As for areas where Sophos Cyberoam UTM can be improved, it's hard to say; I have not at the moment seen anything that I could not get a solution for, but if there's anything, I'll make sure to raise that with the Sophos team. Regarding the documentation, I find that it is still lacking, although the YouTube videos, user training, and knowledge forum are now better than they were before. Sophos Cyberoam UTM should move in the direction of AI capabilities, as the world is moving toward AI. Sophos Cyberoam UTM is not promoted enough. I see FortiGates organizing student competitions and Cisco doing CCNA classes, so Sophos should follow that route as well.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The stability of Palo Alto Networks CN-Series is excellent."
"The app inspection is very helpful for network security."
"For a small business, it's okay; it's easy to set up and it's also cheap."
"We used to use Fortinet UTM, but Cyberoam is much better in terms of virus scanning, web filtering and spam filtering."
"The dashboard is very good-looking and offers maximum features. If a customer's website has a problem, we can guide them over the phone because they can easily find the specific option on the dashboard. That's why we suggest buying Sophos."
"Unified Threat Management System is an elite product which has been engineered for security, productivity, and connectivity to users across the wide area and local area networks."
"The solution's interface is user-friendly, and the web protection is good. The tool is highly stable. The product is scalable. The technical support is good. We chose Sophos Cyberoam UTM because their focus on security research is higher compared to other brands. It's an all-in-one solution with antivirus, EDR, wireless protection, and web protection integrated into one box. The initial setup was straightforward."
"The most valuable features are the firewall section, the VPN, and how you control live users."
"The product is easy to maintain."
"The tool is stable."

Cons

"I'd like to see more IOPs features."
"Palo Alto Networks CN-Series could improve on its pricing as it is quite expensive."
"Sales and support. The sales team is constantly being changed and after acquisition by Sophos, it was treated as a stepchild until they announced the end-of-life cycle with a path to Sophos XG product."
"The solution should improve its scalability because it cannot support enterprise networks."
"Compared to a Cisco router, Cyberoam UTMs need to be restarted more often."
"The Web Filter and Application Filter need improvement. In the Web Filter, there is a problem to block YouTube by HTTPS, so this needs to improve."
"I would like to see real-time alerts on traffic insights."
"The hardware has no user limit (the hardware is the limit) while the virtual edition has user limits (I do not like limits). It is a bit expensive, but totally worth the money."
"There is a lot or room for improvement, because it is still not a fourth or fifth generation firewall. It lacks security features."
"The configuration requires an expert to be set up, so it could be made simpler."
