing security controls for customers who are publishing applications that are publicly accessible from the public cloud. This virtual firewall provides an additional layer of security and more extensive security control options to ensure the protection of our customers' valuable information and assets.""The product helps improve our security."

"The product is a simple and user-friendly UTM that can handle accounting, reporting, firewall, IPS, and antivirus for industries.""The solution is excellent for web and application filtering and remote access with the VPN.""The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is a very strong product with good support.""Web and content filtering are valuable in preventing people from abusing the network and pushing up the bandwidth price.""The tool's robust features allow for the customization of policies, objects, and firewall settings.""SD-WAN and IPSec features are valuable to me.""We are using it as a security shield. It does not allow access before that in case we have restricted a few things from users, so it helps me in that.""There are plenty of features available, such as Full Guard and WAN."

Cons
"Fortinet FortiGate can be integrated with different platforms. They have integrations in place, but I can't say they're 100%.""Price, of course, can always be more competitive or better.""They need faster serviceability and more security features.""Fortinet needs more memory to save the log files. We need it to save the logs on the hardware and not in the cloud. I know this feature is available in FortiCloud, but if we need this log locally, it is not available.""Fortinet FortiGate could improve by having a frequent ask questions(FAQ) area for people to receive quick answers to popular questions. Additionally, it would be beneficial to have an SMS notification feature. For example, if you cannot access your email you could receive an SMS message.""It needs more available central management.""If they could extend their fabric towards other vendor environments for integration, that would be great.""The support costs and licensing are sometimes so expensive."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"There are limitations to bandwidth management.""SonicWall NSV's initial setup is complicated and requires good knowledge.""An area that could be improved is the export and import settings functionality.""It has been brought to our attention by a few customers that they are dissatisfied with the fact that our virtualized service is only offered as a subscription option on the cloud. However, it is worth noting that many other similar services are also offered through a subscription model on the cloud and not through perpetual licensing. It is unclear why these customers would have an issue with this subscription service when so many others are utilizing similar methods.""SonicWall NSV's SSL VPN could increase its number of users to 100-plus users.""I would like to see the reporting opened up and have several more opportunities for automatic reports.""We face some challenges when we upgrade the solution."

More SonicWall NSv Cons →

"The product is at its end-of-life. There is nothing to improve as it will be discontinued.""When it comes to web filtering and application filtering, it does not contain enough signatures to determine all of the sites that need to be blocked.""Once in a while, an unwanted email will slip in. You have to set your parameters to avoid that happening, but once in a while, an email has slipped past firewall. Once you update the firmware, you notice that it doesn't happen. If an email slips in, I get a little bit worried. I do get the report, but you just don't want that situation happening in the first place.""The implementation policy needs improvment.""Sometimes, users are timed out intermittently.""In my experience the solution can be easier to configure with more documentation, we need more training.""I would like to see real-time alerts on traffic insights.""We use different workarounds and find different solutions for it, depending on the client's needs. We shouldn't have to, we should just be able to use the product as it comes with Cyberoam, rather than having to revert to other products."
