I do not have experience with Microsoft Purview products, but I know some Proofpoint products. I apologize, I do not have experience with the Purview one, but I do know the Proofpoint products. I'm not sure about the features of the Purview one. Compared to other products, Proofpoint's real-time threat intelligence makes it less noisy. They collect and share threat information effectively, which benefits all customers. I have seen a lot of improvements in Proofpoint's reporting and analytics compared to earlier days. As a leader in the market, I find the pricing for Proofpoint Email Protection is a little high. Their licensing models vary, and even the premium model adequately supports awareness campaigning, so I find it acceptable. Normally, they sell their products through resellers, not directly through AWS Marketplace. For us, we are clients of Proofpoint. I rate Proofpoint Email Protection a nine out of ten.

A simple and easy-to-handle solution that does not need multiple configurations, but its pricing could be improved
Trustifi Inbound Shield is a simple and easy-to-handle solution where we don't have to go for multiple configurations. A single IT admin supporting over 100 or 200 users can easily understand everyday reports. Trustifi Inbound Shield is a user-friendly solution that even simple lay people can understand. The product helps our customers avoid 95% of unwanted phishing emails.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"URL scanning and online relay service are the most valuable features of Proofpoint Email Protection."
"Compared to other products, Proofpoint's real-time threat intelligence makes it less noisy; they collect and share threat information effectively, which benefits all customers."
"It's very good at identifying threats."
"The most valuable feature of Proofpoint Email Protection is the TAP Dashboard. It provides more detailed information that can be used for forensic analysis. This is an advantage that other email security providers, such as Cisco, IronPort, or Microsoft do not offer in their dashboards."
"The most valuable feature is the option to edit the inbound security."
"From a business perspective, the solution was very helpful as it speeded our business flow and increased email delivery."
"The most valuable features of Proofpoint Email Protection are ease of use, data loss prevention, antivirus, and spam protection."
"It's easy to use, even for those new to IT."
"Trustifi Inbound Shield is a simple and easy-to-handle solution where we don't have to go for multiple configurations."

Cons

"I would want better spear phishing protection in the essentials package."
"Sometimes it doesn't detect actual spam emails, and sometimes it catches normal emails."
"They do not have an on-demand scan for the internal viruses and internal users, and they don't have a scan for the exchange server against viruses and spam as Symantec does."
"Proofpoint should have better integration with complex environments that need more than one instance of Proofpoint, as there are issues with nested instances."
"The setup requires expertise. It needs someone with experience on managing it, and I would rate the implementation as needing someone experienced."
"The accessibility of Proofpoint Email Protection, particularly access to product trials, could be improved. It's hard to get a trial for Proofpoint Email Protection, and many customers prefer not just to do the POC or demo but try the product out."
"You only receive one model in Proofpoint Email Protection and the other ones you have to purchase at a high price. There should be more available with the solution and additional models should be less expensive."
"The product's deployment is complex and requires technical knowledge."
"The solution's pricing is very high compared to other products like Barracuda and should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is reasonable."
"Clients pay for an annual subscription of Proofpoint Email Protection. Every client always finds it expensive."
"It is on a yearly basis. Their floor for SMB doesn't matter. The user count is 100 users and below at $2,500 a year. Its cost is higher than other solutions. It is probably about 20% to 30% higher than what you would get with Microsoft. There are no additional costs. All costs are factored in. It can be improved pricing-wise so that it is affordable for the SMB market."
"It is multiple times more expensive, which made it very much less attractive."
"Proofpoint Email Protection has comparable pricing."
"They are competitively priced, but I have been forced to get quotes for other solutions now because they haven't been responding to requests to do the work that we would like them to do."
"The solution is expensive."
"Pricing has recently been increased and the cost is a downside"
