Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

We've used it for traditional help desk and defect tracking endeavors
It is the Swiss Army knife of software applications. If you have a process, SBM can be easily used to track and report on that process We've used it for traditional help desk and defect tracking endeavors, but we've also used it for HR, Marketing, and even some non-traditional government…

Low-code workflows have transformed how we automate processes and build enterprise apps
First and foremost, ServiceNow Now Platform allows us to do a low-code or no-code platform, which is the wonderful first feature. On top of that, if you want to do some customization along with the low-code and no-code, you can do it. Beyond that, if you write a full-fledged customized code and make your functionality, you can do it. Workflow is there, and we can automate our workflows. Flow is there as an option. Apart from workflow and flow, we have many business rules and script includes. These are all the technical components and features of ServiceNow Now Platform that allow us to achieve our objective. ServiceNow Now Platform offers a very easy feature that we call workflow or flow. Using workflow or flow, we can customize industry workflows. The development on that flow is very simple, and you can use drag and drop functionality. If you want to do some scripting, you can do it. This is an awesome feature of ServiceNow Now Platform that allows us to develop or automate any flow in quick time. Internally, ServiceNow Now Platform uses a lot of AI features and machine learning features. This makes it more wonderful. AI and machine learning are the core of ServiceNow Now Platform, and they are using it heavily. It is making a lot of impact on deliverables. You can develop anything whatever you want on ServiceNow Now Platform. If you understand ServiceNow Now Platform capabilities, you can develop a full-fledged application on ServiceNow Now Platform easily. You don't have to write scratch code or do any database operations. You just need to create tables and forms, which are very easy to develop if you are familiar with ServiceNow. Everything is on one platform, so it is a single source of data that you can find on ServiceNow itself for the overall enterprise. ServiceNow Now Platform offers a reporting feature very well. Along with the reporting, they are offering workspace and dashboard. All these UI interfaces you can use to extract precise information for your customer. This is really helping the customer make decisions with the precise and versatile reports. You can have a list report view, a graph report view, or a pie chart. All these features can be developed quickly and used in ServiceNow. This is where ServiceNow Now Platform makes a lot of difference.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"IQ Bot is a valuable feature. It processes unstructured data to structured data. It helps me by making tasks less time consuming. It reduces the effort it takes versus manually."
"The scalability of Automation Anywhere, the framework, and user interface are particularly impressive."
"RPA implementation will be always fruitful, and return on investment will be always higher than the input costs."
"In some of our use cases, people were spending more than three hours per day just generating reports, and then we created an automation for this and it reduced the time to 30 minutes."
"AI governance is very important in my company, and we are implementing it now."
"Its ease of use is the most valuable feature. It is easy to train developers and find the right people, then use them to build the tool."
"The turnaround time of building bots is quick. We are deploying around four bots per month. The turnaround time to get a design, build, and deploy is very fast. This is very good for us. It has helped us out when scaling up in a better manner."
"It really does have a great dashboard. It has Bot Insight, it has MetaBots, and IQ Bots. It has so many features where it can read a file and loop."
"The Composer is absolutely a magical tool, allowing you to get a fully functional app based on your process sketch in a couple of hours, without knowing BPMN notation."
"Estimates from all teams are visible in one general ticket (PFC)."
"There was a significant ROI, as the development of weekly metrics from Excel spreadsheets, Lotus Notes databases, Access databases, and some Word documents went from a two to three day affair to a process that now takes seconds."
"Allows us to automate work flows to provision IS services."
"The integration with other tools is pretty good."
"The ServiceNow Now Platform is also very customizable, scalable, and performance-wise, it's very good."
"The most valuable feature of the ServiceNow Now Platform is the workspaces feature, which allows you to create customized workspaces."
"The solution has more products than being an ITSM tool. Big customers such as those from Telcom tend to like it. Some of our customers use AI-based chatbots."
"ServiceNow Now Platform is clearly more futuristic and much better to integrate with all other applications."
"This solution is very reliable, and they are proactive."
"The product's most advantageous feature is platform innovation."
"Learning materials, such as online courses, are readily available."

Cons

"Moving away from client-server architecture to web-based deployment compromised developer experience of app reliability offered by 11.3.X flavors. Desktop app experience >>> Web experience, developers are not pleased."
"I noticed that from version 10.5 to 11.3 the number of clicks to start a bot through the Control Room and Schedule Manager have increased. In certain cases, I would like to see that become simpler, faster, and easier."
"My opinion is that we need to have a video or tutorial on how to implement these features, as well as seeing what results to expect."
"Automation Anywhere could benefit from a more technical focus."
"The integration is not always seamless. Sometimes, it takes a while to get everything to communicate and be ready to go into production."
"In the A2019 community edition, while running its taking time to run RPA bots and having few bugs related to IQ Bot server connectivity and other things."
"In the learning track, I was looking at the latest feature which is coming in A2019, which is very nice, because it is a web-based. So, we can do our development while sitting from anywhere. We don't need any type of installation. It's a web-based. Nowadays, everyone has the Internet."
"They should do more on the cognitive side."
"User interface and links between tickets. For me, Jira is the ideal tool."
"Response time could improve."
"Reporting is generally very good, but people always want more."
"I think there may be some integration with AI and a smart way of reporting, reporting mechanisms, and automation mechanisms on the inputs from other tools that could be better."
"It would be great if the ServiceNow Now Platform supported satellite technologies in its telecom models and integrated with tools like OpenAI, LLaMA, or any Google AI platforms such as Vertex AI or Bard."
"There are a few areas of concern when it comes to the product's support team where improvements are required."
"The tool has a lot of limitations."
"The programming language is currently limited to JavaScript. So I would like to see more programming languages available, especially since they have come up with the machine-learning features. Some more languages would be an additional improvement."
"Simplifying the user interface for both users and administrators is key. It is not very intuitive."
"The price is a bit high and can be a bit of a barrier for some customers."
"The user experience could be improved. The current design of forms lacks intuitiveness, as there seems to be only one form available for all types of operations."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Annual licensing costs would be about $100,000."
"From my experience, I can say that the initial setup cost is easily recovered over a period of time once the bots start running in production."
"Considering the cost, it is a bit high, but worth the price because the output accuracy is high."
"I'm not sure what the monthly licensing cost is, as that is taken care of by another team, but I would say it's around $100,000."
"Automation Anywhere might have a higher upfront cost than some competitors, but its extensive features and seamless integration with other tools can save organizations money in the long run."
"Approximately, for a developer, it is around $750 for a license a year. For Bot Runners, it is about $550."
"We have seen about a 10 percent monetary savings."
"We are restricted to use one license on one PC. However, if my license is not working, I want to be able to use it somewhere else. This would be a nice improvement to the licensing, as other competitors in the market have better licensing terms."
Information not available
"I don't have much exposure to the costs attached to the solution. I rate the product's price a six on a scale of one to ten, where one is the lowest price, and ten is the highest price since it is a costly tool."
"The price of the product falls on the higher side of the spectrum."
"Pricing is based on the number of users and user licenses, but the product is 20% to 30% more than the competition."
"I would rate the pricing an eight out of ten, with ten being very expensive solution."
"Most of the features are included in the licensing cost. However, if we need extra plugins that are not available at the ServiceNow Hub or store, then we have to pay extra for those."
"It's expensive and if you need some analytical views of your activity, there is an additional cost."
"The product is very expensive."
"From what I heard, the license for the ServiceNow Now Platform is paid monthly, and on a scale of one to five, I'm rating it a three in terms of pricing, so it's on the cheaper side. I don't know of any additional costs associated with the ServiceNow Now Platform, apart from the standard licensing fees."
