Flexible modeling capabilities have optimized resource allocation and collaboration tools aid communication
Some of the best features with the Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud perform better than OneStream. The flexible modeling capabilities of the Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud have helped with optimizing resource allocation. The built-in collaboration tools with the Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud have aided communication among me and my clients as well as the clients and stakeholders. The advanced analytics within the Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud helps with the performance insights on some of these clients.

ERP Head at a manufacturing company with 1,001-5,000 employees
Has automated many financial processes and improved transaction handling efficiency
I am satisfied with analytics and reporting to a certain level, but not completely. There are so many SAP providers and customer solutions to include manual warning reports. SAP S/4HANA also will not provide the detailed reports as users expect, but the system provides the ability to implement new reports. It does not reach that level completely. Around fifty to sixty percent of the system will solve business needs, but not entirely. In the reports area, especially in the customer reports area, there is a lot of room for improvement. It would be better to improve and also meet local requirements and localization. That needs to be addressed.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The workforce, the cube database, is the most valuable feature where you do planning for your headcounts."
"It gives you an end-to-end solution from integrating data from the source system to reporting. So it's a highly recommended tool."
"The best feature of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is the possibility to use data forms to input data and allow users to have a template with the data form."
"We previously used Oracle EDS, and when comparing it to this solution, this solution has a much better interface. There are lots of advantages of the new solutions. Having it on the cloud, we are able to forget about keeping them updated or taking care of the database. We have minimal maintenance."
"We find it valuable that all the features are combined into one system."
"The tool improves the organizational budgeting process in several ways. One significant aspect is the extensionable functionality it offers. To illustrate, consider a scenario where a company has factories in Mexico producing Volkswagen and Kentucky producing Ford."
"The flexible modeling capabilities of the Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud have helped with optimizing resource allocation."
"Planning is the most stable and solid tool available in the market."
"We cannot run our business without this software."
"The biggest benefit of SAP S/4HANA Finance is the stability of the solution, which brings the knowledge from SAP ECC systems."
"SAP S/4HANA Finance definitely helps the business get real-time data instead of having a scheduled job chart with time lag in data."
"The implementation of SAP S_4HANA Finance has helped our operations by reducing manpower considerably."

Cons

"For HR, the workforce planning out of the box is complicated. For most users, it's not easy, and it requires a learning curve. It's not very user-friendly. It can be improved."
"Tech support has gone down. Initially when it was on-prem, tech support was very sophisticated and knowledgeable."
"Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud could improve. There are times when the forms are slow in saving and calculating."
"The tool has its flaws but most of time (99%), it is the implementer's fault that you have a bad or slow model."
"Cloud services are what I would like to see improved, specifically Planning Cloud and Essbase on Cloud."
"I don’t like this version, but it might get better."
"The Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud can be improved in various ways."
"The tool's interface is outdated. However, OneStream is easier to navigate."
"Implementation can be complex in SAP S/4HANA Finance, depending on the company and its requirements."
"My experience with technical support from SAP is not that great."
"I definitely see room for improvement in SAP S_4HANA Finance for the future, as our client is looking for enhancements."
"However, I do not have enough knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Finance to suggest improvements in such a substantial software system."
