Behavioral AI has protected critical applications and now blocks complex external attacks
I think Salt Security could improve their implementations. The one that I saw was very complex and took quite a bit of time, and if the environment is unique at all, it takes quite a bit of time to figure out how to properly ensure that it will be implemented. A lot of times there is a steep learning curve for someone that hasn't been in it to figure out the APIs and really dig deep into it, but once you get used to it, it is easy. However, that ramp-up period could be tough. I think Salt Security could use a more enterprise focus. Some of the smaller companies that I have referred them to think it is a little bit too complex for them, so if they could come up with a different version or something a little bit easier to simplify their platform, they may be able to find more customers that way.

Improved our security posture thanks to comprehensive visibility
I have contacted Wiz technical support frequently. The support is excellent. We contact via an in-application portal. We can see the support cases we personally open, and also the cases that other people have opened from our company. I appreciate that feature. Generally, support gets back to us within a few days with a good answer. There was one fellow in particular who has been knocking it out of the park. He is a great support person to deal with. We are happy with the support experience. If I were to put Wiz support on a scale from one to ten, I would give them a ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Salt Security has positively impacted my organization and my client's organization by being able to stop cyberattacks and ensure that they have proper security over all their applications, giving them a sense of peace of mind that they have security over something that could ultimately take down the whole company if not mitigated properly."
"It's really great. I would rate the stability a nine out of ten. I haven't encountered any instability issues."
"Salt Security gave me much better visibility into API risk, helping me identify exposed endpoints, misconfigured APIs, and sensitive data flowing through APIs that required additional controls, and it has become an important part of my API security program."
"Salt Security gives you visibility of all your APIs, identifies API security issues, and immediately alerts you of attacks."
"Our most important features are those around entitlement, external exposure, vulnerabilities, and container security."
"One feature I particularly appreciate about Wiz is that, similar to other cloud-native security tools like Microsoft's Defender for Cloud, it allows you to define policies as code and deploy them through a version control system with a continuous deployment pipeline."
"The tool is very powerful in nature."
"One of the things that Wiz has done well is that there are no agents for the CSPM, at least from what we are doing, and it is very easy to roll out, easy to configure, maintain, and generally it does what it says it does with few issues."
"The most valuable feature of Wiz is that it keeps information up to date without needing to perform scans or schedule maintenance windows. It provides a fresh snapshot of our vulnerability metrics."
"Wiz has impacted our organization very positively because it includes various advanced features such as compliance audits, continuous security monitoring, and vulnerability management, along with cloud assistance and DevSecOps integration."
"Wiz has helped me consolidate some tools, as it is not just doing the job of the security tool alone, and we do not need to invest in multiple tools because all aspects such as infrastructure, application, vulnerabilities, and the regular security scoring patterns are in-built into Wiz along with the inventory manager."
"Overall, I believe Wiz is doing a great job, simplifying many aspects for security professionals and enterprises."

Cons

"The integration part could be a bit extended."
"The setup cost was acceptable, but adding additional APIs was actually quite expensive."
"Regarding scalability, for users in smaller environments, it is not exactly the best."
"We would like to see improvements to executive-level reporting and data reporting in general, which we understand is being rolled out to the platform."
"I cannot recommend Wiz to others until I have a clear understanding of its full capacity and benefits."
"I choose eight out of ten because there is always room for improvement."
"An area of improvement is that there is a lot of data inside Wiz and the naming is confusing, as similar categories for vulnerabilities and issues sometimes duplicate issues across resources, which can be hectic."
"More or less, Wiz is doing well, but the false alerts at random times would be another area for improvement."
"One significant issue is that the searches are case-sensitive, so finding a misconfigured resource can become very challenging."
"I feel there is a bit of noise in the initial setup and quality cleaning that may take time in larger environments."
"I have seen some lagging or downtime a couple of times, but I am not sure why it happened."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Wiz is a moderately priced solution, where it is neither cheap nor costly."
"The cost of the other solutions is comparable to Wiz."
"Based on the features and capabilities, the product pricing seems reasonable."
"If one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the tool's price as a five out of ten."
"Regarding pricing, it’s more than $100k because we have a very big infrastructure. Our environment supports around three thousand people, and we offer business-to-client financial services to around one million clients, so we rely heavily on Wiz."
"The pricing seems pretty simple. We don't have to do a lot of calculations to figure out what the components are. They do it by enabling specific features, either basics or advanced, which makes it easy to select."
"I wish the pricing was more transparent."
"The pricing is fair and comparable to their competitors. The cost seems to be going up, which is a concern. There are potential savings from consolidating tools, but we're uncertain how Wiz's pricing will change over time."
