User access management excels but needs enhancements with integration capabilities
I was aware of that because I used to manage these solutions earlier on, but it was purchased by the Procurement team, so I was not involved in any of those. There are certain details I may not be able to disclose currently, but we can speak in general about a number of products and tools that are ongoing. I have not been using access management controls here, so I don't have the latest features or details or hands-on experience in that space. I cannot share all the details about the improvements in security operations since we were exploring some products, but I'm familiar with Saviynt as I was one of their partners for other solutions, and currently, I cannot disclose a lot of performance related to my current roles.

The ability to customize the UI would be good nonetheless, it is still a great interface.
Don't get overwhelmed with the product, and give an honest effort in trying to implement it yourself. You will find that you have opened an enormous door for yourself to get anything done. Since I started using UMRA, any request that comes through my desk is almost immediately possible because I know what UMRA can do. Also, creating the projects yourself, will save you time and money in the future when updates are needed to existing projects. Tools4Ever technical support is always available to answer questions if you get stuck. That said, UMRA is primarily a user management tool for your users, in whatever directory you happen to be using; So my statement above will only apply if you are also quite well versed with the workings of said directory.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Our user lifecycle takes less time with SailPoint IdentityIQ, as previously it would take around one day to get all the users access, and now it is an automatic process with a good authentication authorization mechanism."
"The solution is very good at the management of the identity lifecycle."
"It provides a lot of out-of-the-box functionalities. You don't have to do too much custom development like other solutions such as Microsoft or NetIQ. It also has a lot of out-of-the-box connectors for different sources, directories, databases, etc. Its cloud version is working very well, and its pricing is okay. Its value for money is fine for most of the customers. It is also very flexible. They have frequent new releases and patches for fixing errors and things like that."
"Access certification and provisioning are two of the solutions most valuable features."
"It is a stable tool, which we run in our complex environment."
"The solution's most valuable feature is its ease of use."
"This solution has improved our organization through its ease of application onboarding, approvals, provisioning, and lifecycle UI performance."
"On balance we find IdentityIQ to have the best mix of functionality and ease of use, as well as being the easiest and most flexible to deploy."
"UMRA has been in production for seven years, and I can confidently say that I have never had a single issue with stability, even through upgrades."

Cons

"This solution is difficult to configure."
"SailPoint lacks some features like privileged account management and access management features found in products like Okta."
"Regarding the scope for improvement in the solution, reporting is an area that can be a bit more UI-oriented."
"I would like to see more Cloud management from this product."
"The customer support process is slow at times because they do not have proper language support for my clients in Latin America speaking Spanish."
"Complex configuration if you want to have AD forest architecture in place."
"SailPoint IdentityIQ has a primitive AI engine."
"Should have authentication modules as well"
"Scalability, however, can only happen vertically on any particular instance, as opposed to horizontally."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"You are able to get discounts if you plan to use the tool for the long-term i.e. discounts for 5+ years of usage."
"I found the pricing to be relatively high."
"SailPoint IIQ is the best of best. That is reflected in the pricing of the solution. The pricing is based on the number of identities."
"You do pay one price for the license but that price depends on what you choose to include as far as the optional modules go."
"It is affordable licensing."
"The price of the solution could improve, it is not priced well for smaller businesses to afford."
"SailPoint is higher in price as compared to Saviynt. The initial cost of SailPoint is very high. There are additional costs to the standard licensing fees."
"It's difficult to say that the solution saved costs because it is quite expensive."
