Scales well and technical support is good, but it is expensive
The majority of our customers nowadays are looking forward to having cloud-based control models. However, some of our clients have to keep their data in their own data center in order to satisfy compliance. In summary, compared to the other products that are available in India, technical support and scalability are good. Overall, it is a very good product. That said, there are other tools that meet the feature requirements and are more cost-effective. I would rate this solution a six out of ten.

Centralized management strengthens compliance with good look and feel
From my perspective as a customer and end user, Archer has an impressive look and feel, but the most adaptive feature is its ease of configuration which helps to enhance our process according to our maturity. It's more about our organization getting centralized with an integrated approach that focuses on risk governance and compliance. When can provide a detailed dashboards to management with the details of risks from top-down or bottom-up prioritizing actions based on its criticality or necessity. This allows us to show end users and management where the issues lie and effectively demonstrate accountability and visibility in compliance.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"In summary, compared to the other products that are available in India, technical support and scalability are good."
"The interface is simple to use."
"The risks which impact the organization or the IT section are presented in a well-displayed manner, which helps us to plan for, manage, or even mitigate risks."
"RSA Archer is a valuable tool because it can manage the end-to-end functioning of any enterprise GRC module, such as compliance and risk management or business continuity plans and the entire BCM module."
"The solution has improved my organization by having everything combined into a single platform."
"The most valuable feature is the enterprise module, which provides the capability of having all of the information stored and linked with everything else."
"RSA Archer's best features are advanced workflow, reports, dashboards, and notifications."
"With this tool, once it was built and designed, we were able to use our own internal resources, we don't need to go outside, all of the questions are already there, the policies and procedures are already built-in and you just need to tweak them a bit, so it helps us just in understanding what's there on the ground and overall it saves us a lot of money to be spent if we are taking care of these services individually."
"With RSA Archer, an admin can set permissions for a normal user to go directly to the tool they need to input some data. Admins can then go through that and approve some requests. Also, they can log in based on these kinds of permissions, including ticketing, service patches, or upgrades."
"You can do wonders with this tool, but you have to be very specific in your utilization."

Cons

"There are not many partners for this product in India, which makes the OEM very difficult to reach."
"Compared to similar products by other vendors, this is an expensive one."
"There should be an in-built feature that allows live data from vulnerabilities and threats from reliable sources to be streamed directly through their data field."
"The user interface needs work. There are many small text boxes, like credit card size's boxes, where we need to input a lot of text. You can't see what you're typing beyond the tiny window, so you have to scroll or type elsewhere and copy-paste it. It's very inconvenient."
"The solution’s customization features could be better. Its performance and scalability need improvement as well."
"Compared to other GRC tools, RSA Archer is a little complex in the sense that even users need to have some knowledge of the tool."
"I find the tech support to be inadequately knowledgeable."
"It would be useful for customers if COBIT 2019 could be translated into different languages."
"Solution could use more inbuilt applications."
"There are days when their stuff is awesome, there are other days when the frustration level is way too high."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Compared to similar products by other vendors, this is an expensive one."
"RSA Archer's price is justifiable and not as expensive, compared to ServiceNow. I have heard that the licensing for ServiceNow is much more expensive. I'm unaware whether there are any additional costs after licensing fees."
"It is not expensive. It is reasonable. We only pay for the licensing."
"The initial purchase is cheap. You pay a nominal price to start then renew the license annually. You also must buy a license for each module. I'm not too fond of that aspect of the licensing model. You buy the elephant and then spend more money to feed the elephant."
"The license is costly for the solution, but the remaining set up and maintenance is quite cheaper."
"Fairly highly-priced, especially for smaller companies."
"I am not sure about other companies, but it's quite expensive."
"At the higher end of the price scale, but provides better, more accessible functionality and customization than cheaper products."
"The solution's price should be reduced. You only have to pay the license and there are no additional fees."
