Has improved data security and automation while supporting large-scale storage and migration
I do not use the Global Reach feature. Regarding metrics and performance, I don’t recall the exact performance metrics, but we use ETL processes to monitor and manage migration performance and data quality. Oracle Database Cloud Service is strong for data management and storage, as well as for its security features and automation of data dumps and archiving. Overall, Oracle Database Cloud Service is a solid product. It’s well-suited for financial platforms. Oracle provides both its on-premises and cloud-based suites, and the company continues to evolve, offering more components for data storage, data management, and integration with other tools and SaaS solutions. I plan to continue using Oracle Database Cloud Service, particularly for managing SaaS tools in financial contexts.

Has successfully supported tenant data separation and enabled strong analytics capabilities
We use VPD, Virtual Private Database, for the multitenancy. We are selling products and using Oracle Multitenant for tenants, for building the product for our customers. We have many customers, actually thousands, and the main objective is to separate data from one customer to another The…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Oracle DCS is stable and easy to use, scale, and maintain."
"I am impressed with the product's partitioning and advanced data card."
"It is a very stable program."
"Security is the most valuable feature provided by the product."
"The product’s most valuable feature is affordable pricing compared to other providers."
"Some advantages of Oracle Database Cloud Service are its availability, performance, and affordability."
"What I like best about Oracle Database Cloud Service is its nice performance. My company doesn't have any problems with the service. The technical support for it is also good. My company is satisfied with Oracle Database Cloud Service. I also like the availability of the service. It's a trustworthy service. I didn't experience any downtime from it. My company also has additional features included in the contract, such as WAP, which makes operations easier. My team can implement all the architecture with the features and services that Oracle Database Cloud Service offers. Technically, this is a very, very, good product or database, whether on-premises or on the cloud."
"We really like the flexibility of adding more resources and the overall administration interface."
"The stability of Oracle Multitenant is excellent, and I would rate it a nine out of ten."
"The analytics tool, Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), is the main important component of this solution and in the analytics part, the VPD handles all the necessary functions effectively."
"It is quite stable. We have not faced any kind of instability in the database."
"It's a really great new option for Database 12c, with huge potential because it allows a container database to hold many pluggable databases."
"The feature that I like on Multitenant is the ease - it is very easy for my team to run the database."
"I would rate the scalability a ten out of ten. Our clients are mostly medium and enterprise businesses."
"The database becomes pluggable. Inside this container is called a pluggable database and each application contains this pluggable database inside Multitenant. We can then share resources like control files, memory, etc. This lets you stop and start each application without impacting the others. This resource sharing is the most valuable feature"
"There are only benefits to using this solution."

Cons

"We encountered connection failures for some of our sites."
"Oracle Database Cloud Service is a good engine and at the moment, there isn't any new feature I can think of that I'd like added to the service. The only problem I see in Oracle Database Cloud Service is it's more commercial, so it has a relation to how it deals with customers. I don't feel secure in a deal with Oracle because that team changes the conditions each year, and there's no representative from the team that talks to my company about new needs. Oracle needs to improve its relationship with customers and partners in general."
"Oracle Database Cloud Service has room for improvement in handling large-scale applications."
"I think the program is rather expensive, so I would like to see it becoming more affordable."
"The implementation process could be easier for customers."
"In my opinion, the price of Oracle Database Cloud Service should be more affordable. Additionally, the interface of the application could be more user-friendly."
"The pricing must be improved."
"Oracle Cloud is very strong in the database, but it is not as comprehensive as AWS or Azure."
"Stability and full feature coverage will come with future release."
"Oracle is too complex. Anyone that has experience with Oracle knows that their product design or idea may be very good, but when you go to work it will take you hours because it is very complex."
"There are many functions where changes are not easy to implement, and we try to avoid modifying these areas due to security issues and the complexity of maintaining them."
"Oracle has a lot of work to do with Multitenant because it's a new feature."
"I would rate technical support at Oracle a three out of five. They're good, but not good always."
"Technical support could be faster."
"The only issue is that shared files for the main container affect all container databases if something happens to them."
"The solution is partially extendable. It is not very easy to scale. If we want to grow, we need additional servers, which is why we are considering the cloud."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing for Oracle Database Cloud Service could be more competitive. Lately, pricing for it has been increasing, so my company may have to review different options to find a solution with competitive pricing. From what I know, there's no additional cost apart from the standard licensing fees for Oracle Database Cloud Service."
"I think the program is rather expensive, so I would like to see it becoming more affordable."
"The product has reasonable pricing. I rate its pricing a nine out of ten."
"Price is always higher for all Oracle products."
"The tool is not cheap."
"Every year we are increasing the price of the solution. There is hardware licensing available. We pay approximately $20,000 monthly to use the solution."
"This solution is a little bit pricey."
"The price is worth the quality."
"For me, I will go with it if I have the budget. Some features are nicer than before, but at the end of the day, you always have a limited budget. I prefer to upgrade and get a specific hardware when possible. At the end, you will have to make a compromise. You will not get everything you would have liked to have."
